Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 27, 2016/03/24) */ Contact Name and Title: [redacted] Manager Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: [redacted] @verizon.net In response to Mr[redacted] he brought us he's engine dirty with layers of grease cake on it and he also had parts missing out of his engine which he brought in boxesIf we took time to rebuilt his engine is because we were waiting on Mr[redacted] to bring his own parts, which took many weeks, when parts finally where brought in we told his about his bearings that where the wrong size at this time we had to order bearing for itMr[redacted] came in and clean the engine parts in our shop, the job was never put aside Mr[redacted] took a long time to bring in partsThe only job we did was to assemble his engine with his parts that he purchasedThere's not warranty on engine because it was all his parts, is a racing motor, and we just assemble it for him that was it, it was not a rebuilt engine either; Mr[redacted] just wanted to replace parts that he brought in

On 3/14/KBR Mfgwas contracted via The [redacted] to tear out and install countertops at the residence of Mr***During the tear out phase of the job, it was discovered that the existing countertop (installed by others) had been installed improperlyAt this point the KBR installer stopped and discussed with Mrs [redacted] the issue of potentially damaging the wall during the process of tearing out the top and that the damage would need to be addressed by othersShe told our installer to proceed with the work and that she had someone coming in after us that could complete this type work if neededAs our installer had thought some minor damage to the plaster wall did indeed occurThe original install was so bad that the mounting plate of the wall was also damaged during the tear outAt this time the KBR installer used his own material and fixed wall plate at no charge so the installation of the countertop could proceed for the homeownerThe damage to the wall was unavoidable considering how bad the original installation was In regards to mounting the sink, drop in bowls are installed by the plumbersthis is preferred by plumbers because they can install the faucet before the sink is installedBy installing the sink first, you then have to crawl into the cabinet to install the faucetAfter discussing this with the homeowner our installer mounted the sink for her at no additional costIn response to the request of $for repairsI have contacted [redacted] and we have decided to agree to the disputed amount to resolve the issue

KBR is a wholesale fabricator of countertops. Our contracts are with the stores and/or kitchen dealers, not the homeowner. It is my understanding that the *** purchased a whole kitchen in November
of with Ikea. Ikea would be responsible for sending the countertop
order to
KBR. We did not receive this order until 9/1/15. I am not sure why
this complaint is being submitted as we have followed every procedure
within the contract of KBR and Ikea. We received the order from Ikea on 9/1/and within hours we were at the home of the *** to measure for the countertops they purchased. Unfortunately, there was no one present at the time of the measure appointment, in which we typically require someone to be present but they could not make it. Therefore, we had several questions regarding this order All information was sent to Ikea (the day after the measure) for approval and for the missing information to be answered. Again, we are the wholesale fabricator and our contracts state that we
are to provide all information to our customer, not the homeowner, which the *** are Ikea's customer. A copy of the drawing was sent to *** ***, as he requested, for his records. KBR, being a wholesale company, has standard hours of Monday-Friday a.mto 5:p.mwith standard holiday closures. Unfortunately, this past Monday was indeed a holiday that we were closed and could not touch base with the ***. However, on Friday 9/4/15, prior to the holiday, *** informed *** *** that he would need to speak with Ikea regarding all the missing information from measure, support that were needed and to settle final payment with Ikea. He was not happy that we could not proceed and then hung up on ***. For the record, per our contract we cannot proceed without final approval from Ikea, in case the homeowner makes changes and/or owes monies on the order. *** did call Ikea to inform them of everything that has happened and asked that they contact the *** Today, 9/9/15, prior to seeing this complaint, we have received the final purchase and approval from Ikea and have provided the *** their installation date of 9/30/15.(Our contract with Ikea states we have up to weeks to install the countertops)In my opinion, this complaint is unnecessary as we did nothing wrong and this complaint should be submitted to Ikea, as that is who they are buying/contracted with.If you should need anything else, please let me know

On 02/14/our Installation Manager met with the customer to view the issue with the countertopWe agree with the customer that the countertop does not live up to our standardsWe will be replacing the countertop under warranty at no charge on 02/21/

RE: complaint ID*** - against Kitchens by Rutenschroer, Inc.The Installation Manager did met with us on 2/and schedule to replace the countertop next week As much as we are pleased with their quick respond and changed of attitude, we are hoping the Company understand that we can not and will not be happy with the job unless they replace the entire countertop As each slab of granite is one of a kind, color varies and unique, it is really hard to match the color pattern.We are looking forward to work with the Company and advise the result Thank you for following up with us.*** ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  We now have an install date of 9/30.  Once it is installed I will close the complaint.  However, I called [redacted] on Tuesday September 8th and never received a call back.  To me, this is not professional.
