Received about $12,000 3 months after applying. My daughter received another 4 grand in February

. I have tried for a couple days now to talk to someone on the phone, but of the four people they have on their voicemail, I havent been able to get in contact with any of them. I also noticed in the emails that they sent to me was I had two case numbers, which I also thought was a red flag. I also noticed every email was from a different person, with only one name that was the same as the names on their voicemail. This could be nothing, but it just didnt seem right to me. One of the emails had a name at the top of it, ***, but on the bottom of the very same email was the name ***. That definitely got my attention. Like does this person not know her own name? to make a long story short, I told my doctor just to ignore the application that was being sent to her to fill out on my behalf, things just didnt add up. I am a little concerned still because I did fill out the online application so they have a great deal of my personal information and I dont know what to do about that:( I think the work they claim to do for 30 percent of your settlement is a little steep and a person can do what they claim to do, for themselves for a lot cheaper.

I made he mistake of reaching out to the NDCA approximately 4 years ago! They sent documents to my family doctor asking her to complete them. At an appointment with her she mentioned that she had received he documents and told me ha she refused to fill hem out as she did not do that with the NDCA because they take a percentage of the clients monies if the qualify for a credit. keep in mind tha the only thing the NDCA did for me was send he document package to my doctor who refused to complete them. After that discussion I emailed the NDCAinforming them that their services were no longer needed as my doctor would not complete their forms. I have the email! Fast forward about 2 months. My family doctor encouraged me to print out the forms from the CRA website, fill out my personal information and then bring them into her and she will complete he physician section. She completed the forms after approx 6 weeks and called me to pick them up. There was a charge for this service of $75. I paid that fee and I proceeded to mail the documents myself. On December 12 I received a notice from CRA that I was going to receive a credit. Not an hour after reading that message, I received an email from the NDCA attaching an invoice for services rendered relating to their hard work in getting me the credit!!!! WAIT! WHAT? You mailed a document to my doctor who refused to work with you and I severed the relationship! I kid you not, I've received at leave 7 phone calls and 6 emails with the "past due"invoice on the 13and several days after. I got a phone call on Dec 19th asking me where the payment was. I respectfully told the lady that I had not received the cheque from CRA and that I was waiting to hear back from someone regarding the issue. She said "oh, you didn't signup for direct deposit?" I was appalled that she asked me that question. What business is it of hers how I choose to bank? Finally the person I was waiting to hear from called me on Wednesday evening. She let me tell the story and told me that she would speak to her supervisor and that either she or her supervisor would call me back the next evening! She also told me tha she would make a note on the file tha I'm not to receive any further phone calls or emails. It is now Sunday and I've heard nothing from her or her supervisor by phone. Just 5 minutes ago I received another notice that my invoice is outstanding. When I say that these people are relentless you have no idea!! Why do the think the are entitled to anything? I would be willing to pay for the postage on the document package that they sent to my doctor nothing more!!

The NDCA claims to support the filing of a claim for the disability tax credit. I inquired as to the process and was given a preliminary phone call. I proceeded with the process of submitting appropriate documents etc... The Government denied the claim. I never heard anything from the NDCA about the denial of the claim. I proceeded to contact the government and submitted an appeal. A part of the appeal was further document submission of which I sourced and accessed and submitted. The NDCA did not support or complete any submissions on my behalf for the appeal process. The part they played was denied by the Government.
The work I completed on the appeal gave the Government the required information to reconsider the application and accept it.
The acceptance (thru appeal) then prompted the NDCA to submit an invoice for their services.
The services was on the initial claim that was rejected. I attempted to resolve this matter with the NDCA and I have yet to hear a response. They will not return emails or phone calls.
I believe it is outside their services to bill for the work they did not participate with for the appeal process.

Desired Outcome

I expect the invoice to be adjusted accordingly. The initial claim was rejected. The NDCA did no work on the appeal. They should be provided fee for the initial service at a discounted rate as the work was rejected by the Government. Had I not continued with the appeal process and providing further documentation there would be no expectation of any fee by the NDCA.

National Disability Credit Alliance Response • Sep 11, 2018

The NDCA has worked and continues to work in good faith on behalf of our client to secure the maximum amount of tax refund available to her. All funds received by our client in this matter are a direct result of the tax work the NDCA completed on her behalf.

The initial IFR submitted was rejected by the CRA. Our client subsequently re-submitted the documents and secured the approval for her son. Once the tax credit approval was in place, NDCA Tax Specialists submitted the tax work needed to the have the applicable funds released. The tax work submitted by the NDCA resulted in a payout of $34,668.41 to our client. There have also been 2 additional requests submitted by the NDCA for tax refunds on behalf of our client. One of the submissions has already been approved and additional funds have been released to our client. The second submission is still pending approval with CRA.

The Consumer contends that "The NDCA did not support or complete any submissions on my behalf for the appeal process". In fact, the $34,668.41 received by the client was a direct result of the disability tax credit request that was submitted July 30, 2018 by the NDCA on behalf of our client. A copy of this submission receipt from CRA can be provided. We continue to work in good faith on behalf of our client in this matter and the matter still pending approval from CRA. With that in mind we have agreed to reduce the invoiced amount on this file by 50%. A 50/50 split seems fair given the amount of work done by both parties. We sincerely hope that this is an acceptable compromise and look forward to a favourable response.
