National Asset Management Reviews (15)

Dear Ms . [redacted],Thank you for your letter dated May 23, 2017, and for the letter from "National Asset Management" dated May 16.I note that "National Asset Management" did not respond to my points that I have no debt owed to [redacted], which went out of business in 2014.  They carefully avoided addressing the points that I raised, but continue to make claims that are not true, namely that there is a debt, that they explained their dispute process "on several occasions" (this never occurred) and that I refused to send anything to them (this also never occurred as I stated in my previous email).  I have insisted on the phone that they send something to me in writing, and nothing has arrived. I repeat - nothing has arrived. Further - if there ever was an alleged debt claimed by a client that is now out of business, the 6 year statute of limitations in NY State has expired.  Again, they avoid this important point.Thank you for your help to date. I will be taking this up with the NY State Attorney General to investigate the activities of "National Asset Management."  Your help in getting something in writing from "National Asset Mangement" is most helpful to this process.Thank you,[redacted]

RE: Compialint ID [redacted] and National Asset Management.Attention: [redacted]This is in response to the follow up letter on this complaint dated May 11, 2017.Please note, this is in response to a Revdex.com complaint, and not a validation of a debt, therefore, no details of the account are included. Ms [redacted] notes that these details were not included in our initial response, however, the most recent letter, as well as the first letter received by our office specifically noted to leave these details out so as not to identify the consumer.According to applicable law, a notice was sent to Ms. [redacted] regarding this account when it was placed with our office and before any phone calls were made. The phone calls in March were not the first, only the most recent with her current telephone number. Our dispute process was explained on several occasions to Ms. [redacted]. We asked that she send the dispute and request for itemized statements in writing to our office, which could then be forwarded to our client to request itemization or copies of contracts, and she refused. As explained to Ms. [redacted], when we receive a written dispute, the account is placed on hold until we obtain validation and send it to the consumer. If the client cannot send documentation validating the debt, the account is closed and all negative credit reporting information removed. As of today, May 16th 2017. We have never received anything in writing from Ms. [redacted] either requesting validation of the debt, or to cease and desist telephone contact, despite the fact that she has the correct address. Our business address of 411 6th St. in Ambridge is a correct address and not a church. We have received the Revdex.com correspondence at this address with no problems. We have been, and are still, more than willing to address this issue and resolve this account by taking the appropriate steps and adhering to all applicable laws that are to protect the consumer and our client alikeRegards, Sarah K[redacted]National Asset Management

RE: Complalint ID [redacted] and National Asset Management.Attention: [redacted]We are in receipt of the complaint filed with the Revdex.com submitted by [redacted] in regards to a collection account that was placed in our office. We have reviewed the account, and the...

events occurred as follows:The account was placed with us by our client [redacted] and a letter was sent to the consumer detailing the account and her rights in regards to the account, including the right to dispute the validity of the debt. Two subsequent letters were then sent. There was no mail returned that would indicate an incorrect address. In March, our research department located a correct phone number for Ms. [redacted] and we called her in regards to past due amount. The first time our agents spoke with Ms. [redacted], she simply hung up on them. The second time she was politely notified that we have attempted to send multiple letters, which went unanswered, and she was then advised that she has the right to dispute the validity of the debt and request a copy of the original invoice or contract in writing, which she refused. She was also notified that she has the right to send in writing a cease and desist letter if she wished the calls to stop. Again, she refused. We have advised of her of her rights and all necessary steps that need to be taken to resolve this matter. We have also adhered to all **ws and appropriate regulations under the FDCPA.We hope that Ms. [redacted] will also follow through with the appropriate actions to resolve this situation.Regards,Sarah K[redacted]National Asset Management

Review: Review: This company claims they have a debt to me to which I have no contract with NAM. They have been advised to send me anything they have for me in writing, and that I do not verify anything over the phone, and to stop calling me at work!!!. They will repeatedly call me back, and today on 9-27-16 when I asked for the address to send a letter to stop calling me they refused to provide the address as they are required to. The address was never provided, so I looked up the information and attained the address. They are harassing me and refuse to follow Federal / Texas Consumer Laws. As a result, I am making a Revdex.com complaint against the company.Desired Settlement: This company is required to stop calling me by phone at work!!!; I have no contract with this company and they may only mail me anything they have on file, i.e. follow consumer laws.

They will repeatedly call me back, and today on 5/5/16 when I asked for the address to send a letter to stop calling me they refused to provide the address as they are required to. I was transferred to a "manager" who then would only provide an email of [email protected]; however I do not wish to provide a company I have no business with my personal email. The address was never provided, so I looked up the information and attained the address. They are harassing me and refuse to follow Federal / Texas Consumer Laws. As a result, I am making a Revdex.com complaint against the company.Desired Settlement: This company is required to stop calling me by phone; I have no contract with this company and they may only mail me anything they have on file, i.e. follow consumer laws.

Review: This Co. had been working for us to collect on some debts owed to us. They have disapeared and can no longer be reach by phone or e-mail. They never called or e-mailed us to let us know they were going out of buisness, if that is the case. We are forwarding our collection accts. that were with them to another co., due to the fact that we need them collected and need to be able to comunicate with the organization we are working with. Just letting people know that this co. is not reliable and have always been difficult to contact and work with. Not even sure they ever were working on the accounts. I would not refer this company to anyone who wants results.Desired Settlement: I would like to be notified of situation regarding the status of this co., so I can proceed as indicated above regarding my accts. Thank you

Review: I cannot establish if NATIONAL ASSET MANAGEMENT INC is indeed a legitimate company or not. They are not answering their telephone number 1 877 299 3977 so that makes them suspect to me. They are based, according to their letter, in Steubenville, Ohio, but on the web I see various other addresses. Thank you for any information. Richard CowanDesired Settlement: Dissappearance of amount due of 66.80 usd plus a payment of a harrassment fee of 500.00 usd.

Review: We were granted a 20 - 80 split upon collection of past due invoices. Payment was made and a copy was sent to our attention. When contacting the collection agency via phone and e-mail, we were not getting through. Phone was busy...all the numbers we had. And the same for e-mails...all the e-mails we had. We would like to make this right as agreed which would be the full amount owed of $ 269.19.Desired Settlement: We'd very much like to know if the company is still open. We'd very much like to get the payment percentage we agreed upon when our client paid invoice on check # 25091

Review: This company dropped out of sight recently with our data in tack. When they were in Moon Twp., I could never get answers about who paid their debts and for how much. The person I dealt with was [redacted]. They moved a few months ago to [redacted] and shortly after that they disappeared. We found out when we received an email from a [redacted] dba as [redacted] that they had suddenly closed their doors....wonder how he knew this? Anyway, be aware of this company. We plan to prosecute when we find them.Desired Settlement: We want all of our collection data returned and a full accounting of the debts that were collected and the dollar amounts. Otherwise, I think Federal prison might be a good resolution. Wire fraud to begin with.

Review: This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have worked in customer service myself for almost 10 years now, so usually I understand that when dealing with customers sometimes requires a lot of patience. However, I have spoken with this company many times and not a single occasion has the service been pleasant or helpful. I asked to speak with the supervisor, who eventually hung up on me because we couldn't understand what the other person was saying. The representatives are very rude; they do not hesitate to speak loudly over you. I mentioned above that I was hung up on by a supervisor; however, I was hung up on a hand full of times because the representative became frustrated. They have no desire to be helpful. This is a very pushy company. Please be warned before doing business with them.Desired Settlement: Something needs to be done about this companys customer service, it is so horrible, its saddening. I have never experienced such rude business interactions. Out of the dozen times I interacted with them, never once did I speak with any person that didn't have an Indian accent. Where is a minority? Please help the customers of this business!

Dear Ms. Schaffer:

I have been retained as counsel by National Asset Management, LLC (hereinafter “NAM”) to

respond to the above mentioned complaint.

NAM is a first and third party billing agency. In this instance, NAM was retained by [redacted] to collect a past due account.

NAM takes your complaints seriously and has opened an investigation into this matter. If you

have further details such as names or identification numbers, please relay those to me directly, as

they would be of great assistance.

I have confirmed that your account with NAM has been paid in full, so I do not foresee any

further contact from NAM. Please contact me if I can be of further assistance.

Review: Harassing collection efforts.Desired Settlement: Proof of debt

Review: National Asset Management (NAM) never attempted to contact me about a collection and they filed with a credit agency. I did NOT received a phone call or letter. The account which they claim I was overdue has my email address. NAM did not even send me one email. They should be required to have proof (without any reasonable doubt) they are being ignored by the consumer they "claim" they contacted.I am disappointed this organization has the ability to negatively impact a person's credit on a arbitrary basis.Desired Settlement: Require collection agencies to have proof of contact before filing with a credit agency.

RE:[redacted] Complaint

Dear Ms. [redacted]:

1 have been retained as counsel by National Asset. Management LLC- (hereinafter “NAM") to

respond to the above mentioned complaint. As stated in Mr. ** ’s complaint, NAM credit

reported a certain debt that was alleged owed by Mr. **, but never attempted to contact him via

telephone or mail.

NAM is a first and third party billing and collection agency. In this matter it was retained by

a third party to collect a debt. In the course o f its normal business practice, NAM is regulated by

both state and federal statutes, specifically the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

Accordingly, NAM fulfills each requirement set forth in Title 1.5 USC 1692g §809 (see recitation

below).

§ 809. Validation of debts

(a) Within five days after the initial communication with a consumer in connection with the

collection o f any debt, a debt collector shall, unless the following information is contained in the

initial communication or the consumer has paid the debt, send the consumer a written notice

containing—

(1) the amount o f the debt;

(2) the name o f the creditor to whom the debt Is owed;

(3) a statement that unless the consumer, within thirty days after receipt o f the notice, disputes the

validity o f the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt

collector;

(4) a statement that if the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day

period that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, the debt collector will obtain

verification o f the debt or a copy o f a judgment against the consumer and a copy o f such

verification or judgment will be mailed to the consumer by the debt collector; and

(5) a statement that, upon the consumer's written request within the thirty-day period, the debt

collector will provide the consumer with the name and address o f the original creditor, if

different from the current creditor.

(b) I f the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in

subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the

name and address o f the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection o f the debt, or

any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification o f the debt or any copy

o f a judgment, or the name and address o f the original creditor, and a copy o f such verification or

judgment, or name and address o f the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt

collector. Collection activities and communications that do not otherwise violate this title may

continue during the 30-day period referred to in subsection (a) unless the consumer has notified

the debt collector in writing that the debt, or any portion o f the debt, is disputed or that the consumer

requests the name and address o f the original creditor. Any collection activities and

communication during the 30-day period may not overshadow or be inconsistent with the

disclosure o f the consumer's right to dispute the debt or request the name and address o f the

original creditor.

NAM mailed multiple letters to Mr. ** and telephoned him numerous times regarding the debt.

In fact, on October 4, 2013 a NAM representative was able to speak with Mr. ** on the

telephone, at which time Mr. ** paid the debt in full. As the debt has been paid in full NAM is

no longer working to collect a debt from Mr. **. Mr. V o 's desired settlement o f “requirejlngj

collection agencies to have p ro o f to contact before filing with a credit agency” is a legislation

issue and riot an issue that NAM has the authority or power to address.

Review: This company has continued to call my family members to collect this debt stating that they are going to send constables to arrest my family unless they give information to them that they need about me and telling them to pay my debt. They also called my place of employment which I know is against the law to do, and they are continuing to call. If they continue they will cause me to loose my JOB.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to stop contacting anyone that is associated to me and especially my job. If I had the money to pay my debt to them I would, besides they are collections. I never have done any business with them so why are they calling me. I want them off my credit report for being harrased

Review: I contracted NAM to work on a few Collections account for my Clinic.NAM failed to report to me since the first time I signed up for their services.I do not know if there was ANY collections attempt made, and nobody would ever call me back or send me an informative sheet of any progress.7 months later, I had 0 collections done.I tried to reach out to NAM over phone and email saying that I would no longer require their services because I was unsatisfied with their customer service.I wanted a confirmation that NAM would no longer, ever work on my accounts. I wanted no part of their business ever again.I never heard from NAM giving me a confirmation either way, which is expected since they never contact me to follow up on any of my accounts.Desired Settlement: I want a letter from NAM confirming that our partnership has ended and they will no longer worked on the accounts provide to them.
