This is my response to a complaint filed against me and my company by *** * ***.** *** has been a client of mine for almost ten years and I have never had any problems with her except for a yearly complaint of my fees of $150, have always told her that the $she pays me every year is
actually discounted because of her loyalty over the years.On April 14,2014,** *** called me and wanted to know how much would charge to prepare her tax return, informed *** that my fees for her is still the same.She complained that ** *** was charging her $and I reminded her that l do not have time to go through this same complaint every year and if ** would prepare the taxes for that amount, she should by all means have them prepare the taxI also informed her that ** would not charge her to do a long formShe hung up the phone and in my mind, believed she was shopping aroundwas very surprised to see her in my office on the 15th of April and she indicated she wanted the tax done and I told her was happy to see her, completed her taxes, gave her copies for her records and electronically send copies to the Internal Revenue Service and to the comptroller of MD.On April 16, I received a response from the IRS indicating that the tax filed for ** *** was a duplicate return.My initial reaction was that she probably filed her tax somewhere else before or after coming to me because Some taxpayers would shop around to see who is going to get them the most money possible.On April 17, I called her on the phone number had on record for her and the phone was not in service, It was not possible for me to mail a copy of her taxes to the IRS If the original tax was rejected because the copy would have to send to IRS by mail would not be signed by the taxpayer.The only option left was either to wait for the client to call me or send a letter to her in the mail hence could not get her on the phone.On that 15th of April when I prepared her taxes, I advised to contact the IRS to make a payment arrangement because she had a large tax liability.On the 21of April,she called me and before I could ever, tell her that am glad she called because her tax was rejected and my question to her was if she filed her taxes somewhere else,she accused me offiling her taxes and collected over I told her to calm down and explain to me again what she is saying because it seem she was accusing me of fraud.She then calmly explained to me that the IRS said that I filed her tax and collected over told her that it is impossible for the IRS to tell her that kind of information and that believe she did not understand what they may have been explaining to her, then informed her that if she is sure she did not file her taxes somewhere else,then she may have been a victim of identity fraud and in that case you have to back to my office to get a copy and include all other supporting informations that would be required by the IRS to clear her of this problem.She agreed and asked me when I will be leaving my office and I told her that I would wait until she gets to me but she said she would come another day and she would call me before she comes.never heard from her again until received this correspondence from Revdex.com.She obviously made this complaint against me on April 22nd. which was a day after we spoke.** *** was not charged any fees for late filling of her taxes because the IRS rule if your taxes was rejected by the Agency, you are giving ample time to make correction and send back to them.she is charged any penalties,it would be for underpaying her taxes to the government and that has nothing to do with my company or myself.In over 17yrs years of accounting and tax practice, have never had this kind of situation.I professionally and delligently prepared the income tax for ** *** and what ever may have happened with her taxes was not as a result of any unethical behavior or professional misconduct.] arm believing that ** *** did not want to pay for the service from the get go and that is why she lied that ** *** would charge her $I should be the one charging her for lying against me saying the IRS told her I committed fraud and know for a fact that she made up that charge.would be inclined to consider a refund of her fees if I did Something wrongrecently received a voice message from ** *** telling me that she wants to talk to me with her lawyerBased on this, will not refund her this money unless it is ordered by any a law court or mediation

I am rejecting this response because: I never told him how much the IRS stated was filed The IRS would not tell me that information, or any info about the amount filed The IRS just stated that the return filed showed I was married, which I am not, and that I was due a refund, but I knew I was not due a refund I did not shop around to see what other tax offices were charging I clearly did not get my taxes done by another firm and then come to his office to get my taxes done That would be stupid, as he stated I complained about the amount he was charging, so I would get my taxes done twice and pay twice That statement he made is absurd He had no way of contacting me- but he had my address He never even bothered to let me know that he tried to file and it was rejected He did not tell me to contact the IRS to set up a payment plan How would he know whether I was making a payment in full or not I do not discuss how I am going to pay the IRS with the person that prepares my taxes
