[redacted] was seen in March 2016 and was told by the dentist she had a cavity.  [redacted] returned to the office on July 18th for the filling with a different dentist, Dr. O'Neal.  [redacted] was seated by the assistant and topical anesthesia (gel on q-tip) was placed by the...

assistant.  Dr. O'Neal removed the q-tip and examined where the filling was diagnosed by the other dentist.  Dr. O'Neal did not agree with the previous dentist's diagnosis therefore, he did not do the filling nor did he administer local anesthetic.  Dr. O'Neal explained there was no decay to be found and recommended an orthodontic referral.  [redacted] called into the orthodontic department on August 16th to schedule a consult appointment.  The first available appointment was in January as the orthodontist is only in the office 3 Wednesdays a month and she had only returned from maternity leave in May.  We were very backed up on appointments due to the maternity leave.  Also, it should be known we have no record of [redacted] contacting the orthodontic department previously.  [redacted] was referred to the Office Manager as the staff member could not satisfy her needs.  [redacted] & Office Manager spoke the same day and she was given the opportunity to express her complaints.  Upon trying to explain the various situations and why some things happened the way they do and offering to refer her to another office for her orthodontic needs so she could be seen quicker than our availability [redacted] got very angry and disagreed with the way the Office Manager was handling the phone call.  Ms. Palmer expressed she was taking her business elsewhere and the Office Manager agreed as we were unable to appease her.  A follow up email was sent with a records request form so when she found her new dentist she could properly request her records to be transferred.  It should be documented that [redacted]'s history reflects 4 occasions where she missed appointments; 2 of which the fees were removed.  Dr. O'Neal is not in agreement with refunding $100 as requested nor is he willing to write an apology letter.
