National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence Reviews (7)

I have to reject as I took two Ttests and both were off by one question and I'm not allowed to see where the hangup is for myselfI had plenty of reference materials and did not use nor request theirs as I had the same information available to me and in more detailI've been factory certified in steering and suspension (T5) beforeThe issue is the questioning and scoring methods they use and seem to refuse to changeI would accept if I could actually see it or a third-party could review it, so unfortunately we can not come to an agreementThank you Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Regards, [redacted] ***

The customer’s certificate was mailed to the street address that was listed on his recordWhen the certificate was returned by the postal service, an email notification was sent to the customer on May 9, 2017, requesting a correct addressIn response, a PO Box number was provided; however, it was
also stated that the certificate could be sent to the street address where the customer has resided for numerous years Since the street address was already on record, the customer service representative placed the certificate in the mail to the same address on May 9, *** was contacted the following day on May 10, 2017, and informed that the certificate would not be received at the street address because the envelope will not fit in the mailbox The certificate has not been returned by the postal service a second timeThe customer service representative thought that she was doing the right thing by sending it to the street addressTo ensure that the customer receives his certificate, a duplicate certificate is being mailed on Monday, May 22, 2017, to the PO Box address*** believes that this settles the case

I have to reject as I took two T5 tests and both were off by one question and I'm not allowed to see where the hangup is for myself. I had plenty of reference materials and did not use nor request theirs as I had the same information available to me and in more detail. I've been factory certified in steering and suspension (T5) before. The  issue is the questioning and scoring methods they use and seem to refuse to change. I would accept if I could actually see it or a third-party could review it, so unfortunately we can not come to an agreement. Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

[redacted] If I had been notified me up front that the original certificate had been returned from this address, (where the mailbox is too small to receive it,) I would have not asked for it to be sent there. I feel they should have informed me they already used that address instead of allowing me to have it resent there, thinking it had been addressed wrong originally.I appreciate the additional copy because this time they crumpled up the original and stuffed it into the mailbox along with lots of junk mail. It looks horrible.[redacted]

ASE's Response: ASE tests are electronically scored upon completing the test at the test center.  [redacted] took the Medium/Heavy Truck Suspension and Steering (T5) test and disagreed with the outcome.  He requested that ASE manually review his results. The manager of Medium/Heavy...

Vehicle Test Development reviewed [redacted]'s T5 test results and confirmed both attempts of the test were accurately scored and reported.Proposed Settlement: [redacted] was notified that no scoring errors were found.  Although it is outside of our scope of expertise, he was provided with several resources in an effort to assist him with test preparation and training.  ASE believes that fulfilling the candidate's request to manually review his T5 test results and providing test preparation and training resources settles the case.

Review: I have paid and taken the required test for ASE Master Medium/ Heavy Truck Technician. On 14 May 2014 I completed the remainder of the ASE test required for the Master Certification. All test were posted to the ASE site except for T5 test which is required for my Master certification. I contacted ASE Customer service to inquire about the problem and explain I am unemployed and applying for a job. I need the results to improve my chances of getting the job. I phoned and left my number. They did not get back to me as stated they would. I sent a message online. I did not receive a response. I called and stayed on the line the next day until I talked to a lady who was a tem. (She was polite and tried to help me) I sent my copy of my passing test results to her on the 16th of May which is a Friday. She turned the score sheet into her supervisor on Monday the 19th of may. The comments on the score sheet stated test results would be posted to the ASE site by two business days. I needed to submit my information for my job but can not just tell them I am qualified Master without supporting documentation. The supervisor does not seem concerned with my problem and has not contacted me about anything. I feel the company has already received my payment so they dont need to care about good service. I took the test because they led me to believe that employers respect their testing. How can I respect their testing if they do not stand by their comments or show any concern for their customers. The supervisor will not give me a date I can expect this problem to be resolved. The temp personnel have only responded with additional promises to contact me to let me know after they talk to the supervisor, but the supervisor is either out of the office or too busy to handle my issue.Desired Settlement: I want my score for my test T5 posted to the site and my Master Technician status posted as well so I can claim this qualification with a potential employer.
