On Nov 11, 2014, I contacted Ms.[redacted] and apologized the tips ($12) was added on the bill. I promised that I would take care of them when they come to my restaurant next time. Ms. [redacted] was very happy and I believed that we should close out the case.

Review: My family of 5 ( 2 kids and 3 adults) dined at Nathan's Chinese cusine on November 1st at around 6:30 pm. After we ate they gaveou bill totalled around $72.00 plus tax. I noticed that they automatically charged us $12.00 tip/gratuity with out my knowledge. I asked the gentleman who is also a server, why the tip was added without telling us and he said that they've been doing this for a long time and they automatically charge 4 or more people gratuity. I asked him where is the sign that says it and is it legal? He answered rudely yes it is. I left and didn't feel food about this practice and I don't rhink they have the right to decide how much tip we will give and doing my math they charged us more than 18% off our bill. I feel violated.Desired Settlement: they should stop this kind of system because the customer should decide what tip/ gratuity amount they should give not the restaurant. I feel that this is illegal practice what they're doing.
