Worst Lending Experience Ever
I was looking for my first house online and ENG came up as a lender, I filled out an application and I was approved quicklyMy first agent was responsive and helpfulI found a house in the late summer of and it required a 203k loan, so I was sent to a different part of ENG that was suppose to handle this type of loan, and got a new loan officer, this is when the problems startedHe, Craig, was not punctual when responding to calls or emails, and was not helpful in the steps involvedI am a first time home buyer and had questions about the type of loan and the terms, he was very vague and uninformed about the real options I had with the loan and the paperwork involved for the 203k loanLong story short we closed days later than expected the original closing date was Oct 30thI had sublet my apartment for Nov 1st, he had no sympathy for my situation and the closing got mover times before finally closing on Nov 25thThen again all emails stoppedMy first payment was do Jan 1st, I emailed at the end of december asking where to send my payment, did not receive a reply until Jan 5th and and actual payment coupon until Jan 25thAt which time I got two, they wanted me to pay the Jan and Feb payments AT THE SAME TIME! they had also sold my mortgage to another company and I got a bill for Feb from them as wellSo here I sit on Jan 27th with them not budging and saying missing the Jan payment will affect my credit and there is nothing they can doI am not asking to skip the payment just have a little more time to make it as they seem it's fine to resolve issues in weeks time and then turn around and ask me to priority mail, because they do not have a way to pay online or by phone, my paymentZero out of however many stars you choose

We were contacted by a Bank of England Mortgage of Daphne financial representative via email on October 12, stating that we were pre-approved for a loan to purchase a home that had been shown to us by an agent from Jason WReal EstateWe were asked to go ahead with the appraisal and inspection, and had to put down earnest money, and we were given a closing date of Thanksgiving weekAfter spending $for the appraisal, inspection and earnest money, after signing extensions to the contract, after our loan representative was written up by her boss, Bryant M., and after almost months of stress, we are being told that our loan is now being deniedThere are MANY more issues with this situation, such as the underwriters continuing to ask for paper after paper and never being satisfiedI supplied colored copies of my husband's checks, his paystubs, a from his previous employer, our tax returns, and a Verification of Employment from his previous employer, and we were still being asked to provide proof that he worked for that particular company!
We are being punished because Mr_________ of the Daphne, AL branch has conflicts with his employee, and in talking with him for 1/hours over the telephone last week, we discovered the reasons he is giving us for denying our loan are not truthfulNEVER would I recommend Bank of England to anyone

Completely incompetent! No attention to information I provided and numerous errors from day such that days before closing, I fired them!
Examples: I told them in the pre-approval process that my divorce would not be final until July 1, but they continued asking for my divorce decree and settlement paperwork through most of April and May
Initial documents they wanted me to e-sign included kid ages of and while actual ages were and 21!
Initial documents stated my rent was $650, but in actuality was $1,
Insisted for weeks that they did not have a copy of my SSN card which was provided On the same piece of paper as the copy of my drivers license and then required me to sign authorization for them to get verification of my identity because I did not have a SSN card
They admitted halfway through the loan process that they had initially told the underwriter that I was already divorced, which caused the underwriter to repeatedly request documentation that did not exist
A week before closing, they made me and my soon to be ex husband sign a donor letter that they provided, then the next day said I had to have it resigned bacause the wording was wrong and I needed to provide additional documentation which I had provided weeks prior!
Something is very wrong here!

My name is Jeremy Mand I would like everyone to know when buying a home with eng lenders, it's very pleasing and professional! Rick Lthank you so much for helping us make our dream s come true with our first home purchase !

I worked with ENG lending for 4 months the lender *kennith t[redacted] was rude and spoke to me like I was an [redacted]. This was my first home purchase. At the end of 4 months while I was told I was getting my clear to close, he called and said never mind your not getting the loan. I turn around used a local lender and closed on the property in 45 days no thanks to ENG. Worst experience of my life.

We went with Bank of England when we were buying our first house, during the first week or two of the process we were very happy with them. After that, everything went south. We were working with Jason, getting him to return our phone calls was almost impossible, I would have to call numerous times a day for a few days before I would hear back from him. When he responded to emails, he would never give you a flat answer and would flat out ignore any question that required a flat answer. Every time either my realtor or I would speak with Jason, we would get different stories, nothing ever added up. Every time I spoke with him, I felt like I was inconveniencing him. I was promised that they would pay a certain amount of my closing costs due to issues they created, when we finally got to closing, they had only paid 1/4th of what was promised. When I called him on that, I got so many excuses it was insane. Closing was a nightmare, we had about 5 closing dates, each time they would come back hours before closing and have more documents they needed, or realized they had made mistakes on the application. We were told everything was approved and good to go, then closing day they would need a pile of information (before it even went to underwriting). The whole process was a complete nightmare and if I could do it all over again, I would choose another bank for my mortgage. I honestly cannot say enough with how upset I was with this whole situation.

I have been working with a senior lender officer named Graziano T[redacted] from his office in manhattan, new york. He explained everything with clarity and allot of knowledge about our refinance. Even thou we are in hawaii, this company man did indeed help me be ready for all steps necessary to complete this grueling paper work and high itensity transaction. I truly recommend you call him at Tel [redacted]. You will very happy you did. We are in the final parts of the procedure, and are confident that this will finish well

I'VE BEEN WORKING WITH A BANKER AT CR LENDING AND THE EXPERIENCE IS GOING WELL. HE IS ALWAYS POSITIVE AND MADE ME FEEL LIKE I COULD OWN MY OWN HOME ONE DAY TOO. THE AMERICAN DREAN THAT I ALWAYS HEARD ABOUT. OTHERS DIDN'T GIVE ME THE TIME TO EVEN LET ME KNOW THEY COULD PERFORM THE LOAN BECAUSE OF THE ISSUES. THANK GOD 1ST. THANK RICK L FOR ALL HIS TIME TO MAKE IT WORK..RAY

I had a wonderful experience working with Rick L. at The Bank of England Mortgage Company. Since I am a first-time home buyer, I had numerous questions and no idea what to expect. Unlike brokers from other banks I had spoken too, Rick was encouraging from the start. He explained each step of the procedure as we encountered it, telling me in precise detail what documents I needed, how to get them, and how they would be processed. At the end of each call, he briefly explained what was coming next.

He reassured me that in his extensive experience, things work out if they are supposed to, and he often repeated the mantra, "No surprises." Everything did work out, and he was careful to keep surprises (from others) at bay. Although we worked from different states and communicated only by phone or email, he was always prompt to respond to my calls. He told me when he would contact me again and never missed an appointment.

I am not a math person, so his ability to run numbers in his head at the speed of light amazed me -- and saved me the trouble of using a calculator. This lender at The Bank of England is professional, skilled, and empathetic. There is nothing he could have done to give me a better experience with my mortgage other than offering to pay the bill himself. Mr. L. was recommended to me, and I highly pass that recommendation on to others.
