*** *** scheduled an appointment online, came in and dropped off his truck. Soon after we pulled in the truck and after identifying the year, make , and model I advised the customer that his truck requires dexos oil, an oil available as synthetic or synthetic blend. I called the
customer and told him we do not stock synthetic blend and therefore would require him to do a full synthetic oil change. *** *** was concerned about the price, but reluctantly agreed. I told him I would reduce the full synthetic price by $10.After getting the customer's approval I wrote up the work order and mistakenly hit the memo line that added synthetic blend as a line item on the invoice. There are two other places on the invoice that details a full synthetic oil change, not synthetic blend. As I said above, we do not stock synthetic blend so I have no doubt we put full synthetic oil in the customer's vehicle.I was not in the shop when the customer picked up his truck, but I understand he was upset with the price and reluctantly paid the discounted price for the full synthetic oil changeLater that day he called to state most of what he wrote in this complaint. He demanded a full refund of the $he paid or he would take legal action. I said that request is unreasonable, but I was (and am still) willing to refund him the difference between a synthetic blend oil change, ($34.95), and the amount he paid for the full synthetic oil change($59.95). I will happily refund that amountThe customer just has to call the shop, and provide a credit card number

I am rejecting this response because: I am clearly owed the 27.00$, and as I said the first day I called meineke about this issue, I will not be satisfied until I receive a full reimbursement to show good faith I was intentionally lied to and invoiced impropperly invoiced by 27$ My complaint with meineke corporate offices,and subsequent Revdex.com complaint all demand the same thing The business' response is unsatisfactory to me because at face value, there is no evidence of remorse, and I fully expect this company to repeat this practice in the future, and am currently investigating if this has happened to anyone else before Only a full reimbursement will halt my complaint

I am rejecting this response because:The response that I just received from Meineke is not valid because it is not truthful I have a Chevrolet silverado 4.8L All truck of this year and type take a dexos synthetic blend oil I was unaware of what kind of oil my truck takes, so I stupidly came into the meineke that day with a mailer coupon for a oil change (this offer was only good for people with real oil) after leaving the shop manager did call me to tell me my oil change requires a full Synthetic (66$) oil change, and he could not validate the coupon I gave him the go ahead to do the work, but upon doing some research and asking my dealership at another business, I was told my truck requires a synthetic blend(34$) When I picked the truck up the invoice, which I still have a copy of, says I received a full synthetic oil change So I called the store because now I am aware one of two things has happened 1.) They either put the incorrect oil in my car since the invoice reads full synthetic 66$, (and my truck only takes a blend (34)), or 2.) they put a blend in the car, and knowingly up charged me on the invoice to take advantage of my lack of knowledge of my own vehicle, a lack of knowledge I already demonstrated when I came in with a mailer for a oilchange with regular oil, they must have assumed I am an it I called the store and was told I would get no refund I called meikeke national who said they cannot help me since the stores are individually owned and operated his appeal is laughable because I still have my receipt from that day, which clearly bills me for a full synthetic oil change which is double the cost of the oil they actually put in the car (dexos synth blend) thankyou for your time

Allow me to respond to *** ***'s concernsI will follow the Revdex.com guidelines of stating the facts and avoiding emotions while explaining what I can do and what I can not do. First some information on today's oil:There is conventional oil which is just that, based on petroleum products and good for most domestic cars before 2010.There is synthetic oil which is 100% synthetic.And there is synthetic blend which is a combination of conventional and synthetic oilsThe oil industry has never set up a standard for synthetic blend oil, which means one brand may be 10% conventional and 90% synthetic, and another brand may have the opposite ratioSo the oil in *** ***'s truck when it came to Meineke may have been 90% synthetic or 10% synthetic, or any % in betweenThere is no way to be sure. I share this info to address the customer's claim that we put the wrong oil in his truckWe put qts of full synthetic DEXOS approved oil in his truckIn no way is it the wrong oilIt is the highest quality of oil and in no way will harm his vehicle. *** *** closes his response by saying “i still have my receipt from that day,which clearly bills me for a full synthetic oil change which is double the cost of the oil they actually put in the car” What I am able to do is refund the difference in cost between the synthetic blend oil change and the discounted amount of the full synthetic oil change($including tax minus $including tax equals a refund of $27.53) Based on *** ***'s response this should settle the matter
