Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
1.  I was not refunded the money immediately.. I called the organization on 8/*; however, was not refunded the money until 8/** which resulted in 2 checks coming into my account that overdrew my account and I was charged $70.2.  Despite their charge that a variety of services were available to me as a member, there was nothing other than a site to network with other people, which I never used.3.  When you call the organization, they answer the phone saying they are a women's magazine company; this seemed strange to me.4.  They promise you two round trip tickets when you sign up, yet they did not make good on it.5.  When you google the organization, a number of sites pop up warning people about the deceptive marketing ploys used by this organization.  It also mentions the various "alias" this organization uses as marketing ploys to get people to join.I felt like it was just a front to collect a couple of hundred dollars from vulnerable people. I just did not see anything that was worth $400.

Review: This organization presents itself as an elite "professional" organization with a selective membership process. In the initial contact the representative provided accolades about the value of being a "member, etc." and attempted to get a lifetime membership fee of approximately $1,100. Initially, I did not accept, and the representative reverted to a three year membership offer at $449.00, (which I selected to try out the organization's "services.") I did receive a receipt for $449.00, a "welcome" letter, user name and password for site access, which appeared genuine. Approximately three months later I was contacted by the [redacted]; (a name was provided) who apparently is unknown to the [redacted] at the organization. This person informed me that based on my profile, I was "selected by committee" to be included in their 1% VIP elite level of members; a "lifetime membership" for another $ 688.95. Unfortunately, I agreed to what I now believe to be a questionable practice of "up selling.". Since joining as a "VIP" member I have not received any correspondence from the organization or validating information of the “VIP” status. I would have expected a revised profile certificate, or any other information that would be appropriate to an “elite” member of a professional organization. In addition, I have not received a conformation or receipt for the credit card payment of $668.95; however, it did appear on my credit card statement. I placed two calls to this organization and both times the [redacted] transferred me to an "assistant's" voice mail; I have yet to receive a response. As a result of these experiences, I am highly skeptical of this "professional" organization, it's tactics for obtaining and up-selling members and any perceived value to me as a professional. Any service or advice you can provide will be appreciated before I consider escalating my concerns to the Attorney Generals of New York and Colorado to investigate the organization.Desired Settlement: With a refund to the credit card used in the transactions, I will not pursue or discredit this organization.

Business

Response:

[redacted] was contacted to enhance his membership and engaged in a lengthy conversation reviewing all of his information with the [redacted] was clear on the resources and benefits being provided and encouraged to take advantage of them at his own pace. A commemorative plaque has been ordered for the VIP honor and takes 6-8 weeks for delivery, due to the custom ordering. The fee also up-graded the membership to a lifetime membership providing the resources available for a lifetime, it was an additional one time installment. We are more than willing o work with each individual as it's fit, during this specific time [redacted] has been contacted to resolve the issue.

Review: I entered into a agreement with this company 6/**/2014 for them to publish an article in Women of Distinction Magazine for $318.00 over the phone with [redacted]. I was told the article would be a "Print" magazine & I could have copies sent to whomever I would like. 7/**/14 I followed up with [redacted] via email because I had not heard them them. They had the wrong email address for me & [redacted] finally sent me their questionnaire & information. 7/**/2014 I completed their questionnaire & sent them the photos they request via email. 8/**/14 I followed up again because I didn't hear anything. I was informed they did not receive anything from me. I then forwarded the email I had sent to them on 7/**/14. [redacted] apologized as this was their error 8/** they confirmed they had the information they needed. 8/**/2014. They sent me the article for review, I replied with my revisions & they sent a final email that all changes had been incorporated & were final. 8/**/2014 I sent an email asking where I send my list of who I'd like copies of the magazine sent to . I was informed by [redacted] "Hard copies are not sent it is the link that we send out to people for you." I replied stating that then I wanted to cancel the article & get my money back because I never would have agreed to pay $300+ for an online article. I could write & publish an article on online myself. They put me in touch with a gentleman by the name of [redacted](?) or [redacted](?) Who stated it must have been a misunderstanding & it was then verbally agreed upon that they would send print copies of just the article to 20 address's for me. I emailed the names & address's on 08/**/2014 to [redacted] Then 9/**/2014 I get an email form a completely different person ([redacted]) asking me to approve an article about me that I had never seen & was not the article I had previously approved 7/**/2014. I replied stating there was a final copy already written & approved. [redacted] replied apologizing for the error.

I was told the magazine article print date was November 2014. To date I have not heard or seen anything from this company via phone or email. No copies of the article or magazine have been mailed to me or anybody on my list that was sent.

When I called 12/*/2014 and asked to speak with somebody I was put into the voicemail of [redacted] who is [redacted] boss.Desired Settlement: If this article was not published & available in hard copy print in November as they stated I want my $318.00 back. I have been through the ringer with this company with excuse after excuse & error after error. I have all the emails to document the conversations after the agreement was made & the payment sent to them. They have not fulfilled their end of the agreement. F

Review: I responded to a [redacted] ad inviting University of South Carolina alumni to fill out questionnaire with National Association of Distinguished Professionals, and was told I would receive a phone interview. I did receive the interview call and responded to various questions (nothing having to do with USC alumni), and told I qualified for the NADP. At the end, the caller began to name the various prices, starting with $900. I declined, and she continued to drop the price until we got to around $275. I was very hesitant and reluctant, and asked if I could cancel. She said certainly. I gave my credit card info and then received emails with much more information, including receipt stating that all sales were final (no refunds due to this or that). I made several calls to the company, explained my situation, and stated that I did not want the service and wanted a refund. I did receive a partial refund of about $89, and was told that the [redacted] would return and contact me today. I also wrote a letter to her. I have not heard back from her as of yet.Desired Settlement: I am asking for a full refund to my credit card.

I contacted [redacted] twice in the last month requesting a refund since they did not fulfill their obligation to me.

To date, she has not responded via phone or email and I still have not received anything.Desired Settlement: Refund

Review: I was roped into this association by a person using shrewd marketing tactics and I am embarrassed to say I feel for it. I was under the impression it was a one time fee; however, a year later (after never using any of the services they claim a member is entitled to), a charge of 99.00 was debited from my checking account without my knowledge. I think the business practices of this so-called organization are unprofessional and underhanded.Desired Settlement: I would like the 99.00 recently charged, as well as the initial membership fee of $400 that was levied against my account a year ago. Now realizing I have been scammed, I would like restitution.

Response:

The Refund was processed in full and we cannot control how long it takes (5days) for the cc company to post it to your account. Because you choose not to use the services does not mean they are not valid. There is no bad press regarding the organization going by any other name, it's not necessary. We do provide conferences seminars and a webinars across the country in addition to the online networking portal. The airline vouchers are available in your profile, log in and go to claim ticket voucher follow the directions from there.

Review: I would like a full refund as I have repeatedly contacted this business for follow up to our original deal.

I haven't gotten any response other than to purchase more advertisement pages.Desired Settlement: return of all moneys that I have paid thus far.
