Review: they took extremely long to work on the vehicle (over 1 yr...they also did not finish the work that I paid them to do and left me with a pile of parts which over half of them is missingDesired Settlement: I would like half of the money I paid them and the parts they have lost

The job started out as only a large amount of body work to be performed on the lower rocker panels and front floor and then the customer decided to replace the complete engine with a totally different engine for this vehicle. yes the engine that he supplied was for that type of vehicle but not that year and the complete wiring harnesses are different from the two different years the motor mounts were also completely different. and at the time on replacing the engine we found more body work needing repaired on the vehicle another large area of rust. that we replaced with a used piece. the customer then supplied us with new motor mounts that were not correct after we installed them on engine. he also supplied us with a wiring harness for the engine that he supplied that was to short to work on this vehicle and some plugs and wires were different. He asked us to cut the wires and wire them together. we told him NO that that is not a safe and proper fix and we would not do that. he also needed exhaust made for this vehicle with the new but used engine but we told him we were unable to make a custom exhaust for it at this time due to the motor mounts not correct and the engine was not seating properly in the engine compartment. the complete computer system was also different and he was also told he would need to locate the proper one for that engine and transmission. He never found one to have installed. The vehicle also sat at our facility for a few months while he was getting the engine after we started doing all the body repairs that were first needed to be done.he also added some stuff to being repaired as we were performing the body work he asked us to repair other areas while we were working on the vehicle. the customer also new that all the work that we were performing would take several months to have all repaired before the work was ever even started on the vehicle in the beginning.He also knew that making the changes that he chose to do would create needing more time to locate parts and more work performed. and custom made. we have spoken to the customer since he made the complaint not we have not mentioned about the complaint to him but asked him what items he was missing. He stated the items that were missing were only a few things that we told him they could have been misplaced over the time of it sitting here and being moved around we also told him that we tried to keep all his parts with his vehicle so that nothing was misplaced but we would look to see if any items were here and he is more then welcome to have them. but when he received the vehicle back to him the vehicle was not completely put back together the seats and interior was still out of the vehicle cause he was not sure of everything he was doing to it yet. And when he did receive the vehicle to his residents we provided a tow truck and towed it to his residents for free and he asked us at that time if he owed us any more money and we told him No even though we purchased gaskets and other items for the vehicle but since he couldn't locate the proper wiring harness and computers and he said he would just do the other work out of his home to help save himself money. But before receiving this complaint notice from your company the customer never told us about any items he was missing. we contacted him after receiving the notice that is when he told us of the items he needed which are no real major items a plastic inside door molding and a headlamp plastic ring and he said the two headlamps no real major items all items that could been misplaced by our company or when he removed all the items form his vehicle at his residents but we did tell him we would see if we might have misplaced them near were his vehicle was parked in our facility and he said that was fine with him but we also told him to please give us a few days due to the extreme weather we are having here presently. but to comment on his desired settlement I feel we did alot more repairs and our work for this customer then he paid to this facility. if we took all the man hours that were put into the vehicle that he owns and the materials we used and parts that were bought for that vehicle while it was being repaired that will all exceed the dollar amount that he paid to the facility. but we are willing to TRY to see if any of the items he states are missing is here at our facility.
