Review: I informed the sales person that I plan to use 72-Hour Visa-Free Transit to visit China for my OKC-TPE roundtrip tickets, with Beijing to be the outbound transfer city and Shanghai to be the returning transfer city. I even checked with the agent to make sure that I do not stay in either city for more than 72 hours. I booked two tickets, one for me and one for my husband. What I did not know was that the 72-Hour Visa-Free Transit requires individuals to enter and leave China from the same city. The travel agent from the Namei group booked me tickets that were completely unusable the moment it was booked. On the returning flight, we were suppose to leave Taipei to Shanghai on 6/** and leave Shanghai to OKC on 6/**, except that because she booked a ticket that leaves Shanghai to Beijing then to IAH. As a result, because my husband and I will leave China through Beijing, not Shanghai, we were deported back to Taipei on 6/** (after we arrived Shanghai around 9:30PM). As a result of this event, we incurred additional costs for the deportation (i.e., two tickets back to Taiwan) as well as rebooking a flight back to USA. When I contacted the agent from Taiwan after being deported from China, she informed me that there is nothing she can do and I have to handle all issues directly with the airline. Namei is a travel agency that specialize in US-China travel. They should be aware of the policy. Instead, they booked me a ticket that was completely unusable the moment it was booked.Desired Settlement: I would like the travel agency to refund half of the ticket price and the extra costs incurred as a result of the deportation.
