Business failed to deliver on contracted promises. Work is incomplete, very poor, limited response from owner.Signed a contract in October 2014 for an attic finishing, an external freestanding garage build, and a master bathroom remodel. Total cost was $90k. Amended in January 2015 to allow garage to be two car for $4k additional. Unfortunately, despite a March 1, 2015 end date, the project is still incomplete as of October 26, 2015, one year later. The attic was completed in July 2015, and the Garage is still incomplete. [redacted] has used illegal labor, and unskilled labor. They have made mistakes against code (cutting holes in foundation of garage, 4 failed structural inspections, etc.) and they have done things poorly (improper install of siding, bad drywall/taping, etc.) and out of order (drywall before plumbing is complete). [redacted] has also refused to be present on the job site.[redacted] acknowledges issues and promises to remedy, but then does not follow through. At this point he has abandoned the job completely. He has failed to pay several contractors and nobody will work with him. I called a plumber I knew and they said they would not work with him. As of now, he's paid in full for the attic and garage, but has about $10,000 of work remaining on the job and is refusing to complete it.Desired SettlementI am seeking a $10,000 refund from Nash Construction, to pay for the work he has not completed on the garage. At that point, I will be willing to sign a contract amendment that will agree that work and materials to date is acceptable and ending the remaining work for garage and bathroom. Nash Construction was paid $72,000 on a $94,000 job. The bathroom portion was estimated at $22,000, meaning that the attic and garage are paid in full. There is at least $10,000 (or more) work remaining on the garage.
