Napletons Ellwood City Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Reviews (2)

Review: I purchased a 2015 Jeep Patriot from Napleton Jeep in Ellwood City, Pa.

During the signing of the contract, the finance Manager entered an incorrect amount for tax and registration.

Also "slipped a third party dent repair contract in with the rest of the paperwork I was signing, I never agreed

to this , nor was I explained the details of it after I had turned down the previously offered extended warranty"

To my knowledge , in the state of Pennsylvania the F&I Manager is required to be licensed and know the required

taxes and fees to charge. Not the consumers job. After informing the dealer that the state of North Carolina was short in the amount of fees required for title, registration, taxes, etc... I had to pay out of pocket. It was all supposed to be financed in the loan. Also the price changed at the time of signing the contract and I was given the reason that there had been dealer fees to get the loan approved, I was in a bind at the time of this purchase and just excepted the F&I managers answer. Later that week I received a call from the lending institution ([redacted] Financial) to verify my employment information and get an accurate work number. The woman I spoke with informed me that the only fees charged in the process of this loan was the interest rate I would be paying. No buy fees had been included in this loan or charged to the dealer as I was told by the F&I manager. (Alan) This to me is very fraudulent.

I later called the dealer and also faxed a copy of the taxes required by North Carolina, only to be told it is not the dealers problem. I disagree, he is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to know what his job entails and also not to partake in fraudulent activity. Also, I was issued a 30 day temp plate , however the paperwork was never mailed to North Carolina until approx. 15 days later, after I had to call to find out where the paperwork was at because the state had not received it yet, this caused a major delay in the paperwork required to get the vehicle registered in North CarolinaDesired Settlement: 1. Investigate the practice of a so called buy fee from the financial institution, ([redacted] FINANCIAL) to determine if they charged the dealer any type of fee to approve this loan.

2. I would like the dealer to reimburse me for the out of pocket fees I have paid to the state of North Carolina that was specifically supposed to be included in the loan, It is not my responsibility to know the amount needed to take out, that is the job of the finance Manager. Here is a simple link that would help him do his job correctly,

http://www.[redacted]

It took me less than two minutes to find that link.

3. I would like an in store credit of $1000.00 to make up for what I believe was (until proven otherwise) was a fraudulent practice claiming the price increase of the vehicle at the time of the paperwork signing was due to a "buy fee" from Ally Financial, and I was told this is the only way the dealer could absorb those fee's.

Response:

Dear [redacted]I am writing this letter in response to a consumer complaint ID number [redacted] It was submitted on November 20th, 2015.We regret that the customer did not feel his experience was excellent at our location. Mr. [redacted] worked specifically with me on this deal, as I was the one who took his initial phone call to sales. Mr. [redacted] let me know up front that his credit was challenged and also that he worked in the dealership environment previously as a finance manager so that he was very comfortable with the process and paperwork. I worked diligently to ensure he was able to secure financing. Once we had a loan secured on a vehicle the customer had selected, he came back to us and wanted a more expensive model vehicle. This is the only place where the price increased and it was because he chose a more expensive model. The customer still had a discount off of MSRP.In regards to his paperwork for the North Carolina DMV, we processed his paperwork and sent it via Federal Express to the North Carolina DMV. We provided the customer with the information from Fed Ex including time and date of delivery as well as the signature on the package. The DMV there then lost the paperwork, which is completely out of our control. The customer's claims of "slipping in a dent repair policy" as well as adding bank fees to his deal are completely untrue and have no basis. The customer is not owed anything at this time.Mark C[redacted] General Manager

Review: I called multiple times over the course of approximately 2 weeks in order to get help regarding a purchase. Eventually I spoke to a manager on Friday Feb 5th 2016. The manager Mark C[redacted] helped me work out the details of the truck I was purchasing. He sent me a signed buyers agreement that stated the price we agreed on. We agreed that since I was flying in from WA state that it was best to have the financing done ahead of time. I had my bank [redacted] send me, which I in turn forwarded to Napleton dealership. I called the finance dept to assure they received the documents and they did. The finance dept called me to discuss the process and said everything would be good to go when I arrived the following week. Later I received an email stating the documents were being sent that day. I purchased airfare tickets to Pittsburgh from Seattle for the trip. Sunday I had not heard anything so I emailed Mark to make sure everything was good. I received an email stating they would not be able to complete the transaction. Mark said that they sold the truck to someone on Saturday and that given the "circumstances and distance" it was too difficult. Mark also said that the dealership called [redacted] on Saturday and were told by [redacted] that it had not been processed yet. I spoke to [redacted] today and they told me that the dealership received payment in full on Saturday. I called Mark to ask why the vehicle was sold when they had already received payment. Mark told me they did not receive payment. I told Mark that I thought the person who bought the vehicle paid more than the lower price we had agreed on. Mark replied with "do you have ESP?" I asked if I was wrong and he said it was none of my concern. I have pictures of the price they lowered the vehicle to on the day we set it all up which was $28,300 down from $28,500. I placed the offer of $27,000 which mark agreed to and signed on the buyers order. On the 7th the ad was pulled down but the price was still listed which had been bumped back up to $28,500 which is a good indication they sold the truck to someone else for much more money than they were paid by me ([redacted]). After I disputed marks claim that payment was not received, he then said that since I was thousands of miles away he "didn't want to go down that road" when I asked why they took my money and agreed to the situation to begin with, he said " the vehicle has no warranty and if it breaks down that I could just cancel payment and they didn't want to deal with that mess. I promptly told Mark "that is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard" and Mark hung up on me. I have attempted MULTIPLE times to call and speak to other managers and the owner with no success. Now I have to wait 24-48 hours for the dealership to return my money before I can purchase another vehicle. I now also have to pay a fee for an item that I was going to bring back with me in the purchased truck. I cannot believe they treated me this way, and operate in such a manner. They deceived me, and I was lied to, in order to make a bigger sales commission.Desired Settlement: I would like their overall poor business practices, lying to me, taking my money and then selling the truck to someone else, to be noted on Revdex.com
