I want to share the experience my son had at Steve Napleton Mazda dealership in Schaumburg Illinois recently.
Please help spread the word...and DO NOT go there because you will be taking a chance of getting screwed by them. I did send a letter to the Better Business Bureau regarding this experience.
My son went in to buy a used car. this dealership had a car that had everything he was looking for. before he bought the car he asked them to do a diagnostic test to make sure there were no major issues and do an oil change. they assured him that they did so he purchased the car. after 24 hours the check engine light went on so it was taken to a mechanic. they said there was no way the car passed inspection or had an oil change. the variable valve timing is displaced 30 degrees and the oil had metal shavings, is black as black and smells like gasoline! (Indicating poor engine health) the dealership said they will only give him $1,500 less than he purchased the car for and only if he buys a more expensive car!
this is a horrible dealership! DO NOT GO THERE!

am rejecting this response because: Clearly, whosoever responded didn't even bother reading my complaint. You're sales rep wanted me to sign that application even before Quoting the final price. SHE TOLD ME THEY WILL NOT RUN CREDIT CHECK. Why don't you talk to her? This hard pull doesn't bothers me but I would like to ensure the actual issue comes into light. You cannot simply lie to a customer. I will be contacting the dealership owner about this as well. No wonder this dealership has so bad reviews. I'll glad to post one to add another dent to your bad reputation.

Has the customer received the re-send of the second check owed?  It should have been mailed out after the last response.

Mr. [redacted] purchased a 2005 Mazda 3 with 183,899 miles from Napleton Mazda on 3-28-15. At the time of purchase Mr. [redacted]...

declined in writing the opportunity to purchase a vehicle service contract. In addition, Mr. [redacted] signed a document specifically stating "no extra warranty included" , the Buyers Guide disclosing the vehicle sale as an AS-IS sale, a bill of sale stating the vehicle is sold as-is and shown, no implied warranty of merchantability and no repairs will be made. Napleton Mazda has offered to perform the needed repairs to Mr. [redacted] vehicle at a reduced rate.

I have been waiting for the GAP and extended warranty refunds for over a month. The dealership refuses to speak to me or release my checks. Everytime I call, they refuse to let me speak to someone or let me speak to Ms. who always just says that she has it and is going to release it and I will have it by Friday, it has been 3 Fridays since she said that and I still do not have the checks. She is also alleging that one of the checks they have not got but I contacted the company and they said that they received it over a month ago. The dealership will not let me receive my money back because they know that I submitted a previous Revdex.com complaint and they are retaliating. They are not releasing my money to me and are illegally holding it and lying. They have had the money over a month and are just giving me a run around.

This customer should have received her cancellations. There should be no further resolution required at this time. If for some reason the customer claims to have not received their cancellations via mail, we will arrange for a date and time for the customer to pick up the cancellations from us.

Was interested in a used MX-3 they advertised. Called and they said we couldn't test drive it because it had just been traded in and hadn't been inspected yet. We came in the next morning and drove it. Liked the car, and were about to buy it until we had it inspected later that day. Found out that the check engine light had been on until they reset it for our test drive. A report we obtained from their service team shows that they first inspected the car when it was traded in six weeks earlier (not the night before as they told us). They knew that the thermostat needed replacement and tried to sell it to us as if nothing was wrong. Several lies in a row from them means I'll never walk in the door again!
