Dear [redacted]:| received your letter dated May 15, 2014 and the email complaint from [redacted]r. am timely filing my response within the 10 business days allowed.I am the owner of Nail First located at [redacted] MD. [redacted]. As the...

owner, I am normally at the salon 6 days a week. I was working at the salon on Saturday, May 10, 2014 when the alleged incident occurred. I was there the following day, Sunday, when [redacted] came into the Salon.[redacted] explained to me that she was a customer from yesterday and had come to get her eyebrows waxed. She indicated that the esthetician had put rubbing alcohol on her, causing burn like marks around her eye area.[redacted] was extremely angry and demanded that I produce the esthetician who worked on her. I asked [redacted] to identify the esthetician who waxed her eyebrows by looking around the salon. She could not identify the esthetician. When I asked whether or not she knew the estheticians name, she replied that she did not. I asked my workers if any of them remembered providing her with service yesterday; no one remembered. I personally I do not recall seeing or providing service to [redacted] on Saturday, May .Even though there was no verification from anyone in my salon that [redacted] was in fact a customer from Saturday, I still spoke in a professional manner to her.I explained to her that since she did not come to me on the day the service was allegedly provided to her and could not provide me with more information, I could not produce a name for her. However, I suggested to [redacted] that she should go see a doctor if she felt that it is was necessary; she could bring the doctors bill to me and I would give the bill to my insurance company for them to investigate.Even if I give [redacted] the benefit of the doubt and assume that she was a customer of Nail First, I do not believe that there was any wrongdoing. A small use of rubbing alcohol to clean the skin area before or after eyebrow waxing to avoid skin infection is a common practice. The rubbing alcohol serves as an antiseptic and is a safety measure. My guess is that [redacted] may have been one of those people who is extra sensitive to the eyebrow wax or other chemicals used in the process of waxing. If so, this is an unfortunate incident. I understand [redacted]s anger; however, expecting estheticians to predict how different people will react to certain chemicals is beyond the scope of their training.I had tried to assist [redacted] and work with her as much as I could in light of the circumstances. As a way to resolve this matter, I had provided [redacted] with the opportunity of making a claim with my insurance company and for them to investigate. To date, [redacted] has not provided me with any medical bill or report regarding her alleged injuries. As a business owner and a proud cosmetologist, my goal is to provide the best customer service that I can by treating people properly and fairly. Review: On Saturday, May 10, 2014 around 3:30pm I got my eyebrows waxed and after waxing my eyebrows the person used rubbing alchohal. I warned her that it burned and she said that this was normal. The next day I woke up to burn marks underneath my eyebrows and on my eyes and eyelids. The doctor declared it as a 1st degree burn.Desired Settlement: Seeking attorney at the moment.
