Review: I was contacted by National Debt Collector's regarding an overdue debt. I did not receive a written certified letter from them. When attempting to ask for one, they would quickly end the call. During one call, I attempted to settle the amount, without verifying. Whenever this settlement was not reached, I was contacted again, at work. I was told that if I could not give them a payment, the settlement would be off the table. Since I couldn't, the settlement was cancelled. They asked for a monthly amount that they could schedule, whenever I said I didn't know at the moment, they informed me that this debt would settled one way or another. I was told that this matter would be addressed in court, even though nothing has ever been taken to court. I was told that since I have a job, they would garnish my wages. I have this recorded. I felt as though I was being threatened. Whenever I attempted to ask them to stop the calls at my work, they quickly ended the call. Whenever the collector read me the understandings of the call, he asked if I understood, I said no. I really didn't understand what he was telling me. As soon as I said no, he ended the call without further clarification. There have been harassing calls to my friends and family. Calls to my place of business. Whenever I attempt to ask for this to stop, they hang up.Desired Settlement: To have this matter proven to me and to be able to work out any debt that I may owe. I have not avoided them and have tried to work this matter through.
