National Asphalt Paving, Inc. Reviews (10)

Run as fast as you can from this contractor Our driveway is a complete mess just over a year since National Asphalt paved it Cracks all over, he delayed and delayed coming back to burn off the oil residue and as a result his patchwork repairs to fix the eroding asphalt looks horrible We now have a drainage problem we never had prior to his work Hangs up on you and tells you to sue him if you don't like it Our driveway looks so bad we will now have to repave our driveway just over a year later He undercuts the price but don't fall for it, you will spend much more in the long run

The hole in the driveway was filled properly.  We made the necessary correction.

April 2013, we hired National Asphalt Paving, Inc. to pave our driveway at our home. The work completed was subpar and the company returned a few weeks later to try to fix the driveway. The second attempt to repair the driveway was also subpar. To date, the driveway is still incomplete. When it rains, our garage floods. This issue did not occur prior to hiring National Asphalt Paving. We’ve contacted National Asphalt Paving numerous times to return to fix the driveway issues, however, they have not returned any of our phone call and communications. We are now going to take the company to Small Claims Court.

Review: We hired [redacted] As sound who said his grandfather owned National Asphalt Paving Inc to do some repair work and seal coat our driveway. The repair work consisted of filling in cracked areas and repairing the seam between the original driveway and the area where the driveway had been expanded a few years earlier. We discussed the price as well as his ability to do the repair work. He assured us that it would be no problem, and that he had the experience and tools in which to do the job. He was to arrive on August **,2014 at 10:00 am. He didn't arrive until 2:30 pm on August [redacted] and proceeded to start the job. It wasn't until after dusk that he finished and the work he did was not very visual due to the time of day and the inability to gain access to the driveway. My husband noticed when he came home from work that the areas where the repairs were done were just mounds of asphalt that were not tapped down and we're falling apart. He called [redacted] As sound to inform him that the work was sub standard and we expect him to return to correct the issues. He was nasty, but did agree to come early the following morning August [redacted], 2014. When he did not show up by 9:50 am we notiified our bank to stop payment on check # [redacted] in the amount of $750.00 this was done after an additional call was made to him at 9:44 am August [redacted] and again he was nasty and non committial to his returning to correct the problems.Desired Settlement: We would like a different worker from the company to make the correction to the work that was not done properly. If this cannot be guaranteed then we would like a full refund if the check clears prior to the 24 hours the bank requires in which to stop payment on the check. If this can't be rectified through this means we will have no choice but to take legal action.

Review: In May we had National Asphalt Paving agree to seal coat our driveway and fix a hole for $400. They ran out of sealer and did not do around the edges and they also ran out of asphalt to fill the hole. The hole is now lower than the surrounding driveway . They have never come back to fix any of these issues even after repeated phone calls. We did not pay them the last $100 that we owed them. Nothing was ever given to us in writing. Very unprofessional. I wish to warn other people against using this company. We are afraid to have them back as they would make the situation worse.Desired Settlement: We would like to be refunded our $300 as we are going to have to pay someone to fix the hole. We no longer trust National Asphalt to do it correctly.

Review: on September [redacted], 2013 we hired National Asphalt Paving, Inc to do some work for us which included adding to our existing driveway making it larger with asphalt. Also they were to reseal our existing driveway. Everything was done, and was told that the existing driveway will fade in a few days and the spots that are shiny will look the same. I week later, I called the company and spoke to [redacted], and told them the driveway was not completely sealed and spots were missed, and that on the new asphalt area bumps started to form. I also explained that on the new asphalt the pitch is wrong causing numerous large puddle which some were near the foundation of the house. Still no answer, my wife called 9/** and spoke to [redacted], and he told her he will send a crew over on Saturday the [redacted] while we are home so they can fix it. On 9/**/13 when I came home from work around 530pm I found a note by my front door that states "Came by and fix mushroom, the grade is fine its away from hous. and early part of next will reseal driveway for you. Thanks" it's been over 3 weeks, and I have not heard from anyone nor has anyone come to fix all the problems. I called the business at ###-###-#### at 4pm 10/*, and [redacted] answered the phone, I told him who I was, and that we are still waiting for the company to come over and fix all the problems we are having. I explained that I am [redacted] off, and he said to me you can be [redacted] off all you want and I'll get there whenever I want. I said to him excuse me? I told him we are not happy with their work. He then hung up on me. I called right back and it went to voice mail. I left a msg saying who I was and how unhappy with the job they did, they used less than 1 inch of asphalt when we were told they would use 4 inches. The bumps that are forming are weeds growing through and breaking the surface. They did not put any crushed RCA rock under neath nor did they lower the existing ground to accommodate the the 4 inches of asphalt needed.Desired Settlement: I would like them to come here, and tear up what they did, and do it the right way, and reseal the existing driveway completely and correctly. if they do not wish to fix their mistakes than I would request a refund of the $2000 paid.

[Your Answer Here]

[redacted] from the business called me on 9/** at 9:06am from phone number ###-###-####. He said that he would come over on the [redacted] (very next day) to reseal the driveway and that we would discuss options about fixing the asphalt problems. He never showed up, nor has he called. I've been home everyday all day due to a recent back surgery, so I know nobody showed up.

Review: National Asphalt Paving did an overlay paving on my driveway the spring of 2013, April **. The finished product is not what was expected. There are large loose peeling spots of asphalt on my driveway. It was not rolled smoothly. There are large dents and discoloration all over the driveway. By slightly running your foot in spots, it caused chunks of the asphalt to come out of the driveway. On the road at the curb of the apron of the driveway is small ashpalt piles that have been washed down. My husband [redacted] spoke with [redacted] that evening of April **, 2013 and [redacted] sent 2 men to fill in by hand, the original spots we complained about a few days later. [redacted] guaranteed us an excellent job said he would fix the problem without actually doing so. I spoke with [redacted] on Saturday September ** and he told me he would call me in a few days and come to see what the issues were when I was home, so I could discuss them further with him. He could not even give me the courtesy of coming to my home to speak to me. He was in fact, very quick to cut me off on the phone and was not adequately business like in our conversation. As of today, I have not heard from [redacted] and would like to file a complaint. He guaranteed we would love our new driveway that cost $2,400.00. I kept my end of the bargain by paying him in full by personal check upon completion.Desired Settlement: I would like my $2,400.00 returned to me as I did not get the satifactory resurfacing of my driveway as I was personally guaranteed by [redacted]. I would not be confident having this company come to fix it at this point as just trying to get a hold of [redacted] to have him come see the driveway is more than he seems to be able to handle.
