We wish to respond to the complaint captioned above as follows:
On March 22, 2014, Ms. [redacted] enrolled her daughter in the 20 week TV...

Print program that commenced on March 31, 2014. Her daughter attended 17 of the 20 sessions, which is 85% of the length of the program.
The Enrollment Contract (copy attached) Ms. [redacted] signed contains a Refund Policy that governs the financial terms of the transaction. The Refund Policy clearly states that a student who attends more than 50% of the total training program shall be responsible for the full tuition. Since Ms. [redacted]'s daughter attended 85% of the training program, the obligation is for the full tuition.
Ms. [redacted] states she "asked specific questions regarding termination." While that may have been the case, the written contract that she signed reduced the terms of the training to writing. In fact, less than one half of an inch above Ms. [redacted]'s signature is a statement, "Do not rely on oral representations. Read your contract before you sign." This written contract protects both parties.
We understand Ms. [redacted] tried to contact employees at John Casablancas to no avail. But this statement is less than credible in light of the fact that she had numerous opportunities for face-to-face communications at least 17 times, when she took her daughter to classes.
Ms. [redacted] states she discovered "this was a scam". If she believed this to be the case, then why did she continue to take her daughter to class and allow her to attend? On what does she base this statement! Surely not on comments by her daughter, in light of the fact that we obtained the Class Critiques (copies enclosed) she filled out each week and none of them contain any complaints, negative comments or anything else that would lead us to conclude there was a scam. In fact, without exception, these written Critiques paint a glowing picture of the school, its instructors and the training program.
Having investigated this complaint, we must disagree with Ms. [redacted]'s statements and we find no reason to make a refund of any payments made. Her account with us is delinquent and we will pursue the balance of her payments in accordance with the terms of her Enrollment Contract. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this complaint and will consider the matter to be closed, unless we hear further from you.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
