Review: I, together with a group of friends (5 of us in total) arrived at the Nando's Peri Peri establishment on April 4th at approximately 9:45pm. We were seated on the second floor level at booth 25. We placed an order on our food and just before our meal was brought to our table, the customers in the booth adjacent to ours noticed a large roach that eventually crawled over to our side of the booth. At that time, the Nando's server was approaching with our meals and we immediately alerted him to the roach we spotted. Almost immediately after, we noticed another vey large roach near the ceiling sitting on a pipe. I told the server that we would need to speak to a manager and he swiftly left to call the manager. Within a minute, the manager, named [redacted], arrived to our table and asked us what the problem was. I explained to him that there are roaches in their establishment in which I also pointed them out to him as they were still in sight. He saw them and acknowledged them but his response was "this is DC, roaches are everywhere, what do you expect me to do?". Then I asked [redacted] what is he going to do as the manager now that he knows that there is a problem. His response was, "What do you want to do?". I stated that we should not pay for our meal. He immediately got angered and said that my request was unreasonable. My wife then asked him why he was getting so upset and defensive and his response was "because he is an [redacted]", referring to myself. He then walked away without concluding the issue. This altercation was witnessed by the other customers in the next booth. My wife, [redacted], went to find the manager [redacted] and decided to tell him how rude and disrespectful he was. I also came to process our refund and I told him that I would be filing a complaint. He continued to be belligerent by insinuating a physical fight with me, stating he will "take the matter outside". After that statement, he walked away. His subordinates, were helpful enough to apologize and provide our refunds.Desired Settlement: We would like a formal apology from the manager for not appropriately addressing the cockroach issue and assuring customers that the infestation would be taken care of and for being extremely rude and disrespectful. Additionally, the company should highly reconsider the future employment of [redacted] as their manager at this establishment. Lastly, we have video evidence that is not supported as an attachment in this formal complaint but is available as evidence.
