Nassau Electronics, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: On 3/*/14 Bought Unlocked Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 for $751.24 cash. Represented that phone would have LTE/4G internet connection with any carrier.

Came back 2-3 days later due to internet issues. Settings changed to resolve issue. Came back 2 weeks later with connection issues after trying to resolve problem with Samsung Technical Support. (The IMME number would not register with Samsung Technical Support (and won't till this day.))

Only then did Nassau inform me that the phone was an "International" version, but that I could still connect to internet. Setting changed again. Called a few times in following 4-6 weeks and thereafter. (Don't have exact dates.) Initially had Simple Mobile but changed to T-Mobile since I thought connection issue was carrier. Then Changed to AT&T for same reason. Then changed again to T-Mobile unlimited data plan for connection issue.

During that time I learned about cellular smartphones and internet via T-Mobile and Samsung Technical Support: International Model not carrier supported in the US. Towers in US communicate on different frequency/protocol than Asia or Europe. Can't connect at LTE or 4G speeds. 3G is iffy. Samsung will not provide support in US for international model. IMME number will not enter in Samsung's US computer support system. If international model mentioned, I'm told I must call Australia where this model was manufactured for.

On 9/* I returned to store and informed them of what I learned. They tried to SELL me the SM-900 (U.S.) model which is not 4G capable, then an S4. They said a customer had same SM-N9005 problem and went to T-Mobile few blocks away at [redacted]. I went there and the rT-Mobile reps said it could not be done. Nassau lied again, this time directly.

Returned on 9/* for some type of swap with LTE/4G capable, or willing to trade in phone with $100 for Note 4 that's releasing on 8th. Nassau was unwilling, except for me to purchase new phone. They were totally unwilling to discuss any work-around. I asked if they could have the phone "fixed" (rooted or otherwise), but again, they only wanted me to purchase something.Desired Settlement: At this point, 1) replacement, 2) That they pay to have phone professionally "rooted" or "fixed" in order to receive U.S. LTE/4G internet connection speed or 3) trade along with $200 for Note 4 (US model). (I informed them that I would be filing complaint and sharing my negative experience on all sites that result with their business after a search.)
