Repetatively calls and hangs up phone calls. Calls representing lenders yet doesn't provide comprehensive information as to who they are representing and why. Threatens consumers with legal action before offering an opporunity for consumer to even pick a payment option. Brokers with courts to make consumers liable to them on behalf of unpaid internet lenders. Over talks consumers then hangs up the phone on them.
Very stern-voiced woman left message on my answering machine at 3:33 pm yesterday saying, "this is [redacted] calling from the office of [redacted] (but does not explain who he is). Said they had a "complaint submitted today" (but does say by whom) "regarding suspicious activity associated with your social security number and name." She then leaves her phone number (X-XXX-XXX-XXXX) instructing me to call as soon as possible with a threat of all that could happen if she does not hear from me. Lastly, she says "the 4 digits are 5502" then hangs up. But she says this last short sentence and the 4 numbers so fast that I had to play the message 4 rimes in order to understand this sentence and the number. She then quickly says she is with National Portfolio Services (whatever that is and however it fits this situation, I do not know. By the time I got the message, she was not in the office. I asked her to call 1st this in the morning. At 10:15 am this morning I called her, gave her my name and phone number and she kept interrupting me asking if she had used my name in the message even though I kept telling her I do not remember. I finally interrupted her enough to say that the 4 digits of what I assume was the social number IS NOT MINE She then firmly says TO IGNORE IT and hangs up. I felt all a long like it was a scam in the making. And I think it is totally wrong to call someone, leave that kind of message with a threat if you do not talk to her then just say IGNORE IT. So I wrote this as a help to advise others not to do business of any kind with them as the whole call and experience felt wrong.
