After looking at the cost and expected results for granite or natural stone countertops, we decided to go the way of a better quality laminate Cutting Edge did offer the largest selection and the feeling of a family owned and operated business seemed like it would offer the best chance of a happy out come to our project We made our selection and received a quoteThe father of the operation came and measured and a date was selected for installationOn the date of installation I received a call at work that because of mis-measuring another countertop would have to be orderedBecause of the inconvenience we were told we would get a $discount The new countertop was ordered, and several days later was installedInstallation was adequate The father gave me the price to pay and I paid the remaining balanceWhen my husband came home he saw that we had not been given the $discount promised , and I had paid $more then expected I called and they assured me they would send a check for the $ After a week I callled back and had to leave a message I called several more times over weeks, only to get an answering machine Someone did return our calls while we where on vacation Upon returning we called them back and they said they could not write a check unless they had a verified address Really? The address was on the form we filled out for our order He said he would send a check After a week without receiving a check I called them againI was told he had sent the check, but since it hadn't come, he would send us another oneWe even verified the address againGuess What? The second check never arrived and we have not heard from them They didn't have to offer us a discount because they messed up the measurements But they did! They had the obligation to follow through on their agreement but did notMy feeling is that they are not the trustworthy business they want you to believe they are, or at least not when it is convenient for them Buyer beware of promises made

After looking at the cost and expected results for granite or natural stone countertops, we decided to go the way of a better quality laminate. Cutting Edge did offer the largest selection and the feeling of a family owned and operated business seemed like it would offer the best chance of a happy out come to our project.
We made our selection and received a quote. The father of the operation came and measured and a date was selected for installation. On the date of installation I received a call at work that because of mis-measuring another countertop would have to be ordered. Because of the inconvenience we were told we would get a $200 discount.
The new countertop was ordered, and several days later was installed. Installation was adequate. The father gave me the price to pay and I paid the remaining balance. When my husband came home he saw that we had not been given the $200 discount promised , and I had paid $200 more then expected. I called and they assured me they would send a check for the $200. After a week I callled back and had to leave a message. I called several more times over 2 weeks, only to get an answering machine. Someone did return our calls while we where on vacation. Upon returning we called them back and they said they could not write a check unless they had a verified address. Really? The address was on the form we filled out for our order. He said he would send a check. After a week without receiving a check . I called them again. I was told he had sent the check, but since it hadn't come, he would send us another one. We even verified the address again. Guess What? The second check never arrived and we have not heard from them.
They didn't have to offer us a discount because they messed up the measurements. But they did!
They had the obligation to follow through on their agreement but did not. My
feeling is that they are not the trustworthy business they want you to believe they are, or at least not when it is convenient for them. Buyer beware of promises made.
