Namella Business Naming Reviews (4)

Everything looks great till they the charge your credit card, which is by the way step 1.
Very unprofessional, as they don't reply back in timely manner, phone and emails.
They came up with the worst names ever that doesn't mean anything.

Don't get impressed with the movie/link that they send you in the first email... as you should expect totally the opposite.

They ended up not providing me with a name for my company and refused to return the money.

Review: I purchased Namellas Brand Package for $167.00 which includes the following:1) The creation of a Unique, Memorable Name2) Unlimited Revisions3) Matching .COM Domain4) Phone & Email Support5) Custom Logo6) + $100 FREE Google Advertising1) Creation of a Unique, Memorable Name.Namella has in fact submitted name ideas for me to consider. They failed to even come close to generating an acceptable business name idea for me. Feedback to help them get on track with revisions were not followed. The company has simply stopped communicating with me. 2) Unlimited revisions. The company offers a guarantee to continue submitting ideas until they get it right. However, the company doesnt even return e-mails to me anymore so they obviously have no intention of a guarantee or unlimited revisions. 3) Matching .COM DomainWas NEVER delivered.4) Phone & Email SupportVERY poor. No follow up or follow through on ANYTHING beyond the first batch of name ideas.5) Custom LogoWas NEVER delivered.6) $100 FREE Google AdvertisingWas NEVER delivered.A refund was requested. I was told a boss would be getting back to me. That never happened. Not ANY attempt to resolve my issue or even negotiate a resolution with me. This leads me to think this company is not legitimate. They are a scam. NO reputable legitimate business treats their customers in this manner.I have filed a complaint with my bank Wells Fargo Commercial. I am in the process of filing legal complaints with the local and State Attorneys office. This company is in violation of the Federal Trade Commission Act under Section 5 of the Act, deceptive practices, misleading customers about a product or service.Desired Settlement: Namella may completely resolve this issue with me by providing a refund of $167.00. Honestly the time for a refund is passing quickly. The longer this drags on the more I feel this company should be stopped and investigated by the FTC.

Response:

Hi [redacted], This is in reference to ID [redacted]

Namella.com is a branding agency, our work involves understanding the client’s business and creating a suitable name for their business that contains an available “.com” domain. For more information about our services, please visit our website at www.namella.com.

Mr. [redacted] purchased our brand package (please see: www.namella.com/choose-your-package). This package includes our business name development services, and brand identity services (logo design).

Our deliverables are intangibles, they are branding identity ideas. We work with the client hand in hand to craft a brand that is effective and dynamic.

After the checkout process, the client provides answers to our questionnaire that describes their business. We use this information to come up with potential brand strategies for the client. Our Initial Branding Presentation was sent out on April 14, 2014. We received 3 requests from Mr. Clark that requested we keep sending him ideas. He requested a refund on May 2, 2014. Our terms and conditions of our site specifically do not allow for refunds. Please see our refund policy at Namella.com (can be easily found in the FAQ page as well as Policies and Terms of use in the footer).

The client retained our services as a consultant, and we delivered the work that was requested. We made every effort to ensure satisfaction of the client and were more than willing to continue working with the client on their project.

Because we only began the naming portion of the project (and not the logo design phase), we are willing to refund a partial payment of $70. However, the client mentioned that he was in talks with his bank to issue a chargeback on the fee paid to us. If the client has issued a chargeback, then issuing a refund will be logistically difficult for us.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Best,

Review: I am disputing my charge from [redacted] (Namella) for 97 dollars. Originally the charge was for 167 because it included a name for my business and a logo. Since they did not give me a name I could use for my business there was no way to use their logo services to design the name. I would like the rest of my money back because I need to hire another company to give me a name for my new business.

Namella promises unlimited revisions for company names. Which sounds great, how could you go wrong with such a promise? But what they don’t tell you is that they are going to waste so much of your time, give you such ridiculous names, and be such poor communicators that you become so frustrated that you give up and let them keep your money without ever being given the product you were promised . I need a name for a public speaking business that I want to start. I plan to give speeches to college students about budget travel. I have extensive experience with this. The name has to have a travel component and a speaking component. If it has a travel component only it could be misconstrued as a travel agency. Namella gave me the name “Snoring above the Clouds.” There is no typo here- they literally wrote snoring (as in the loud and annoying noise some people make when sleeping). I believe they are ranked at an F from previous complaints.

I asked to speak to the manager and I was forwarded to Chad Swanson. He told me that he wanted to personally work on my name and if he couldn’t come up with a name that I liked he’d return my money. He agreed that “Snoring above the Clouds” was insulting and absolutely unacceptable and apologized for the fact that his employees provided such low quality names and wasted my time.

When I filed a complain with American express they were very compliant- but they are not complaint when not under scrutiny and went back on their promise. They were hired to help me and they have hurt me.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back and I would like my experience to go on record so that other consumers are warned of the experiences they might have with this company.

Review: On 04/02/2014, I placed an order #225101849 for $97.00 and order #225104163 for $30 with a company named Namella which purports expertise in business-naming services: http://www.namella.com/ .

When the order was placed, I expected them to develop a business name and a slogan for my new company. This is what their website represented during the sign-up process:

“The Name Package is best for companies that don't need a logo. It provides an effective business name with a matching “.com” domain. Your satisfaction is 100% no questions asked, hands down, guaranteed! If you don’t like what our team comes up with, then we will keep working until we get it right.”

I instructed them on my preferences, and they started working. In the course of the next three weeks, they came up with 20+ names that were all turned down by me because none of them were even remotely near the ballpark. After three weeks, it became apparent to me that this exercise was going nowhere. I didn’t have time to keep churning the names – I needed to register the company.

On 04/18/2014, I voiced my strong concern for the first time.

Namella responded the same day, and from their response I inferred they actually agreed with me and were willing to break off – so I asked them to process the refund.

On 04/21/2014, Namella responded that they cannot offer the refund “due to the high cost of labor”.

I replied the same day, saying it was not acceptable, and demanded the refund again.

On 04/22/2014, Namella agreed to issue refund, saying:

“I apologize that we could not come to a conclusion on your project! I will have my Chief Branding Officer forward over that refund as soon as he can. We wish you the best of luck in your future business endeavors!”

On 05/05/2014, I wrote to Namella demanding the refund since nothing had happened since our last communication.

On 05/08/2014, Namella issued a refund for $30.

On 05/13/2014, I had to write to Namella again, demanding the refund for $97. To which Namella replied:

“Hi [redacted], we do not offer a money back guarantee on work we've already begun (please see the FAQ on our website- first question). The refund you did receive reflects the slogan portion of the project that was not started.”

At that point I decided I had enough and placed the request for Disputed Transaction with my bank (pending).

All related correspondence may be presented, if needed.Desired Settlement: All I want is the refund for $97. I did not get what I expected from the service - and never have used or will use any intermediary variants Namella produced.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Namella should not get off the hook just because they have a corresponding provision in an obscure document somewhere on their website which is not readily available for new customers to view when they are signing up. MOREOVER, even it it had been fully and clearly disclosed, it would still have not enabled the defense Namella is trying to pull. To re-affirm: I made it ABSOLUTELY clear to Namella that they were not performing up to my expectations. What they claim, essentially, is that it didn't matter, and that once I signed up for their service, there was no walking out.

Let me use an analogy: suppose, you want to order a bespoke suit. You go to a tailor and explain to them what you want. They say, "yes, of course". You place a deposit for their service. Next comes a fitting. At Fitting 1, you see that both the fabric and the style are absolutely not what you expected. The tailor says, "no problem, I'll fix it for you". Fitting 2 comes - and you see that the suit is still totally off. "No problem - we'll fix it". Fitting 3, fitting 4, fitting 5, etc. - EVERY time you see that this is NOT what you ordered and expected. You need this suit to attend an important business meeting, so you just can't wait eternally. You throw your hands up in the air and say, "I've had enough! I don't have time for this! Just refund me for the deposit!" To which the tailor says, "But, we are willing to do as many iterations as needed to make it right" and then use it as a defense to avoid the refund.

Let me take it to an extreme: using the same exact logic, Namella could have fed me with letters of alphabet instead of the name I asked them to come up with. And to each and every rejection of mine, they could've said the same exact thing: "we'll fix it for you" - and continue wit letters, digits, windings, and whatnot. And claim I was not entitled for a refund because "they are committed to make it right".

Sorry - but if it's not there, it's just not there. And I do not intend to spend half of my life waiting until the tailor makes it right. It's just a WRONG tailor.

All I want is my refund, that's all.

Regards,
