My husband needed a new battery so went to Napa to purchase. He came home and went to put battery in and found he was sold the incorrect battery. He then went back to exchange the battery. At this point he was given two other options to purchase and chose one based on employee's suggestion. This battery required my husband to mix acid in to the battery himself which he did when he came home. He then had to charge the battery (also purchased at Napa). Once fully charged he attempted to install and again found it was the incorrect battery. We attempted to return the battery but was told very rudely that since the acid had been mixed they will not accept it back.I then explained the above situation and that we trusted the Napa employees to sell us the correct battery as we are not mechanical. Was continued to be treated very rudely and refused to be given a refund even though it was their store that sold us the wrong battery two times. I then informed the employee that I would be contacting their corporate office to which I was again rudely told, "I am corporate, I make all decisions and there is no Napa corporate. You can't get a refund.". All three times we went in not one employee was wearing a mask either, very upsetting. I contacted Napa corporate who informed me since they are independently owned there was nothing they could do.

On or around 5/20/20 the husband placed an order through the NAPAonline.com website for a battery for a motorcycle (sold dry and needed to be filled and charged), when he came to the store he realized his mistake and was sold the "ready to use" equivalent. Later that day he called back to explain the battery he purchased had the connections on the opposite sides of where he needed them and said the battery was not connected (unused). We agreed to exchange for one that would fit his application. He was advised to bring in the old battery so we could try match what he had as the catalog listing did not match what was in the motorcycle for reasons unkown. When he arrived on 5/23, we did not have an exact match, but he was shown 2 batteries that were close in size with the connections in the correct locations. He was also offered a refund at the time and to take his old battery back to try another store/dealership to get the exact one. In his haste to purchase a battery to get the motorcycle running, the CUSTOMER made the decision on which battery to purchase as well as a charger to charge the battery and left the old batter with the store. Three (3) weeks later, a woman came back to the store to try and return the battery claiming she was sold the wrong battery. She was then asked if the battery was filled with acid, to which she responded yes and was told we could not take it back. The return policy is clearly posted on BOTH sales counters. This includes a 14 day return policy, as well as the policy of "NO RETURN ON ELECTRICAL ITEMS". Once electrical items are used, we can not resell or return them to our supplier. When she did not receive the result she wanted-because it was against our posted policy, she threatened to call the corporate office and the Revdex.com.

I still have many issues with the way I was treated while in the store and that Napa claims to be “the know how store.” When they clearly sold us the wrong battery two times. We are not mechanical people and this is why we went their to trust their so called expertise. We will never shop at Napa again and have told many friends and family our terrible experience. To our surprise they have also had similar experiences at this very same Napa.
