Technician came to house to diagnose why cool air was not reaching upper level in a bi level house. He stayed for 2 hours and decided it was due to smart thermostat. He promised to come back in same day with a new unit, which he no showed. Next day he removed the smart thermostat and installed a generic unit. Yesterday, when temperature reached 89 degrees, I turned on ac. The condenser came on, but no cool air at all. He did not return the smart thermostat and now I have nothing after paying the company $719.27. The new thermostat is worthless.
Our standard policy when a tech completes a job is to take any replaced items/damaged parts with them (in this case the replaced thermostat). Additionally, our goal is to provide our customers with excellent service and to correct any unresolved issue immediately. Upon learning the customer desired his old thermostat back (June 29th) and was not happy with the service performed, we offered to return the old thermostat as well as send our senior tech out to resolve any outstanding issue free of charge. On July 1, we did send our senior technician to the customer's house and returned the old thermostat as well as fixed the system (air conditioning) and the unit was fully operational at that time. This work was performed at no charge to the customer. It is our understanding the customer's issues with respect to both the thermostat and operation of air conditioning unit have been resolved.
