Mgmt Treatment of Employees and Patients
Based on the many reviews, it appears that Management is not focused on respect and dignity of it's employees and patients. I have an upcoming appointment, and am praying that I am not mistreated. I refuse to put up with unprofessionalism, disrespect, lack of integrity and compassion for the individual. It starts from the top. GET IT TOGETHER.

I had a scheduled procedure on a Friday afternoon for an injection to my back by National Spine & Pain Center. I was called by National Spine & Pain Center on Thursday prior to the procedure and was informed my authorization for the procedure was denied. The reason for the denial was Anthem (my insurance) stated an MRI wasn't performed. I did have an MRI of both cervical and lumbar.
It's been 3 days and I can't get anyone from National Spine & Pain Centers to return a phone call. I was in so much pain I had to go to the ER for pain meds.
I think I will find another doctor, since this group doesn't care and is dysfunctional.
Terrible service for a doctor...sorry Danielle S. Cherrick, M.D. but you have let me down.

12/15/To Whom It May Concern:
We have reviewed the claim in questionThe patient was travelling from a distance and was requesting an evaluation and treatment, all within the same dayDuring the phone conversation, we reviewed the pricing of multiple treatments, not
knowing which treatment would be recommended until after the consultation with the physician, We reviewed the cost of Prolotherapy, which is $925, and the cost of PRP, which is $It appears that the patient chose to focus his attention on the lower cost of the two proceduresFollowing the consultation with the physician, it was determined that a combination of PRP and Prolotherapy would be most beneficialPer the schedule request, we performed a combination of PRP and Prolotherapy for the price of the PRP, $1210, The patient was charged appropriately and In accordance with our posted fee schedule. In regards to the payment plan, our company does not have a payment plan and has never had a payment plan, Since there is no aforementioned payment plan to be offered, there is an extremely low probability that a payment plan would be discussed with the patientOur policy with *** *** has always been to collect payment, in full, at the time of the visit, This policy holds true for any patient undergoing regenerative procedures with our practiceThe patient had requested a consultation with the physician and treatment within the same day, The consultation visit was billed through the insurance, as with any office visit with the physicianThe $was the copay that was assigned by the patient's insurance company for the consultation visit and was a separate charge from the treatment that was performedThat being said, patient satisfaction is our maln priorityIn an act of good will, we have written off the $copay owed by the patient for the physician consultation,

Regards,
[redacted]

I saw the Laura R[redacted] (PA) twice at the Fairfax, VA location. She spent 5 minutes examining me, did not order an MRI and even after hearing my medical history, misdiagnosed me. She was rude, not at all compassionate and seemed very impatient. As a result of her misdiagnosis, I received a very painful injection which was in the wrong area and a complete waste of time and money. Her diagnosis cost me weeks of additional pain and delayed proper treatment.
Also, I waited significant amounts of time while in horrible pain every time I went for an appointment. This place is like a factory. I will not pay for my visits with Ms. Ri[redacted] and strongly recommend avoiding this place.

Review: I saw [redacted] on 1/29/13 for pain in my right shoulder. He was extremely late for the visit and spent much of the time nervously repeating the reason for his extreme lateness. He sent me for the following tests: Urinalysis, Blood test (for Vit D) though I told him I had the test a few months earlier, a MRI and an EMG. During the EMG, the doctor performing it, stopped several times before ending the test early, asking me why my doctor sent me for the test - there was obviously nothing wrong with my nerves. I decided to return to a different doctor in the same practice (something just didn't seem right). In that exam, with an in office sonogram, the doctor was able to see the tear in my right rotator cuff. I later learned the urine test was to test for illegal drugs! My complaint is that I feel [redacted] ordered several tests that were NOT necessary and both my insurance and I have to pay for them. In the office, I was told [redacted] does these tests (urine and blood) on every new patient! It's 'doctor's choice'. I went there for pain in my right shoulder. The testing, even the sonogram in office then an MRI for detail makes sense but all these other tests raise the cost of patient care.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the $134.07 bill I had to pay for the illegal drug test AND I would like provisions to be put in place so that this doctor does not continue to order multiple inappropriate tests that cost both insurance and patients unneccesarily.

Review: I was a patient at this practices' [redacted] office for two years and always received excellent care so my husband went to their [redacted] office to be diagnosed and treated for chronic debilitating pain in his legs and feet. The doctor that saw him (**. [redacted]) was sarcastic and confrontational toward my husband and myself from the moment he walked into the room. He did not even examine my husband, yet he quickly told us that the only treatment he would do was a surgical procedure to send electric current through my husband's spine. When my husband said he was not interested in any invasive surgical treatment **. [redacted] said " Sorry, can't help you then". I asked him if he could at least run some tests first to see what was causing the pain or could he prescribe something for my husband's pain because he cannot sleep or stand due to the pain. His response was "I do not give narcotics". I told him that neither of us asked for narcotics, he just wanted tests to see what was wrong, but he refused. We have good insurance so there is no reason that he should not have at least tested him to see if there was damage in my husband's legs and feet. I became angry and expressed to **. [redacted] that MY doctor at the other office goes over my options and does not dictate only one treatment and that I had gotten an MRI at the start of my treatment. **. [redacted] continued with his sarcastic and indifferent attitude so I told him I would be contacting the corporate office to file a complaint because it took over a year for my husband to even agree to see a doctor and he was not even receiving an exam for his pain. At this comment, **. [redacted] became angry and told us to leave the office or he would call the police and he proceeded to tell the assistant in the room that they should "get my name out to the other office". I was stunned that he would threaten MY treatment when my case had nothing to do with my husband's issue. He proceeded to tell us to get out and the office manager and assistant backed him up and told us to leave or the police would be called. We left and I called the office to ask that they send my husband's paperwork to our home and the office manager told me they had looked up who my doctor was. This alone is a violation of the medical protocol and privacy laws because I had not singed a release for them to check into my care but they did it regardless. I called the main office to file a complaint about the horrible treatment my husband received and the Operations manager said she would look into it. I was due for my monthly appointment at the [redacted] office so I made an appointment for myself and my husband hoping he would receive better treatment but I was told that **. [redacted] canceled both of our appointments. I was later told that I had been released from the practice and would no longer be seen. I am angry at the injustice that was done to not just me but to my husband as well. The practice should have at least taken my complaint about **. [redacted] into account since I had been their patient for years and **. [redacted] had just joined their practice. I did not receive any explanation about why I was being released and I was denied the chance to speak with my physician to explain the facts of what happened.Desired Settlement: I would like **. [redacted] AND **. [redacted] to be reprimanded and I would like an explanation of why I was released when it was their new doctor that acted inappropriately. Patients should not be subjected to the deficient level of care that my husband received and I feel this was a total injustice to both of us by this medical practice. **. [redacted] did not provide an acceptable level of care and he should have been reprimanded or even discharged for his actions.
