NUMC employee named OTTO who works at the information desk near carmen ave entrance is rude. I dont know how he got a customer service job. and he appears to be a rascist. he only wants to help you if you speak spanish. This guy is nasty to people just asking him questions. He doesnt even have to be antagonized. I really think there is something wrong with him. Please put an employee in that position that will actually help others.

Nassau county medical center is the worst hospital on Long Island I rather go to anywhere else the staff can’t speak English, the subs the opposite of what each other say so that confirms that that don’t know what there doing this place is so unprofessional it’s ridiculous I was a patient here for blood clots in my lungs and couldn’t breathe and they still had me wait for a bed the hospital is dirty the doctor, nurses and staff and rude Inconsiderate and completely oblivious to there job and don’t care one iota and patience’s once or ever do not do here!

corection. There are NO english speaking employees. They may act like they speak english but believe me when the boss is not around the employees that have come into contact with at NUMC are spanish speaking and RUDE.

I agree 100 per cent. there are english speaking employees. Ridiculous.

Review: My son [redacted] visited the emergency room at this hospital on 10-**-14. He did not have his insurance info at time. Sometime in January he received a bill for 199.00 which he paid using his debit card. He then told me and I called the billing department on 1-**-14 @ ###-###-#### to submit my insurance information. On 2-**-14 they took from his debit account another 199.00. I then checked with my insurance company and found out they did not receive any claim from them. On 2-**-14 I called billing again and asked why they took out another 199.00 and also why they didn't submit a claim with my insurance company. The person I spoke with didn't have an answer for either of these questions. He told me he would submit a claim and refund my son the 199.00 which he should receive in 2-3 weeks. The claim was submitted and my ins. co. stated that I did not owe them any money. I then sent a certified letter to the [redacted] at [redacted] on 3-*-14 which was received by him on 3-**-14 along with a phone number for him to contact me. I have not received a refund for these debits nor communication from anyone from billing. The account number associated with this bill is [redacted] and the physicians name on the insurance claim was [redacted].Desired Settlement: I want a refund of $398.00 and an explanation of why they stole $198.00 from his debit account.

Review: My mother [redacted] lost her medical records during the move and needed copies of it from NUMC. On her behalf, I have been reaching out to NUMC many times through multiple channels of communication and received not a single response. Worse than that is I am still without my mother's medical records.Desired Settlement: Please have Medical Records actually contact me via email, mail, or phone call to let me know what the process is for my mother and I to obtain her medical records. My mothers records are from 2001 so it is not digitally available which is why I started contacting them in first place.
