To Whom It
May Concern:
This will
be my final response to Mr***’s concern about the very small chip in his
driveway. I am somewhat confused at the
continuation of this complaint, as Mr*** and I had a very cordial phone
conversation in response to his initial calls and Revdex.com complaintAt last
contact, he made every indication that the issue was settled
After Mr
***’s initial phone calls, one of the crew members did stop at the ***
residence to take photos of the problem area Mr*** had reported that a corner of his
driveway slab had broken and left a sizeable hole. In reality, a small triangular chip was
missing from one corner of a slab.
Despite Mr***’s approximation of size, the actual size of the
missing chip was less than half the size mentioned in his complaint above---a
triangle less than 6” long and 2” wide.
My worker finally decided that this must be the area of concern and took
a few photos to show me. He also noted
that there are several other areas in Mr***’s driveway with similar tiny
chips---these are all in areas where we did not do any work
We last
spoke on December 4, and I personally apologized for our slow response to his initial
call and informed him that we did get notification of his Revdex.com complaint that
morning, but a crew member had already been out to see what we could do to help. I told him what we saw and mentioned that I wasn’t
sure if we had caused the chip or simply blew away an already loose chip (caused
by the initial settling of the concrete) with our PSI pressure washer
during cleanup. I was 90% that this was
the case, but chose not to push the issue with Mr***. I politely apologized for the inconvenience
this blemish had caused then explained that on all of the paperwork provided to
him prior to the leveling, we make it very clear that in the process of moving these
lbslabs, chips and cracks are a possibility and we never guarantee
against them. Mr*** seemed to
understand this and agreed that the benefit of restoring five badly sunken
driveway slabs to their original positions was worth the risk of a very small
chip. In the last few minutes of our
conversation, I carefully explained that an easy fix would be to caulk the
small hole (I would normally have a crew stop in and do this free of charge,
but the last day of our work season was in mid-November, so all of our laborers
have been laid off for the winter and equipment winterized) I told him the exact product to buy, where to
buy it, and how to apply it. It would be
an easy $fix. He seemed satisfied with
this idea, and I ended the conversation happy that this issue had been put to
rest.
Perhaps
you can now imagine my confusion over the continuation of this complaint. In an effort to finally settle this issue, I
offer to have one of my workers come to caulk the chip free of charge. This will be our third unpaid trip to the
*** residence, so I am hopeful that this will be agreeable to Mr
***. As stated on our contract with
Mr***, this caulking will not carry any warranty.Sincerely,*** ***

We only use concrete to fill the holesAnd we did "walk away from the job" -- twice, before he decided to accept a quote. If MrS*** wants us to come back to adjust the blocks, he should call the officeWe gave written quotes to MrS*** AND emailed the quoteIf we have an agreement, the entire contract appliesIf we don't have an agreement then we needn't come back to adjust the concrete, since the warranty terms are written on the contract as wellMrS*** cannot accept the terms of the agreement that suit him and reject the rest of the agreement

To clarify Mr***'s understanding, winters are always hard on concrete in this climateIt would be no harder on a driveway leveled one month earlier or months earlierIt's always hard on concreteFor example, this year we are getting calls about concrete that was fine in previous years, but the severity of this winder was hard on themIn short, we plan on sticking to our agreement that any trip will incur a charge of $

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. First, let's get the facts straight:Yes* *** told us the plugs would not matchBUT, my wife and I made it very clear that we wanted those plugs to at least be somewhat less obviousIt was reasonably important to us -- not a deal breaker, but importantWhy did he take the job then if he couldn't deliver on a customer request? He should have just walked away from the jobNo effort was made to accommodate our requestYes the plugs will change in color as time goes onBut the color of the driveway will also changeSo, suggesting that everything will sort of match on some magical date in the future is pure speculation. Yes I paid the bill, as ***l notedWhy wouldn't I? That was my part of the dealAnd I upheld it.As far as settling goes* *** sort of suggests that I "check back later." Well, that's what I'm doing nowSome slabs are settling. The driveway is not years oldThe work was done in (so maybe years old? Big difference)We have the paperwork if ***l needs proofThe rest of the concrete is beautiful. I want to reiterate that no contract was signed by my wife nor ISo pointing to an unsigned contract is the legal equivalent of pointing to no contract at all.I am unhappy with the job and, quite frankly, surprised that ANY contractor would leave a job after cracking the very project he was hired to work onFirst time I've ever encountered thisThat can't be good for business.Regards, *** *** ***

Company response via phone: *** *** originally called for an estimate in We gave him a price to level patio for $ He only wanted a portion of the patio done, and we agreed to complete for $ He was told this was not a sufficient amount to get water to
drain away from the houseHowever, he insisted and we did the work Just this summer, he called, and said that some of the blocks we had leveled had sunken, and he needed more blocks of the patio leveledWe re-leveled the work under warranty at no charge But because of personality differences, we chose not to do anymore work for mr*** When I told him that we were no longer willing to do any more work, he became upset and threatened to call Revdex.com-- *** ***

It is difficult to have a conversation when one party is not truthful. There are absolutley no chunks of concrete missing anywhere near where they did the work. Additionally, I never had a discussion or received anything that indicated cracks, chips or chunks could happen and would not be guaranteed or simply repaired. I do not have a contract as MrGreen references and I would challenge him to produce anything I signed that would acknowledge this. Addionally, I never spoke to this gentleman before the work was done, so he could not have shared the information he says he did. I spoke to a woman who simply explained the process, costs, and scheduling of the wor. The only warranty item we discussed was their guarantee if the slabs sink again after their work. From my perspective, it is reasonable to assume that damage could occur during the process, but I would have expected them to repair the damage they created, especially if the repair only costs $as he is now indicating. I should have asked these questions. They should cover this information before they start doing work
Lastly, for some reason, he continues to call the damage a small chip or small hole and he questions my reported size of the damage. The size I previously reported was from an actual measurement and I also sent pictures to reflect the size of the damage
I regret that I allowed myself to be in this position and it's too bad that they created a difficult situation. Based on his response, tone and inaccuracies, I believe I am better off having the repair done by somebody else. I do not accept his offer and I will consider the matter closed with Green Concrete.Regards,***l ***

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]They sold me a product that barely lasted years I have the same issue with the concrete as I did when I called them out here The product worked for years and I had to call them back in to re level it as the product failed within 3years the first time so I have plus into this product that doesn't seem to work I was trying to give them a second chance and maybe they have improved the product thus letting them do two additional pieces for me If they were a reputable company they would have made this right and fixed what they were paid to fix the first time So I am willing to pay another to fix the first mistake because in all actuality in 2012, I should have received another years of warranty because they redid the whole job over And also would have them do the new spots and give them another chance I don't want to be difficult, just want to be fair with what I have already paid for

In response to Mr. S[redacted]'s complaint: He was given the original estimate on 10/13/16. Our warranty was completely explained verbally and in writing, which explicitly states that there is no guarantee a block won't crack when lifting. In the spring of 2017 I, Randy G[redacted] met with Mr. S[redacted]...

and re-estimated the work doing less blocks per his request. In 40 years of being in business I have never said the new holes will match 30 year old concrete. I probably said that after 1 or 2 years the holes will blend in better as they weather and dirty up like everything else outside. Finally, when we had a crew working on a neighbors home to Mr. S[redacted], he got a third estimate from Greene Concrete Co. We did the work and Mr. S[redacted] paid the invoice by check upon completion of the work. At the time he saw the work, was satisfied and paid. In short, I have no intention of returning any money to Mr. S[redacted]. If any concrete has or does settle in the future he should read the warranty information and call the office like anyone else. Sincerely,[redacted]Owner

Business responded via phone as follows: Consumer's driveway was leveled. Chip in the corner of driveway broke off. Company dropped the ball and didn't talk to him. They spoke with the consumer about the chip that came out of the corner today, it's very small. Company explained that their...

contract states they are not responsible for cracks and chips. Consumer seemed satisfied with the explanation. They believe that the consumer was upset that he was not contacted.

Per phone conversation with [redacted]:Mr. [redacted]'s concrete leveling job has been out of warranty for almost 1 year.  He asked for an estimate and we gave him a substantially reduced estimate for 600.00 to level concrete that cost $890.00, almost 6 years ago.  This new work would...

carry a 10 year warranty.  He also wanted additional work done for another $600.00.  In his statement of the problem, he stated that the product does not work and he felt that he got scammed, yet at the same time, he wants us to do additional work for him.   That is totally confusing.  The warranty that we gave, we totally honored and we are not willing to refund any money whatsoever.

We first leveled approximately 17 driveway blocks,  6 public sidewalk blocks, and 5 front private sidewalk blocks for Mr. [redacted] on May 26, 2010. The driveway took an unusually large amount of fill, approximately 10 tons. The reason we give a long term warranty is because many of these...

situations cannot be stabilized in one visit. It is unusual that a driveway will be stable for 3 or 4 years and then need adjustment with 2 frequent visits. However, the quote that Mr. [redacted] received explicitly explains the terms of bringing substantial resources to readdress a settling situation. Mr [redacted] is no exception. We followed the terms of our agreement for all of our visits and we plan to do so in the future.

They wont write a report because the job doesn't require a permit. They said it that water gets under the driveway and washes away the martial under the pavement.

stay away, take your money and don't help find you a job. never got a job, no benefit found from this certificate. go to [redacted].
