Upon Ms [redacted] departure from our hotel Housekeeping informed me that the room smelled of smokeI inspected the room and confirmed the smoke smell and discovered a discarded cigarette butt in the trash of the room (see attachment)Since the room needed to be placed out of order for deep cleaning, resulting in lost revenue, Ms [redacted] was charged $as outlined in our non smoking policy (see attachment)Ms [redacted] contacted the hotel by both phone and email stating that no one in her party had smoked in the roomSeeking a compromise, and taking into account the lost revenue, Ms [redacted] was offered a refund of 50% of the smoking feeMs [redacted] initially refused the refund, but as 1:14pm today (August 1, 2017) she acceptedWe have issued a refund in the amount go $and consider the matter closed [redacted] Front Office Manager

Ms. [redacted] contacted the hotel by both phone and email stating that no one in her party had smoked in the room. Seeking a compromise, and taking into account the lost revenue, Ms. [redacted] was offered a refund of 50% of the smoking fee. Ms. [redacted] initially refused the refund, but as 1:14pm today (August 1, 2017) she accepted. We have issued a refund in the amount go $150.00 and consider the matter closed.
