Customer signed up for our promotional 10 course deal (10 online professional development courses offered to user till the end of the year 2016). Courses were offered at a deeply discounted price of $500 (COMPARED with $1,690 -- each course is worth $169 at regular registration Price). There is a...

two-step registration process for these courses:1) Register with the course-provider (i.e., NaMaYa)2) Register with NYC Department of Education's After School Professional Development Program (ASPDP) on their site ([redacted]) and pay the $125 P-credit fee (Per course)Failure to register with NYC DOE puts the course participant at risk of not being able to qualify for these P-Credits. NaMaYa is a private course vendor--not a credit granting authority. We work with different educational organizations, NYC DOE, and various University affiliates (where we offer courses for graduate credits). Therefore, it is course-participant's responsibility to register with appropriate credit granting authority based on their guidelines.Information about this 2-step registration process is included on the home-page of every single course under the "Program Information" section. This is the first bit of information that they should READ and FOLLOW. If there is any confusion regarding the information, the course participant is provided our e-mail, where they can contact us for clarification. The information contains a link to NYC DOE's website where they are required to complete step 2 of the registration process:Course InformationCredit Information: Approved for Summer 2016 semester - Earn 3 P-CreditsRegister with NYC DOE's After School Professional Development Program (ASPDP) -[redacted]Length: 36 Contact HoursIf you have any questions, request more information or contact NaMaYaPD at[redacted] call our dedicated phone line at ###-###-####--------------------------------------------------------------------... this information is included in our HelpDesk:

She did not even contact us over the course of the entire year to inquire about the process. She waited an entire year to contact us. At that point, it was too late...she had missed registration deadlines with NYC DOE for 3 full semesters (Spring 2016, Summer 2016, Fall 2016). According to NYC DOE policy, you must register with them for each semester before the registration deadline on[redacted] pay the $125 credit fee in order to get credit for courses upon completion. Failure to do this (or to not do it on time puts the course participant at risk of not being able get credits). Additionally, NYC DOE has a 4 course limit, so the course-participant must can only take a maximum of 4 courses per semester. The 10 course deal was structured in a way, so that course participant could take 2-4 courses per semester and over the course of 3 semesters (Spring, Summer, and Fall) complete their 10 courses. However, in this case...the course-participant DID NOT register with NYC DOE for ANY of these courses over the course of the year.RESOLUTION:At the discretion of NYC DOE, they were able to retro-actively register ShaVon Hodge for the following courses:ABC's of Blended Learning - Spring 2017ADHD and Learning Disabilities: Classroom Interventions and Instructional Strategies - Fall 2016The Flipped Classroom - Fall 2016Disciplining Today’s Student: How to Maintain Discipline and Dignity - Summer 2016Integrating Technology Into Your Classroom - Summer 2016Issues Facing Today’s Teens: How to Understand and Empower Teenagers - Summer 2016Strategies for Meeting the Needs of Students with Emotional Disabilities - Summer 2016Teaching Study Skills for the Special Education Student - Spring 2016NaMaYaPD has submitted "PASS" grades for course participant to NYC DOE, thus enabling her to earn her P-Credits for 7 out of these 10 courses. One course has been registered for the Spring 2017 semester which ends on June [redacted]. A "PASS" grade will be submitted for "ABC's of Blended Learning" at the end of the Spring 2017 semester (contingent on satisfactory course-work).The course-participant was also provided access to 2 NEW courses for the Spring 2017 semester as a replacement for her other 2 courses:NYC - Teaching Responsible Nutrition: Are You Really Hungry?NYC - Complicated Grief - Identifying Depression, Anxiety and Other Risks in the classroomShe will need to complete the work for these courses in order to get credit at the end of the Spring 2017 semester. In this manner, we have tried our best to accommodate the course-participant, so she can earn her P-Credits for all 10 courses even though she failed to register with NYC DOE on-time as was required.
