National General Insurance Company (Imperial)

Our travel trailer was insured by National General and was declared a total loss due to the recent flooding in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. We were dealt with through another agency to do the replacement of our camper, who 'found' us a unit in North Carolina that was nothing near what we had. Same make and model but ours was a special order and the one we were given is a baseline, much cheaper unit. It took over 2 months for this whole process during which time I was still paying premiums to National General thinking that the policy was transfer over to the new camper, but it did not. We were still paying for the totaled out unit because claims did not advise customer service of the loss. The new camper was dropped off to us with no coverage whatsoever, but they had falsified documentation to the lien holder that it in fact was covered. I have since cancelled the policy on the totaled unit and was charged over 30% of the premiums paid for only 6 days of coverage. Even after all of this, I tried to obtain coverage on the new camper but was treated awful on the phone and decided to get insurance elsewhere. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.
