November 3, Please accept this letter as the response of Regional Finance Corporation of NorthCarolina (“Regional”)At Regional, we truly value our customers’ satisfaction and will work toward theresolution of any issues. In your complaint, you stated that a charge-off account, in collection status, is appearing on yourcredit two times, both with Regional Management Corporation and Credit Recovery Associates (“CRA”).In addition, you stated that both Regional Management Corporation and Credit Recovery Associates arethe same entityYou state that you called the phone number listed for CRA, and a representative namedNatalie answered the phone, stating she was with Regional Management CorporationYou asked therepresentative to explain the charges on the accounts, because you noticed that each time a dispute is filed, the collection amount increasesYou feel that this is a retaliation tactic to discourage future disputes. In the complaint, you further stated the representative informed you that your current balance was$2116.08, but the credit report you pulled from Equifax the day prior showed a balance of $Uponasking the representative why the amount was off by $1.16, she responded that she did not knowTherepresentative then explained that when the account was transferred from Regional to CRA on August 7,2012, the balance was $1,She stated a late fee of $and a legal fee of $was assessed andadded to the existing balance, bringing the new total to $The representative also stated that sinceMarch of 2013, a monthly late fee of $had been applied to the accountYou stated that months oflate fees is $726, and when added to the balance of $1351, the total balance should only be $2,Thisleft a $discrepancy, when compared to the total provided to you by the representative, of $2,116.08.When asked about the discrepancy, the representative stated that she “did not know” and inquired as towhether or not you intended to resolve the accountIn response, you asked if it was business practiceto not explain balances or charges to customers, to which the representative replied “yes,” and that theremay be “additional charges that are not listed on the account”In closing, you asked Regional to investigateas you feel CRA is “intentionally adding invalid charges in an effort to discourage future disputes”.In response to your claims, Regional would first like to note that Regional ManagementCorporation and Credit Recovery Associates are not the same entityRegional Management Corporation isa consumer finance company, and Credit Recovery Associates is a collection agencyYour loan wasoriginated, held with, and reported to the credit bureaus by Regional FinanceRegional Finance then soldthe loan to CRA for collection purposesBoth CRA and Regional Finance are wholly owned subsidiariesof Regional Management CorporationFurthermore, per the enclosed ADV, Regional is accuratelyreporting your loan as charged off, in a transfer/sold status and with a zero balanceCRA is accuratelyreporting your loan as charged off and continues to report the current account balance and prior loan history. In response to the difference of $referenced in the complaint, the balance of the loan changedfrom $2,to $2,due to the accrued interest of per diemAdditionally, while the interest doesaccrue daily, Regional reports to the credit bureaus on a monthly basisAs such, a slight difference in thebalance recorded in Regional’s loan management system and the credit bureau is expectedRegional regretsthat this $difference and a comprehensive explanation of charges incurred on the account was notclearly explained upon your initial inquiryRegional has taken the corrective action of coaching our staffin an effort to clearly explain accrued interest and account charges for our customers going forwardPerour investigation, the following a full breakdown of all accrued interest and charges that exist on youraccount:The loan in question was opened on August 7, in the amount of $1,This amount iscomprised of a $1,convenience check and a $service chargeThe total payback amount ofthe loan, at the time the convenience check was cashed, was $1,This included the $1,200check amount and a finance charge of $The finance charge breaks down to $ininterest and the $service chargeThe total payback amount of $1,corresponds with 18monthly payments of $Due to this being a pre-computed loan, interest is accrued at a rate ofper diemRegional had not received a payment on the account since August 7, As aresult, the loan was sold to CRA on December 11, in the amount of $1,This amountincludes the original loan amount of $1,plus $in accrued interest and late fees.As of today’s date, November 29, 2017, the current balance on the loan in question is $2,123.18.This includes the $1,originally sold to CRA, plus an additional $interest, accrued atper diem, for the days between December 11, and November 29, No late feeshave been added to the account since the loan was sold to CRA.Neither Regional nor CRA engages in the practice of adding invalid charges to accounts in an effort todiscourage disputesYour account with CRA will continue to accrue interest and the balance will increasedaily until such a time the account is brought current and paid in full.Based on our investigation, Regional does not feel that forgiveness of your loan is an appropriateresponse to your complaint and considers this matter closed.Sincerely,R [redacted] Z [redacted] Complaint & Fraud AnalystEnclosures

Therepresentative then explained that when the account was transferred from Regional to CRA on August 7,2012, the balance was $1,225. She stated a late fee of $83.39 and a legal fee of $126 was assessed andadded to the existing balance, bringing the new total to $1351. The representative also stated that sinceMarch of 2013, a monthly late fee of $12.75 had been applied to the account. You stated that 57 months oflate fees is $726, and when added to the balance of $1351, the total balance should only be $2,077.
