business owner did nothing to help me only took my $400,business owner already knew that I did not quify for a harp loan, but stated that he could helpbusiness owner stated that he could help my financial situation related to saving by house from foreclosure with [redacted] mortgage ,by getting same note or lower payment, stated that he had been doing this business for a long time and stated that the worse thing that could happen is that the amount that I was behind would be put on the back end of loan and I i would start back paying my regular payment that I already had ,I had already informed him that I had a previous modification and did not qualify for the harp loan, the business owener stated that he still could help me ,when ever I would call business to check on status of modification ,I was always made to feel as if I was bother them, when modication process was finished , my notes went up more than $50 and the terms of loan went from 30 years to 40 years, he never comminuted probably to me about the modification process and when I would call business and I never got the answers that I need and ended up call [redacted] myself, I finally got tired of the business and ask [redacted] to remove the business from my account as a third party, I was very very upset when modification process was finished and had to go and borrow money to pay my loan up in full( almost $2000) and turn right around and pay another house note in 2 weeks in order to keep my house ,the money I paid them could have went toward a house note if he knew that he could not help me ,he really made my bad situation worse.Desired Settlement I would like a full refund , because business knew that he could not help me and made a bad situation worse and cause me to have to borrow money at last minute to save my house or else agree to a modification with a higher note for 10 more years.Business Response Client is exactly right in everything she stated in her complaint. Client was given a modification that prevented any type of foreclosure and the client was given her worse case scenario of her payment remaining the same. She had a $45 increase in the payment due to her escrow increasing(property taxes and insurance) this can be verified with her mortgage company [redacted] Escrow is out of the control of NHPA and [redacted]. NHPA delivered on what was discussed with the client. It appears the client has declined the modification after making her trial payments on her modification that NHPA completed for her. NHPA completed the job and we see no grounds for a refund. NHPA would like to offer the advice of the client speaking to her tax assessor for a evaluation of her property taxes and her insurance company to see if they will consider reducing her premium. NHPA has responded and is closing this file completely.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The owner clearly told me on our first meeting that the worse case scenario would be that the payments that I was behind on ,would be put on the back end of my loan and I would continue to pay the same amount $605.60 ,I had informed the business owner that I had spoke with [redacted] and told them that I was going to hire a 3rd party business to help me with my loan mod, ,all of the representives that I spoke with informed me that this business could not do any more than I could if I submitted the info myself ,I informed the business owner of what [redacted] mortage told me, the business owener stated (that because my Interest rate was already low ,[redacted] would not help me and he stated that he could do things that I could not do, because he has worked in this business for a long time , and so I trusted what he told me ,otherwise I would have never ever paid money to a business to give me a worse payment and a longer loan term, which he never ever mention could happen, after calling the business several times and was made to feel as if I was bothering them I spoke with business owner and ask if I could have my money back and he told me no, so since I had given him my money and hoped that they would help me ,business only called me twice to communicate with me about my loan, I was the one who did all of the calling to communicate with the business and I was the one who informed business owner that my insurance had went up, he did tell me to try and find another insurance , but I already knew to do that ,even through my insurance ,went up , that does not change the fact that the only mod that I was offered was with a higher interest rate and a longer term, that the business owner never ever told me would happen, besides , my escrow has changed in past ,I know that escrow can make you payments change, but I am upset about the fact that the business owener was not truthful about what he could do, and do not think it is fair that the business tells you to (trust me and can get mod done and the worse case scenario would be to go back to paying same note ,again ,I am not upset about escrow,I very upset about interest rate and loan terms that he stated that would not happen and the fact that I had to borrow money from people to save my home ,and this should happen to people, I could have paid that money that I have the business to a house not ,but of course he told me not to paid any more money on my house note and he would help, he did not help at allFinal Business Response NHPA has responded and stand by the fact homeowner was given a modification. Client is given a worst case scenario and best case scenario. Client's worst case was the payment would stay the same and this is the modification the client received. This matter is closed proof of modification in file and on record with [redacted]. NHPA has given its final response.
