Timeshare scam
I won 2 bids on eBay for a timeshares from a seller with a user name Travel4you5. I called eBay to make sure that the customer was legit and that I was supposed to follow directions and contact them to purchase the item which is unusual for eBay. Usually you have to go through PayPal the representative at EBay told me that was correct but I had to contact them directly. They requested my personal email and had National Resort Title LLC, 1779 Newport Hwy, Sevierville TN 37876 , The title company sent me a contract and a credit card form, and I paid one with a credit card and one with a check. Then I could never get in contact with the seller or the title company. I called over 40 times but never a call back. When I would get a email back it would tell me another step in the process and it will take more time. Finally after 3 months I started to do more research and found out that multiple people are having the same problem. The website tugboat.com had a forum with many victims sharing information. Listed there was Sevier County sheriffs office who I contacted and found out this company has a file already and I was told over 50 people have been deceived and most of the time this company tries to wait it out and not pay them their money back. I filed multiple complaints one with the MO attorney general office and received a response from the company saying they already credited my credit card and that they were sending a check for the one I had written a check for. I did receive a check but they have yet to credit the card back like they said they had done.

BUYERS BEWARE
Thieves! This company is 100% a SCAM! Do not send the any money! I made the mistake of sending them money 4 months ago and nothing. We have been waiting on our timeshare to be put on our name. We have tried at least 30 times to call and never a call back!

Scam!
Do not give this company a penny! I bought 2 timeshares from a joke of a company call travel for you on eBay sent the money to this fictitious title company and for four months have been trying to get documentation, a return call, and the timeshare I bought! They will never answered a call and if they do email you back it will be a lie or a request for more money or information. Stay away from them!

We made a payment of $3467.12 to transfer a timeshare out of our name into theirs.
We sent an e-mail to cancel and they refuse to refund our money.
On June 23, 2020 my husband and I received a telephone call with an offer to buy into a vacation club and transfer our timeshare out of our name into theirs. They supposedly allowed us so much for our timeshare and the difference of that and the cost to buy into the vacation club was $3467.12. A contract from Vacation Experts International was sent to us, which we signed and gave our credit card information. At that time we were told we could cancel if we changed our mind. We then received an e-mail from *** National Resort Title Company, with a contract and a list of things that we needed to forward to her in order for the transfer to take place. We did not sign that contract or provide any information that was needed. On June 24 2020 I sent an e-mail indicating that we wished to cancel and have our money refunded. I called and left messages to see if this was occurring, but never received any return calls. I checked my credit card statement and the charge had already been posted to my account. I wrote a letter stating that we wished to cancel and sent it certified on June 28, 2020; it was returned as undeliverable as I had a physical address on it. I have disputed this with the credit card company, but National Resort Title Company are refusing to refund our money as they said we did not send in a letter to cancel; however, an e-mail was sent to them on June 24, 2020. On July 1 I received an e-mail from *** Good morning,
I have spoken with VEI and confirmed that you did choose to cancel the contract. I am moving your file back to VEI for the final cancellation paperwork. If you have any questions, please let
me know.
Thank you!
***
I never heard anything from them. I have made several telephone calls and sent follow-up e-mails and they have not responded. You can never speak to a live person when calling. They have stolen our money and will not communicate with us.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund of my money. We have not received any services.

National Resort Title Response • Sep 07, 2020

This client entered into a contract on 06/23/2020, in which the cancellation policy is detailed. The client is to call us and also mail in a letter of cancellation within 10 days of the date of the contract. To date, a cancellation letter has not been received from the client, and she is not due a refund. The client has disputed her payment with her credit card company, which we have won both times, as the credit card company reviewed the contract and agreed that the client violated the cancellation policy. This complaint is not warranted.

Customer Response • Sep 08, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept their response as the cancellation process was not included with the document we signed on June 23, 2020. We signed a document with Vacation Experts International, but did not sign the contract with National Resort Title. I see additional pages have been added to the document with the cancellation process and the authorization for the charge with the credit card company, but it was not included with the original document from Vacation Experts International. This company has provided us no services, but want to keep $3,467.12 of our money. How can a company be so dishonest? They are not a reputable company and do not have the decency to answer telephone calls or return calls when messages are left. That speaks for itself; dishonest company. Stealing seniors money, how proud they should be!!!

National Resort Title Response • Sep 09, 2020

I'm sorry to advise you that the client is blatantly lying. First of all, the cancellation policy is actually in TWO places in the client's contract; it is on page 7, as well as page 9. The client has a 10 day rescission period after signing, and most folks use that time to comb back through the contract and I would think familiarize themselves with the cancellation policy, should they consider canceling. Secondly, the client DID sign an agreement with our company on 06/23/2020. The Closing Agreement is page 9 of the 10 page contract, and yes the client did sign it; and like I previously mentioned, the cancellation policy is explained on our agreement as well. Thirdly, there have been absolutely no pages added to the clients contract after it was signed. To explain, Vacation Experts International uses www.rightsignature.com to send the contract to the client, and walks them through electronically signing the contract with their company, which contains the Closing Agreement naming us as the Closing Company to handle the closing process. Mrs. was sent her contract in 2 emails through Right Signature, and luckily, Right Signature generates a Signature Certificate anytime a contract is signed. Therefore I've got 2 Signature Certificates which show that the ***'s signed both of the contract attachments that were sent to her on 06/23/20, the I.P. Address from which the contract attachments were electronically signed, as well as the number of pages in each attachment (1 page on the first attachment, and 9 pages on the second), for a total of 10 pages. I also have the full signed contract, of which each page is numbered at the bottom, showing that there is a total of just 10 pages. So Mrs. false claim that there was no cancellation policy in the contract that she signed and that additional pages were added to her contract after the fact needs to be disregarded, as that is completely untrue. The client is upset that she failed to follow the cancellation policy that is clearly explained in not one, but two places in the contract that she signed. Therefore, she is not due a refund. All of my previously mentioned supporting documents have been emailed to the Revdex.com to review along with my detailed response to this complaint. I look forward to this complaint being closed out.

This client has not called or emailed our office for an updates. We received his notarized paperwork on 04/21 to start the transfer. We started the account verification with Cove at Yarmouth, which was completed on 05/18. We then started the title search on 05/20, which was completed on 06/09. The client's new deed was then mailed to the County to be recorded on 06/18. The recording stage of the transfer can take 3-4 weeks to complete with Barnstable County, but as soon as we receive the recorded deed, we will let the client know, and will then continue to the final stage of the transfer. Again this client has not contacted us by phone or email for an update, so this complaint was not necessary. Please close complaint.

They were friendly and fast with my transfer, it was done in a little over 2 months. I was happy with the service I received and would use again.

Thank you Ms., it was a pleasure working with you.

National Resort Title took money from us to rid us of our Timeshare and have failed to complete the process in 7 months.
In November of 2019 I responded to an advertising email from National Resort Title regarding their assistance in helping us to rid ourselves of a Timeshare we own. Having completed the paperwork process (after paying $2,700.) and communicating with Morgan Cook of the company in mid December, we were told it could take up to 4-6 weeks to complete the process. After hearing nothing from the company I reached out to Morgan (company rep) in mid February for an update and upon receiving communication back that she would be checking on the status and get back to me on February 20, 2020. April 27th while still hearing nothing I reached out again to Morgan Cook and she responded that they were still working. May 26th, I sent an email expressing my concerns and indicated I would be exhausting all areas to correct the problem and have not heard back anything since. I have all email communications saved and would be glad to forward them as needed.

Desired Outcome

Complete the job as they indicated and were paid in full.

was never told that the closing would take 4-6 weeks. In fact he was told by email that it would take 3-4 months on average. At that time, no one predicted the global pandemic of Covid-19 causing so many closures of businesses, thus delaying many to all of our transfers. I have attached my emails with advising him of the updates that I've had, and at the moment we are at the mercy of the Town of Breckenridge, as we need an RETT stamp before Summitt County will record the deed out of his name. We are trying to expedite all of our transfers as much as possible, given the circumstances that are limiting us greatly due to OTHER business and county closures, although our business is working in-office full time. Please review the attached email chain, and please close this complaint showing that we have made every attempt to resolve the issue.

National Resort Title (associated with Vacation Experts International) requesting a refund of $2,424.75
On 4/7/20 Vacation Experts International contacted us. They stated that they would buy our time share in Mass. and if we would give them $2,424.75. This amount was charged to our credit card on the same day 4/7/20 with the understanding that we could get this amount refunded if we changed our mind. We contacted Vacation Experts on 4/9/20 and stated we wanted to cancel this deal and get a refund of $2,424.75. They said that they would do this as soon as possible. But to date 4/25/20 no refund has been issued. We never signed an official deed transfer or send them our deed. All paper work was not completed.
I also called the credit card company (Discover) to dispute the charge of $2,424.75 and they temporarily removed that amount. I really don't know what to do next because National Resort Title has not given us a refund yet.

Desired Outcome

Refund from National Resort Title (Vacation Experts International) to our credit card of $2,424.75.

National Resort Title Response • Apr 28, 2020

This client signed a contract with Vacation Experts International and as all clients they have a 10 day rescission period to cancel and must send in a certified letter stating they want to cancel. This is listed directly in their contract and Vacation Experts International even goes over this with them when signing the contract. We have a copy of the contract the client signed and this client is in breach of contract as they never sent in a certified letter to cancel as per their contract. This is the reason Vacation Experts International signs contracts so both parties are protected. This is an unwarranted complaint and yes as the client has stated they filed dispute with their credit card company.

Customer Response • Apr 29, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When I called Vacation Experts International to cancel and requested a refund they told me that it will take time for the refund but they said it would probably take a week for their account dept to issue a refund. Nothing was said that I had to request a refund in writing. This company has National Resort Title handle their legal matters. We didn't sign their power of attorney or send them the deed to our time share. When I canceled they new I was waiting for my refund by then it was already too late because the 10 days had lapsed.

This client had been updated, and have been updated that transfers take 4 months and it's only been 2. We've updated him that the documents were ordered from diamond and we haven't received them. This is maintenance fee season and we cannot control the time it takes the resort to send them or if they are backed up. We have returned calls and he hasn't answered. And he left one voicemail for us that we have record of. He can email us also. We currently have over 5,000 clients that we are actively serving at this time, so it's not guaranteed that we can reply within minutes to all clients. PR is very important to us and we constantly provide it every day. We will be happy to contact give him the same update again that we have already provided him.
