Firm had a policy of not keeping copies of estate planning documents since the maker of the documents could change them at any time without our knowledge and having a copy of an estate planning document that is no longer the intention of the maker only creates confusion. In addition, to be effective, the original is genrerally needed because makers often destory the original to indicate their change of intentions.
I am sorry that we were not able to get the communication from Ms. [redacted] and hope that everything works out well for her and her mother.
