National Indian Gaming Commission Reviews (%countItem)

I was called several times by The Gaming Commission and was told that I had won a second prize in the amount of $285,000. and that I needed to send in $550.00 first to cover the taxes on the winnings. I told him, I don't have that kind of money laying around, and that an article in the newspaper stated, " if you are told that you have won any money and then, asked to send any money in first", that it is a SCAM! The person gave their name as agent Michael Scott. I hung up the phone. They keep calling me . I'm not returning their calls.

I have been called by this outfit twice when I wasn't home. I tried to call back today (Oct. 31) since they gave me a toll-free number, but got a voicemail that said to leave a name and number. The message given on voicemail was about me winning second place in an American "something" sweepstakes out of Nevada. The speaker was very-well spoken and sounded legit. Until I decided to go online to check out the "National Gaming Commission."
I also was given a name and number: David Miller in the claims division at 1-877-589-0023. Wonder if they will call back. I won't take the call.
So, beware, this appears to be the scam I figured it was.
I am trying to submit a complaint here, not a review.

This is a scam. Contacted by a Special Agent Brian Lee, claiming I won a sweepstakes and I only needed to give them 1% of the prize. He claimed that he was a government agency located at 1107 Park Ave in Washington DC. There is no government sweepstakes agency. His number is 202-866-7097.

This organization does appear to be a scam. I received a call to my cell phone (which fortunately went to voice mail because I couldn't answer at the time) and the message was from "Agent Brian L" of the "National Gaming Commission". When he said the name of the person he wanted to talk to, he said a name that is an incorrect version of mine, something I believe some individual created and started using a few years ago as a mild form of identity theft. So the fact that he stated this false name instead of my real one told me he wasn't calling about anything actually related to me. He did not say what he was calling about. He merely said to call (202) 866-7097, ext. 1001. This morning I looked up the NGC on Google and instead of there being a U.S. government listing, the 1st listing was from the Revdex.com. Clicking on that link, it was clear that this was NOT a government entity. The company was categorized as "Prize Promotions" and had a bad rating. The Revdex.com said they had attempted to contact NGC via mail, but the envelope was returned. And the phone number Revdex.com listed for NGC was different. I called the 202 number to tell them to discard my case because it was bogus. The phone call was answered by the guy who left the message. When I told him I wanted to speak to "Agent Brian L" at ext. 1001, he said that this was ext. 1001 and that he was Brian L. That extra layer of fishiness sort of drove the last nail in the coffin. I started to tell him that he was dealing with a bogus file, and I noticed visually that apparently the phone call had ended. I checked, and indd it had. He terminated the call. (If the call accidentally got cut off, I'm sure he would've called me back.) I guess once he heard words that were different from what he wanted to hear, he assessed that he wasn't going to be able to succd in whatever scam he was ready to launch, and so he "pulled the plug". I don't expect to be called again.
