Review: The nail salon clearly stated that a "gel manicure" cost $20 (very consistent with the going rate for this type of manicure). After I selected the gel nail polish and had my manicure done, the salon charged me $37. I had offered to pay before getting the manicure (and would have therefore clarified the confusion before the services were rendered), but the salon employee refused. When I asked for explanation on why they were charging me $37 for a manicure that was advertised as $20, they pointed me to the bottom of the menu which showed in small print that there was a "soak off gel manicure" for $37. They were not able to describe the difference between the two gel manicures and insisted on charging me nearly double for the service I thought I had requested. I made the choice to get the gel manicure based on the advertised $20 and was the victim of a bait and switch, unwilling to make a fuss in a crowded salon.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded $17.

We spend lots of time taking care of this customer in the busiest time of the day.

One of our nail technician who had over 15 years in manicure spent well over 70 minutes to give her what she wanted to get. She wanted a Shellac manicure which is a soak-off color gel. I thought she was very satisfied until she got to pay. She never asked about the price when she came into our store. We have a price list near the entrance door. I thought she didn't understand the difference between gel manicure and soak-off gel manicure. I kindly explained to her before she got out of our store what the gel manicure is. I clearly told her what the gel manicure was. But she doesn't seem to understand. Perhaps she din't want to listen because she was not satisfied with our price. On her complaint statement she mentioned that $20 was the going rate for this type of the nail ( CND Shellac which is a soak off color gel). However this is not true. CND, the manufacturer of CND Shellac Soak off gel recommend us we get paid at least $35 or more. and we know most of the nail salons who does Cnd Shellac manicure charge $40 or more. Also, we never advertise Shellac manicure for $20. we never advertise gel manicure for $20.

We did the best we can do to serve her. If she wasn't satisfied with the price, there is nothing we can do to resolve this because we clearly posted on the price list how much is soak of color gel manicure.
