Please see Attachment which provides our response to complaint # [redacted] - [redacted] with supporting documents; and Attachment which is a recording of the confirmation call regarding the transaction in question

In September our air conditioner crashed for the third time in six years [redacted] was the installer and after paying them twice to fix it I wasn’t going to call them again Since I had a Goettl unit on a previous home and based on a recommendation from a current Goettl customer I called Goettl The technician that responded told me the unit had lost all of the coolant Rather than spend more money on that unit I requested a new heat pump I explained the issues with the current air distribution (hot and cold areas) Technician acknowledges issues and says we’ll take care of it A date was scheduled to install the new unit and the technicians showed up as planned Technicians worked all day and well into the evening to get the new unit installed My first concern was the use of the white Teflon tape (water line tape) used when they capped the natural gas service to the old furnace The density of the tape is not the same as the yellow Teflon tape used on gas lines A new programmable thermostat was installed, but there was no instruction book on how to program the thermostat The next day the technicians returned and replaced the thermostat with a basic model and left the booklet No other information on the new unit was provided or any information on servicing, or warranty was provided The next morning in the day light I found a number of sheet metal screws in the garage floor, and driveway The installers did try to clean up before they left, but it was dark by then and they didn’t get everything Future flat tires were expected When I went into the attic a significant amount of trash was left in the attic and I cleaned it up I also found a wealth of free sheet metal screws laying everywhere I also noticed the flexible duct work was not installed correctly It looked like a roller coaster The next item to be scheduled was a time for the ducts to be cleaned and sanitized At the same time the person was to fix the flexible duct work in the attic The flexible duct work needed to be disconnected, stretched and trimmed The excess duct work causes an air flow restriction when not installed properly When Goettl came out to clean the ducts I helped them fix the duct work to ensure it was done right I turned on the fan to the unit to circulate the air in the house and the fan didn’t seem to come on A technician came out and changed wiring in the attic and the fan started blowing The change then caused the unit to not function when the heat was turned on Another technician came out to fix the wiring and explained that by itself the fan runs very slowly as part of energy efficient feature Ok air and heat work again, but not sure whether fan should or shouldn’t work better by itself to circulate air in the house A new amp service was added to the house for the new unit The wire meandered through the attic with lots of extra wire and comes up across the platform rather than around the stud creating a tripping hazard In the electrical box no blank was installed when the amp breaker was removed, and no electrical tape put on one of the hot wires for the new breaker to indicate it was a hot wire Later I would learn they used the wrong breaker for that type of panel First time changing the filters since the new air conditioner was installed Goettl had installed new grills or holders where the filters are for the return air In order to get them closed again I have to twist one of them to get it closed because they didn’t install them squarely in the opening An electrician from the Solar Panel Company was inspecting the home and taking measurements in preparation for the installation of the solar system He identified a concern about the use of the wrong type of circuit breaker, the empty slot where the amp breaker was removed, and the wire not being taped in the electrical box to indicate it was hot His concern was that when the city inspectors came out to inspect his work they wouldn’t pass it due to these other issues I called Goettl and an electrician came out inspected the electrical box, replaced the breaker with the correct type, taped the wire, and installed a blank I noticed that the outside unit was leaking oil The technician came out and said the valve was just over tightened He adjusted it and said it was ok After he left I put a piece of cardboard under the valve (not being very trusting at this point) and sure enough it was still leaking Technician came out again and said the valve had to be replaced When the new valve came in they came out again and replaced the valve Leak is now fixed I mentioned to the tech that I had not received any documentation of the warranty I would bring this up multiple times to no avail While prepping the house to paint in the spring of I noticed the new electrical conduit that was installed on the exterior had come loose from the wall They used plastic dry wall anchors on exterior stucco wall I replaced the plastic anchors with larger metal anchors and added an additional clamp to hold the conduit in place It’s now the summer of during the start of the monsoon I noticed some water coming out of the drain pipe for the overflow drain and nothing from the main drain I went into the attic and there was water on the deck below the secondary drain pan Water was dripping from the unit into the pan and the pan was leaking at the fitting I called Goettl and a technician said the problem was that the unit was not hung level so the water could get to the main drain and the PVC fitting on the secondary drain pan was not sealed properly This problem would continue until the spring of The technician made some leveling adjustments with rubber pads and sealed the PVC drain connection to the overflow pan with PVC glue He didn’t have any silicone caulk with him so I later added silicone caulk around the PVC fitting However the unit was still leaking into the drain pan and little or no water making its way to the main drain Another call was made to get a technician to level the unit so it would drain properly The leak has been going on for so long I was concerned the overflow pan was going to rust through before they got it fixed When the original technician told me Goettl would take care of the hot and cold areas in the house I was under the impression that they would be taken care of Imagine my surprise when I was handed an estimate for additional work At this point I decided to fix it myself Although I have been told I have a year warranty with years on the compressor I have no documentation on what the warranty covers or any other requirements Since my trust in Goettl has waned I again requested some documentation on the warranty so I have a good understanding of what is and isn’t covered I have mentioned it to several technicians and have not received anything from Goettl I have no idea how many of their technicians looked at the water leakage problem, but I’m encouraged now The latest tech to look at the problem says the only thing he can think of is the evaporator coil is cracked He ordered the part and scheduled the install After he was done he said the old coil didn’t have any visible cracks and he said the PVC fitting to the drain was loose and the coil may not have needed to be replaced Either way it’s now March of and the unit is no longer leaking I do have a nice rust stain on the side of the house from the years of leaking Only years and months after the initial install to fix the problem It’s now October and the unit is not cooling the house It’s Sunday and I called Goettl for a repair They are scheduled to come out between 10:AM and 2:PM They arrived just before noon check the system and tell my wife it will be $ When my wife mentioned the warranty the tech called the office He was told the warranty I paid at a minimum several thousand dollars for and probably more was void He was told it was void because I didn’t have the unit serviced twice a year and that the customer should read his contract I went back and read all of the paper they gave me and there is nothing in there that indicates a requirement to have the unit serviced twice a year Perhaps that is the warranty information I had requested numerous times? From the above you can see that Goettl’s performance was at a minimum sloppy on the initial install and it took years and months to correct the problems As far as the warranty and providing the customer with the information they would need to comply Goettl is negligent or perhaps it’s was part of the plan to dup customers so they wouldn’t have to provide the future service under warranty? I will add that all of the technicians were very courteous I had stopped documenting the issues back in July 2014, but after my recent experience I have decided to continue as you can see from above I would have to say anyone considering using Goettl should pass and a find a more professional firm

They were on time; did not take any breaks, cleaned up the area I was very satisfied with their service

Re: [redacted] Complaint # [redacted] (corrected 4/12/15)In response to Mr [redacted] additional comments, I think it fair to fill in the rest of the story as it differs from Mr [redacted] versionOn 3-25-a technician from Goettl responded to a maintenance call on an approximately 29-yrold unit at Mr [redacted] ’ home that was originally manufactured by GoettlWe are very familiar with servicing these units. After the technician performed his inspection of the unit he informed Mr [redacted] of his finding, which are clearly stated on the front of the invoice provided. And they are; Blower capacitor below specsCondenser Fan motor capacitor well below specsCompressor capacitor deadContactor “Badly melted”Compressor lugs melted (wire connectors)The entire blower compartment was filled with mold growth. Our technician discussed these with Mr [redacted] and that he could make repairs to the unit, but given the age and condition of the unit he recommended against itOur technician knows that melted wire connectors and failed capacitors are caused by something, not goodHe personally felt uncomfortable leaving the unit running in its current condition, however he did leave it operational and Mr [redacted] knows thisThe temperatures at this time were very mild.Mr [redacted] having been fully informed of the list of items on the invoice, asked the technician if he would do him a “favor” and disconnect the unit so it would not run; he didn’t want to put any more money in that old systemWith ambient temperatures as mild as they were at the time and the age and condition of the unit our technician was reluctant to start a series of repairs not knowing where that might end upThe technician removed the fuses and left them there. In a follconversation with the Tucson GM, Mr [redacted] stated that the other company had to cut off the ends of the burnt wiring and put on new connectors and did replace some failed parts to get the unit running again However, because we recommend against making repairs to this unit is no cause at all to claim we are untrustworthy or dishonest as stated and impliedMr [redacted] also stated to the GM that our technician claimed “the unit could catch on fire,” but when pressed he admitted the tech never made that statement When the technician was closing out the ticket Mrs [redacted] was very agitated by the bad news regarding their three decade old unit that had lasted two times its expected life and practically threw the check at the technicianWith regards to Mr [redacted] title, he was there as a comfort advisor to perform the evaluations we require and energy departments expectOf course he has had additional assignments in the past.Mr [redacted] admits he became offended with the [redacted] due to the treatment he received from Mrs [redacted] From the minute he walked through the door Mrs [redacted] appeared to be agitated, curt and hostel to himThe fact that she was calling other HVAC companies with Mr [redacted] present clearly shows the lack of common courtesy one person would normally give to anotherAfter the discourteous treatment received, Mr [redacted] finally stated that he was not sure what he did or why Mrs [redacted] was so upset and stated that our company was not a good fit for them When the comfort advisor left, Mr [redacted] walked Mr [redacted] out and apologizedWith regards to Mr [redacted] ’ comments regarding trying to sell him a new A/C stand he didn’t need and what we charge vswhat another company charges who does not do the same quality of work or provide similar guarantees.; We didn’t try to sell him anything he didn’t need, we simple told him that we do not reuse old parts like an old roof stand not dimensioned for the new unit, or old electrical disconnects, or old transitions to the ductwork These are all included new in our standard pricingMounting a new unit on an old roof stand does not meet the expectations or standards of most of our clientsEverything we install is new and while other companies choose to do less we prefer to do moreWe could do cheaper work if we reused old partsOur policy is to do a first class job and we make no apologies for having high quality standardsWe also provide industry leading guarantees, heat load calculations and equipment sizing to industry requirements, and assist the client with obtaining any permits they are required to get and we cover that expense The GM did offer to go out and verify the technician’s finding with the customer and have the other company present as wellThe customer refused that offer. The insinuation that the GM intended something derogatory about the army is simply falseThe company’s support of veterans of all services is well documented as the attached article about our CEO showsWe employ a number of veterans and personally support the [redacted] as well [redacted] initiatives such as Boys and Girls stateI personally support veteran’s organizations as does our CEO and as I am sure Mr [redacted] does as wellThe company was aware of Mr [redacted] ’ veteran’s status having applied a veteran’s discount to his invoice (now 100% refunded.) The Revdex.com is well aware that Goettl Good Guys continues to be in good standing with all government agencies and has been since its inception in December We have refunded the $service fee (see attached) as a gesture of support for the mission of the Revdex.com and an accommodation to Mr [redacted] who said that is what he wanted [redacted] ***Chairman

The company has avoided refunding me part of my service contract that I want cancelledI have called twice and was told someone would get back to meTo date, this has not happened
Also, I believe that his company deals in an unscrupulous mannerThe seven years that I have had work done on a unit that I purchased from the they have tried to sell me something each time they came out for a service callThey also failed to address a major issue on my a/c unit that resulted in failure
There response time on a service call is horrible

I was trying to pack up some old home stuff in my attic this past August It was about outside, but my attic had to be about degreesI’m surprised I didn’t pass out coming down the ladder I’m not very knowledgeable on house heating and cooling, but this seemed too hotI did a little digging online and decided to call Goettl, and they suggested that we wait until the winter to do attic work so I called them again last week They helped me decide between an attic fan or ventilation system to equalize internal and outdoor temperatures in my attic The service man Aaron was very knowledgeable and friendly and have me several options to solve the problem It would never be cool up there in the summer but this would allow for a temperature more online with the weather Thank you Aaron and Goettl A/C

I recently decided to purchase and AC unit from Goettl Air because our current unit was years old and had a leak in the coilGoettl came out and we decided on a unit and a date of installationWe were told at the time that we had hours to rescind the offer and that our credit application would not be input until after the installation of the new unitWe decided to go with another AC company within that hour time frame and expected Goettl to live up to what they said they would do and not process the credit applicationYou can imagine our surprise when we get a welcome to GreenSky credit and for an amount we never agreed to in first placeGoettl made a verbal agreement with us which in the state of Arizona is binding and then when we cancelled with them processed a credit application for a product and service that was not ever installedThis company in no way, shape or form represents the original Goettl except the nameI would recommend not buying their products or services for any reason

The system Ms*** *** purchased carried the manufacturer’s year limited parts warranty which was registered to Ms***, the original purchaser of the equipmentGoettl was called by Mr***s regarding an issue with this AC system and Goettl diagnosed
a defective evaporator coilAfter receiving Mr***’s authorization, Goettl replaced the defective coil with a new coil and replaced the systems refrigerantGoettl made numerous reductions and honored club membership discounts for the labor and new refrigerant, although Mr***s has cancelled his club membershipWith travel time and part sourcing the repair took an entire day to completeGoettl made every accommodation that it could to reduce the cost of the repair, as Mr***s has described in his complaintGoettl does not have any record of Ms*** equipment warranty being transferred, or registered to Mr***, which is required by the manufacturer in order for him to be covered under Ms***’ parts warrantyGoettl honored the parts warranty anywayI believe Mr***s knows and certainly the Revdex.com does that honoring a warranty does not extend or re-start the warranty over. I.ethe replacement of the alternator on a vehicle with a 75,mile warranty does not restart the 75,mile warrantyand of course the Company is not authorized by any manufacturer to modify or extend the term of a manufacturer’s warranty in any way I certainly understand why Mr*** would be upset with the failure of the coil on a few year old systemGoettl provides a two year labor and parts warranty on this repairWe are confident in the quality of the work of our technicians. In this case, in consideration of Mr***’s inconvenience and aggravation, Goettl offers to double that and extend to Mr***’s a parts and labor warranty on the new coil and associated labor for four years from the date of the replacement of the defective coil at no charge, if that will resolve his complaint

Great service!

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I found some misrepresentations and falsifications in the
response
The issues with the unit were disclosed which was when I
began asking about a new unit, especially when I heard that the unit was
years oldInstead we were told that the cost is unknownThis caused me to
feel pressured to just continue with the repairman who was present who assured
me basically that the cost didn’t matter because we could put it toward their
unitIf the repairman could have given me even a ballpark price for a new
unit, we would have realized that the company was out of our price range and
would have sought other offers at that time, before any repairs were doneI would
like to note here that our purpose of putting this complaint together is not
because we think your company charges too much, but that it tricks and
pressures people into paying too much
The option document was not created until after the repairs
were completed, and after the technician realized the air handler could not be
repairedI initialed the other options because they had already been done and
he told me to initial there and NOT on the “Do Nothing” option
The reason I agreed to the annual maintenance agreement was
because the price of the savings was said to be greater than the cost of the
annual maintenance agreementWithout going with this option, the cost of
repairs would have been even greater than the high $
We did not waive a day right to cancel to install the air
conditionerThe waiver of right to cancel was for the cost of the repairsI
was told how to fill it out; however, you may notice that the box is not
checked stating that I acknowledge and waive my right to cancel in three days
See it in your attachment
We did not cancel the replacement just because my father in
law knows someone in the business (although his friend works in Tucson and yet
knew of your poor reputation and history)We also canceled because we did not
feel comfortable continuing to do business with you based on how we were
treated
The repair prices were not documented until after completed
Again, my complaint is not that “I can
get it cheaper” elsewhere, it is that we feel we were conned and pressured into
the pricesWe were not fully informed about of all of the options because the
technician could not inform us of the cost of a replacement unit In regards to your operations manager
attempting to call my father in law, he did not receive any messages or my
father in law would have quickly respondedI have confirmed this with him that
no messages were received

We have been customers of Goettl Good Guys Air Conditioning for several years now and, in recent years, we have noticed a troublesome pattern in their business practices when it comes to maintenance serviceThey are quite persistent when trying to sell their "Good Guys Maintenance Membership" which, amongst other things, promises members two tune-ups per year and discounted prices on repairsOur unit is about years old and was highly recommended by their sales representative as being built with the highest quality parts and materialsAs members of their maintenance program, our monthly fees cover the cost of two semi-annual tune-upsOddly enough, however, during every single tuvisit, the technicians end up warning us of an urgent need to replace one part or another (capacitor, wiring, etc.) at "discounted" prices running anywhere from $to $This, mind you, on a 3-year-old unit that is still under-warranty and is supposedly built with "the highest quality parts"My husband was very skeptical about the last technician's claim that something needed to be urgently replaced for close to $in order to prevent a serious unit malfunction that could later cost us upward of $He decided not to have Goettl complete this repair and instead called a second HVAC company that he has worked with through his employment for nearly yearsWe paid this second company (who is Revdex.com-accredited, by the way) $to have them take a look at the unit and, sure enough, this second technician did not find the same issue or any other concern with our unitOf course, we have decided to discontinue our membership with Goettl and will no longer work with them in the future eitherIt is sad that their business has gone in the direction of using deceptive practices to make a few more bucks per customerDon't know if those extra bucks are worth losing the consumer's trust and, ultimately, the consumer's business

Dispute
ResolutionConsultant June 11th, 2015Revdex.comRe: Complaint#: ***;***As you may know, Goettl Good Guys Air Conditioning (a DBA of Phoenix Peach, LLC) began its operations on December 1st 2012. Goettl Good Guys did not sell or install the Air Conditioning unit at the *** residence or provide service prior to Goettl Good Guys agreed to service inforce warranties from the former owners of Goettl and has honored hundreds of warranties and has been responsive to the ***’s calls for warranty service since 2013. According to our records and shown on the attached invoice, the $charge in was for the purchase of Dynamic filter media, not a charge for a repair as stated by the client Our records show that the ***’s have experienced a number of issues with the unit since 2009, primarily involving the run capacitors We believe that the best course of action for finally resolving any concerns regarding the reliability of the unit is to have the manufacturer’s technical representative meet with a Goettl Good Guys senior technician at the *** residence to inspect and perform a complete audit of the installation and the unit’s performance metrics against the manufacturer’s specifications. This inspection and audit would be at no cost to the client. Any deficiencies found in the installation, workmanship, as well as materials will be corrected by Goettl Good Guys; and any deficiencies found in equipment or parts that fall under the parts and labor warranty will be corrected at no charge. We will contact the client this week to arrange for the inspection and audit of their system by the manufacturer’s representative at their convenience. Goettl Good Guys has responded to and honored each of the calls for warranty serviceGoettl Good Guys has not been called upon to perform annual maintenance inspections in recent years or provide filter mediaWe assume these important services have been performed by othersWe do not believe a complaint against Goettl Good Guys is warranted*** ***Goettl Good Guys AirConditioning

Our assigned technician John from Goettl was very courteous and resolved our issue quickly He was thorough checking our system out completelyHe was very honest with us about potential future issues that might occur due to the history of our unitNone were noted at this time

I had heard the ads for Goettl which made them sound like choir boysWe had them come in to get a quote to clean our air ductsThey came to look at the runs and quoted us over $to clean our duct runsOur house is small, only sq ft, ranchThey also had sold us a "GOOD GUYS CLUB" for $over the phone, which include a free tune up with a coil cleaningThe ads said that they did the cleaning right because they used a method that "cleaned the mineral buildup (which they compare to plaque)The technician said he never heard of that and proceeded to spray the coils with the outside water hose, which in their ads had chided other companies for doing! I had to leave the house to run an errand and I got to thinking that the $estimate sounded like a lot so called my husband and said to hold off on the duct cleaning which he did but the amount they charged us was not reflective of deducting the entire $but was actually about $260+ more than what it should have beenI called and complained to Goettl and they did after sI did not ome time, refund that overageI did check other companies online to clean air ducts and they were ALL much cheaper*** charged $for up to duct runs!!! I was appauled
Now this past week Goettl calls and said they were ready to our "free" maintenance
tune up from our GOOD GUYS contractI called them back I told them I was not happy with our past experience and that I did not want them to come and did not want them to call us anymoreSo she "graciously" volunteered to cancel our contract but no offer to refund any part of the $cost of their "free" maintenance tune ups for a year which would have expired March of What a joke!
DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE DARKEN YOUR DOORSThe "free" inspection is
just a license to have the opportunity to RIP you off royally
