National Retirement Fund

Beware members! My 95 YO MIL is a member of National Pension Fund. In the early hours of May 16 National Pension Fund sent 42 requests to my MIL's bank for repayment stating on 4/28 they were notified she had died and had been deceased since 2019. My MIL is alive and well and now penniless. The onus is on us to prove she is alive. A process that will no doubt be long and aggravating. In the meantime she is incurring penalties and fees. I cannot believe something like this is legal.

My husband sent his pension paperwork in early July of 2022. We never heard another word, and this is April 2023. I have called the number in Lincoln many times and was told that a letter was sent to us in December of 2022, but we never received it, I cannot even find out what was in the letter, and no one will call me back. I call now every week, get a different person every time, and still have no answers. The folks in lincoln have their hands tied. I understand that. What I do not understand, is why it is so difficult to find out something as simple as the STATUS of his application. If I were an employer, this is the last company that I would do business with. Very poor customer service.

I sent in my application for retirement benefits in October 2019. I received a letter in Dec 2019 they needed more time to process my request. I called in Feb. 2020 and was told it would be in April. On May 4th, 2020, I called and was told my application was in calculation. I asked if there was any problem with my paperwork and was told no. It is now July 21, 2020, 10 months since my original application. Nothing but silence. This is how your union benefits are managed.

My problem is getting National Retirement Fund to mail my retirement (one-time lump sum payment) to me
The effective date was 7-*- After I completed all the necessary information, they said the check was mailed 7-*- I called numerous
times and on 7-**-was told to call back on 7-**-to stop payment on that check and they would send me another check

8-*-I was told the replacement check had been mailed that day 8-*- I was told to call back on 8-**-if I had not received it and they would Stop Payment Again As of 8-**-I have not received my check Each time I called Customer (NO) Service I was told a different story

This company is very bad I am a beneficiary of a retirement plan benefits all paperwork sent in proof of everything papers sign by the deceased partner 5 months later I get a letter it was denied because my partner died before april 1 2015 and that made no since to me because my partner died 2018 so when I called the office differant persons was telling me differant reasons why it was denied one customer service said no it was denied because you and him was not married. But he choose me as a beneficiary and he and I filled out the application sent it in along with our proof of everything they ask for power of attorney papers and more.still they refuse to acknowledge me as the beneficiary.appealing this is a joke I can't be fighting with these people I will now need legal advice .

I am the beneficiary of a retirement plan benefits / I sent in all of my paper work to national Retirement company and was denied because I was told that my partner which he or me was never married but was told I was denied as a beneficiary because he died after april. 1 2015 and when I called to the office and ask them to explain customer said no the letter is wrong you was denied because you and him wasn't married. So because we wasn't married still he choose me as a beneficiary we filled everything out together as a partner and sent the application in as they requested and proof paper work .everytime I would call and ask a question customer service and managers would give me differants reasons why it was denied and some was very rude about it .now I need advice from a higher source.

Review: I am the beneficiary of a life insurance policy with this company and I've not received the death benefit payment. The proper paperwork was sent in April of 2013. I've made several phone calls, mailed a letter, and also faxed a letter.Desired Settlement: Payment made.
