Because other people may overreactor underreact; other people do not know how to gauge a smell using the organoleptic scale; and other people are not reliable indicatorsWhile they may even say you still have a problem after treatment, the tests we perform are the final determination of success.” When we recently saw you, you related that you had a bad taste in your mouth that developed two weeks after your bad breath was curedAs I explained, we have no way to measure taste and taste is not what we treatYo your breathI do not know what t was no detectable odor based on explicitly state that other people are not trained in detecting odors.Included as part of the treatment is a list of items that you need to keep doing to stay bad-breath freeWe give these to every person as handoutsThey included things like diet, hydration, proper methods for tongue cleaning, etcto maintain the results When you left our office after your last visit on October 23, 2015, you were curedHowever we cannot control what happens once you leave our care. Before your treatment ended successfully, we requested that you return in 3-months so that we can gauge whether your biofilm comes back, and if so, how muchBut even after months, we were able to remove the biofilm and odor and accomplish the same four objectives mentioned in Parameters of A CureYour Halimeter was 95, there was no organoleptic odor, and your gauze had no color or odorYou had no bad breath.Again, I am sorry that you believe you still have a problem, but according to our records you were cured on October 23, And when your folltreatment was completed on June 1, 2016, you also passed all tests, including the oral chromatography test (Oral Chroma), a new test we have instituted since your last visitThe Oral Chroma divides up bad breath into different volatile sulfur compounds, hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, and dimethylsulfideI am attaching a polf of your readings that show (green bars) that you had far less than the detectable amounts of all three compoundsFor those reasons, I am unable to refund your fee.Richard *M [redacted] DDS

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
DrM*** and staff needs to come to the realization that his service, and products will not be successful for every patient What is so amazing is the fact that I walked into his office without scientific proof or scientific evidence that I had bad breath anyone can smell or taste it, now all of a sudden because he now has my hard earned money on his bank account and I am complaining about the poor outcome of the treatment I am now suffering from something else (halitophia)In talking wih another patient who is also disappointed with their results DrM*** has agreed to offer another set of treatments, it's not like I would accept that offer if he did offer that to me again, but I mentioned that to say he never tried to establish a middle ground or tried to meet me half way with my complaints or concernsAll I got on my last appointment was "there is nothing else I can do for you"So I am guessing since I've been scammed...it is my duty to advise others of the operation of this facility, and to pursue legal action for reimbursement.Regards,

It will explain the bulk of my response. Also attached is a...

copy of the document we give to each person to read and sign if they agree with its content. She did so on September 21, 2015.I am sorry that she cannot accept the fact that she is cured but the scientific evidence shows that she was, in fact, definitely cured. In a case where the person cannot accept the proof of the scientific findings, it must be taken into consideration that, according to the research about 25% of all people who believe they have bad breath actually do not have it. Because she is cured but believes she is not, it must be considered that some degree of halitophobia may be present.I also must emphasize that we do not advertise, warrant, or promise in any fashion that a person's taste will change. Taste is not a judge of bad breath.I am very sorry that this patient is not happy with the outcome, however, we did live up to our promise. On two occasions when all the four tests were performed, she passed all tests with flying colors and is cured.Richard * M[redacted] DDS[redacted],I am sorry that you are unhappy with the treatment we provided in curing your bad breath. However, I think it would be helpful if I reviewed a few things. At the diagnosis appointment we take great pains to describe what a cure means and the parameters that define a cure; in fact, we ask everyone to read and if they agree, to sign a document that stipulates what a ture means. On September 21, 2015 you signed that document called Parameters of AICure. In summary, here are the four things that must occur for a cure to be accomplished as listed in that document, which you agreed to and signed:1) Halimeter reading 100 or below 2) No gauze coating, allowing for the wetness of the saliva that is picked up on the gauze3) No odor on the gauze (the gauze itself has a faint sterile, slight bleachy odor)4) No odor on the organoleptic test (smell test)At your last visit on October 23, 2015, all bad breath readings were negative. The organoleptic test = 0; the gauze had no color and no odor; and the Halimeter read 51, far below the 100 promised in the document, Paranheters of A Cure. Also in the document were the statements, “The parameters of a cure are derived based on the original testing done at the first visit. It cannot be based on the reactions of others even if that is what brought you into the office. Why? Because other people may overreactor underreact; other people do not know how to gauge a smell using the organoleptic scale; and other people are not reliable indicators. While they may even say you still have a problem after treatment, the tests we perform are the final determination of success.” When we recently saw you, you related that you had a bad taste in your mouth that developed two weeks after your bad breath was cured. As I explained, we have no way to measure taste and taste is not what we treat. Yo your breath. I do not know what t was no detectable odor based on explicitly state that other people are not trained in detecting odors.Included as part of the treatment is a list of items that you need to keep doing to stay bad-breath free. We give these to every person as handouts. They included things like diet, hydration, proper methods for tongue cleaning, etc. to maintain the results.  When you left our office after your last visit on October 23, 2015, you were cured. However we cannot control what happens once you leave our care. Before your treatment ended successfully, we requested that you return in 3-4 months so that we can gauge whether your biofilm comes back, and if so, how much. But even after 10 months, we were able to remove the biofilm and odor and accomplish the same four objectives mentioned in Parameters of A Cure. Your Halimeter was 95, there was no organoleptic odor, and your gauze had no color or odor. You had no bad breath.Again, I am sorry that you believe you still have a problem, but according to our records you were cured on October 23, 2015. And when your follow-up treatment was completed on June 1, 2016, you also passed all tests, including the oral chromatography test (Oral Chroma), a new test we have instituted since your last visit. The Oral Chroma divides up bad breath into 3 different volatile sulfur compounds, hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, and dimethylsulfide. I am attaching a polf of your readings that show (green bars) that you had far less than the detectable amounts of all three compounds. For those reasons, I am unable to refund your fee.Richard *.
