Narrows Anesthesia Services Reviews (5)

***DOCUMENT ATTACHED [redacted] After reviewing the complaint dated June 29, we have the following response:The patient underwent a colonoscopy in April of which includes the need for anesthesia Our standard of care in our surgery center is to use propofol which is considered deep sedation I have no record that he ever questioned what type of anesthesia would be used for his procedureIf he was not interested in the sedation our center routinely uses, he would have had to choose another center for his procedure. The patient did sign a financial policy at the time of admit that informed him "it is your responsibility to confirm your insurance benefits with your insurance plan prior to your procedure" It also stated "your individual benefits are a contract between you and your insurance company" While it is unfortunate that full sedation is not a covered benefit, we are not able to verify every patient's benefit level as there are thousands of plans, and each plan can be differentWe do hold the patient responsible for knowing and understanding their particular insurance benefitsThe financial policy also indicated that he would receive a statement from Narrows Anesthesia for the anesthesia used during the procedure.I do show that the patient called our office on February 1, and spoke to our billing department. The patient stated he was going to dispute the balance with his insurance company and we asked him to keep us informedWe did not hear anything back from the patient, so his account was sent to collections almost two months later.Narrows Anesthesia is not the same company as [redacted] or [redacted] They are separate entities with different tax identification numbers However, my office does do the billing for all three of these companies and can answer inquiries about all of them.I hope this clarifies the situation, please let me know if I can be of additional assistance

Narrows AnesthesiaS 23rd St Suite 340Tacoma, Wa 98405July 22, 2016*** ***Revdex.com PO Box 1000Dupont, WA 98327RE: ID *** (***)Dear Ms***:I have reviewed your most recent correspondence regarding this complaint and I am responding as I never received a copy of the consumer's rebuttal. The patient did sign a financial policy at the time of admitThe financial policy also indicated that he would receive a statement from Narrows Anesthesia for the anesthesia used during the procedure.Even though he didn't receive this policy on official "Narrows Anesthesia" letterhead, it is common acceptable practice for those companies that interact directly with the consumer to provide this type of information to the consumerThis occurs for services rendered in the hospital, for radiology, pathology, and anesthesia services every day.I hope this clarifies the situation, please let me know if I can be of additional assistanceRespectfully,Margaret F* Revenue Cycle Manager

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
The only paperwork I signed at the time of service was the paperwork from the office performing the procedure, I signed no paperwork directly from the anesthesiologist and since they are not one in the same I would have needed to sign paperwork from both entitiesSincerely,[redacted]

This is the whole basis of my complaint, I was not contacted by ANYONE from narrows Anesthesia speak to me about the procedure or what my options were. I signed no consent forms from them rather I was merely told that I would receive an invoice from them. They did not go over what they were going to do they just did it. I feel they are deceptive in the business practices and need to change their policy's make things right.  I amd also in contact with the AANA, the AMA, the ASAHQ, and The Attorney General and will file complaints for not having the proper consent forms signed. I WILL NOT let this go until some sort of resolution is reached. I have had surgeries in the past and before each one the anesthesiologist met with me and went over everything, This was not the case with Narrows Anesthesia.
