National Ems Institute Reviews (3)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] Please add your rejection comments below Let me be a little more clear here because according to your response you seem to be mis led.I did not pay for a certification program thinking I was guaranteed a certificateI did enter the program with excitement, expecting to be treated with respect, dignity and fairnessThis did not happen.I took the fast track program, knowing it would be difficultAs most accelerated programs have that reputation. The instructor " [redacted] " was known to have an extremely aggressive approachHis approach was negative, threatening and degradingUnder no circumstances with any field you are studying should you be told that you will not make it in the business and you will not last on an ambulanceThis is for people WHOM PAID BIG MONEY to find out for themselvesMany people studying for this particular certification were doing it for personal reasons and or an extension of their current degreeBefore spending over $dollars I was very aware of what the class entailed.National EMT institute is by far one of the more expensive certificate programs for an EMT classPeople are not paying to be harassed and mis treated and told they will not make it in the real worldEveryday for two weeks, " [redacted] used fowl language and directed his rude and angry comments towards students.I had one week left in the accelerated programMy average was a 78% which was undoubtedly higher than three quarters of the rest of the classI stayed after and reviewed each of my tests with [redacted] to make sure I understood the ones I answered incorrectlyI would say this shows incentive to pass!It was a Friday afternoon in class while we were doing practicals: [redacted] was showing us how to use a stretcherWhen it came my turn he said to me "what the fk are you doing?" "Didn't you just watch everyone else." Then proceeded to yell, "stop, I fking showed you the right way." This was in an overly aggressive tone and in front of the whole classI felt about two inches high, as I have never touched a stretcher in my lifeThis behavior is singling someone out and it is against the law to use harassment and fear as a teaching technique.***, also had everyone partner up in the class and two people were to lift him up onto the ambulance [redacted] is not a small manHe had women who were maybe pounds lifting him on a stretcherThen openly making them feel bad about themselves because they could not handle the weight(Once again this is not a part of the curriculum to prove to people, AFTER THEY PAY for the course that they are not worthy or capable of the job)I called [redacted] (Vice President) several, several times and left many messages trying to speak to her about how uncomfortable I felt in the classShe never returned my callsMy father knowing how I was being mis treated also reached out to [redacted] several times with no call backI also left two voice messages for the owner on his school voicemail asking for a return callMy father as well, called the owner and left him more than one message expecting a call back to settle this matter. My father finally spoke to a newer employee that was driven to get a response from [redacted] ***This man did hear all my complaints and has them documentedDuring this time, I did not want to lose my money or throw away my passion for becoming an EMTI switched to another class, hoping the instructor would not have a harassing approach [redacted] ***, charged me the $transfer fee after speaking to this newer employee and was aware of the brutal language and the be lilting, [redacted] used as a teaching methodI started the second EMT class at a different location with a different instructor, expecting to be treated with respect, dignity and fairness***, was the instructor of this particular class A majority of this class had some medical field backgroundBy the time we got the second test results people had averages of 50's to low 70'sWe complained as a class and felt his "power point slides" and teaching had nothing to do with the questions being asked on the tests***, said because 85% of the class was not doing well he was going to start writing students up if they got below an 80% on the test***, explained that this would make people study and take the course more seriouslyThe problem wasn't the students studyingThe problem was [redacted] and his lack of knowledge and incapabilities of teaching [redacted] writing Students up after the first test was a new approach, an approach he chose to take that isn't written or spoke about in the "student handbook." You need to graduate with an 80% averageNo, where in the handbook does it state that you must achieve an 80% on tests or you will be written upIt says cumulatively you need an 80% to pass the class Further, [redacted] said after write ups you will be asked to leave the classBy the send test more than half the class was onto their second write upThere was an uproar in this class, people were going to be asked to leave a class before they were given the opportunity to achieve an 80%? I spent over three hours of my life on taking the required online classes we had to have finished by the end of the curriculumThis online class was worth 40% of your gradeAccording to the syllabus percentages, I would of passed with flying colorsSpeaking to the class as a whole [redacted] explained that if you had below a 75% at this point you will not be able to catch up by the end of class(This is an illegal statement) We had weeks left of classStudents were beyond angered with his commentsIt got to the point where "***" the lead and test maker had to come in and watch and listen to the information [redacted] was putting out to the students [redacted] pulled specific students aside and spoke to them individually one being " [redacted] ." [redacted] a student and [redacted] the professor argued loudly in front of the class and because of the intensity had to take the argument outsideWould you consider this professional? Does this sound like a stable learning environment? As a class we had [redacted] committed to stay after and go over some scenario cases for testing purposesThis was suppose to happen on a Monday and he neglected to do soI requested practice quizzes to study from for homework for myself and other studentsHe gave us a packet of information with no answer keyWhogives students who already have a bulk of reading to do and studying- a practice information packet with no answers to be foundThese are students reaching out because they want to engage themselves and be taught because they feel this is lacking.I could go on and on with horrible teaching stories about these two professorsIf you do need more information I would be happy to supply itI will take this further than the Revdex.com if need beI want a total refund including the transfer feeThe attorney general has been notified Regards, [redacted] ***

Good morning [redacted] , I understand your frustration however, we must stand behind our strict Withdrawal Policy. I am transcribing this policy for you below which can be found on our website under the "Refund & Transfer" tab. This policy is also on our EMT course application which every... student reads when enrolling in our program. Since the application was filled out completely, that shows that you have read and understood this policy when you enrolled in our course.Official Withdrawal To qualify for the refund levels defined above, a student must officially withdraw from the course they are enrolled in. This can be done by submitting the following information within the timeframe identified above. 1. Letter of request for refund, explicitly stating the reason for withdrawal. 2. The name of the NEI course or training in which you are withdrawing. 3. The amount paid for the course. 4. The date payment was made for the course. 5. Acknowledgement that a $250.00 enrollment processing fee is not available for refund. This must be sent to the National EMS Institute Headquarters in Carver, MA and must be postmarked 15 or 8 days prior to the first day of the training. This letter must come by [redacted] using a certified letter. The letter can be address to: National EMS Institute Inc. 90 Main St. Carver, MA 02330 [redacted] , you're letter did not come at all, never mind within the allotted timeframe prior to the course start date. [redacted] had requested the tracking information so that we would be able to verify that it was sent to us. Without a tracking number, we have no proof that the letter was sent on the appropriate day/time since it was not physically received. If you can locate the tracking slip from the [redacted] , please do email a photo of that to [redacted] so we can rectify the situation. We do allow students a one time transfer to a new course if you are still interested in becoming an Emergency Medical Technician. Otherwise, we wish you the best!

As an enrolled student at National EMS Institute, all students are required to take the State Practical exam for $This is explained in the course start paperwork that every student fills out and it is also listed on the applicationIf a student drops out past the point that exam fees are due, that is non refundableWe have to purchase the correct amount of examiners for the test based on the amount of students we have enrolled in the program
