This company is a scamThe Department of Education will consolidate your loans for free! I have paid over $1,for this serviceThey kept charging my card $randomlyWhen I called to ask about the extra charges I found that the number I was given has been disconnectedNever sign up for anything over the phoneIf they are approaching you its a scamDo your research, this company has at least of the same complaints against them

On August 12, I was contacted by a company regarding my loans for educationAfter searching for something online to help better manage my debt, I found an advertisement to lower my student debt loans paymentsThe company representatives explained the repayment program as a simple loan restructure using the words "subsidy" and "income driven repayment"The services NSLDA provided showed promise and lead me to feel releved about actually having these debts paid offWe went over my budget, calculated my actual income, discussed my family size, and went into great depth about my past and present employmentOverall I was surprised with the thorough review of my schooling, where I went, what I learned, why I chose this path of study, & how my education played a part in the career I now haveUltimately the company explained their approach in determining whether or not I would qualify for programs like PSLF or Loan DischargeI was very satisfiedI was charged a fee for the assistance in preparing and tracking my submissions to the DOEAnd though I was told these programs could be done myselfI wanted help and they seemed to know what they were doingAfter over a year in the program repayment assistance with NSLDA, I am now saving several thousand dollars a year in repayment towards my student loans and have cut my term from years down to only yearsI'd have to say at times I was very worried this might not work outMostly due to issues with my Loan Servicer.., i.e lost paperwork, delayed program approval, and attempts to discourage my use of outside assistanceBut now I can gladly say I'm happy with my choice in companies to help guide me through this processAnd since have referred many of my family and co-workersAll of which seem as satisfied as meHopefully this helps others in their decision to work with companies like NSLDA

Knowing that I can finally afford my student loan payments is a relief. I had payments in the $500-$600 range and I considered my loans an expense that I could just not afford at the time. When I got the call to consolidate my student loan I was a little iffy about it. But after hearing how knowledgeable the staff is I became more comfortable. When the man helping me stated that he can get my payments down to $103 I could not believe it. The first two things I thought were why have I not heard about this, and why hasn't Fedloan done this for me.
The Representatives that helped me did their jobs very well. They always followed up with me every month until my program was completed. They even called to tell me when my new payments would begin.
They really did a great job and kept me from going to collections. I would have never been able to do this on my own and deal with the Fedloan. This is a company that I would strongly recommend to all my friends and family

Review: I partnered with the NSLDA to consolidate my student debt back in August. I worked with one of their processors named [redacted] who processed my paperwork and worked out what I thought would be an affordable payment for me to handle. My paperwork was processed incorrectly, resulting in the consolidation company rejecting my application. The company "Great Lakes" told me that my defaulted loans were not eligible, despite the workers of the National Student Loan Debt Advocates saying that all loans were eligible. I was assured that this was something that could be fixed easily and they would resubmit it. In the midst of all this, the department of education began garnishing my wages. I reached out to this company months before the garnishment occurred. Their director [redacted], or [redacted] (Much of the information they give is incorrect, so his true last name I'm unclear of) said that he would work to get the garnishment off and that if he couldn't he would refund the payments I made to them (I made two payments of $233.00 for a consolidation service they were unable to provide). I have been trying to get my money back since the ending of last year. I have given them ample time to give me the payment back for a service I never received and i've completed their entire refund request packet. They say it takes two days for a reply, and I had not correspondence for over a month. I have experienced nothing but unprofessionalism and disrespect. They don't return phone calls or messages, I had a processor, [redacted] tell me that she had to physically walk to her boss's office to ensure he picked up the phone because I had been calling him and received no correspondence back. That is completely ludicrous for a company to purposely avoid their clientel. I am now pursuing legal action because they refuse to refund me my funds and disrespectfully said that a refund was out of the question, despite them not doing what I paid them to do.Desired Settlement: I would like the full amount of $466 refunded to me because they weren't able to consolidate my debt, nor were they able to remove the garnishment from my current paycheck. I would like to completely wash my hands with this company and begin the process of consolidating with another professional company who can provide the services they are advertising.

Review: I work with [redacted] at first to try and see if their company can help me to save on my student loans. After I signed up the very next day I called and wanted to cancel their service. He told me that he will go ahead and cancel it. Two days later I looked at the bank statement and I was charged 199.00...I called back immediately and told him and I wanted to have my account credited back. He told me that the Director of operations will call me back but there was no such person. Some person by the name [redacted] called me and was rude, kept on talking over me and not even listening to what I have to say. Kept on telling me to read the contract and im at fault and I would need to pay more, and after not getting anywhere he hung up on me and said ill send you to collections. Since then I have been trying to contact both of them and of course no response. WATCH OUT THESE GUYS ALREADY HAVE AN ALERT they are horrible and I believe they are doing fraudulent business.Desired Settlement: I want my refund back.

Review: My son attended school and the student loan is in my name. I received a call from [redacted] with NSLDA stating he could help me bring down the payments of the loan and also might possibly be able to negotiate the amount of the student loan. His contact number is [redacted] ext [redacted]. He was very convincing in regard to being able to help. He stated that I would need to pay $700.00 for him to be able to process the loan and give me a monthly payment amount. This payment was made to NSLDA in May of this year. I have tried numerous times to contact [redacted] but always get his voicemail. He never returns my calls. Since he never returns my calls, my wife called him on 9/17/2015 and requested he call me that evening to discuss the loan. He told her he would call me at 4:30 that evening and has yet to call. The interest on the school loan continues to climb. I feel I have no where to turn at this point.Desired Settlement: I would like NSLDA to complete the process they were paid to do. I have paid but not received the services promised. The best outcome for me would be:

Affordable payments

Decreased Loan Amount

I was under the impression that this is what my $700.00 was going toward. To make matters worse, this was the 2nd company that has done this to me.

Review: I have paid www.nslda.us for their service to consiodation my student loans, in the agreement if the process did not do as they say what they will do, I will received my full refund for serivce not completed as the plan that they explaining to the customer, I have paid them the the sum of $600.00 and as of today date 04/17/2015 have file my own documentation on my own. E-mail and spoken to the case worker and she explain the [redacted] the CEO has to make the ruling on this matter. It has been three month and no reply at all, Also the company use my credit card for final payment of the $600, which it was paid already, so I have to contact my crdit card company to stop paid and process with an investigation in which I wonDesired Settlement: I would like a letter to apologize for there reason and payment in full and wish to let other's

that it company is false.

The NSLDA hosts unprofessional employees. I have been hung up on and not responded to several times by them over the course of a couple of weeks. I am not receiving answers to my questions and am being billed for services irrelevant to me...and when asked about them I am not being given specific dates/times when these services were completed. I am also unable to get a hold of the Director of Operations due to "personal reasons" and am not being given a date when the Director would return to answer my questions. In fact, I was told by a floor manager, "We will just have to play the waiting game." Very unprofessional.

Review: I was contacted by Student Loan Advocates and told that they could help me get rid of my student loan debt by having me complete paperwork. when I completed the paperwork, they took my money and disappeared. I have tried numerous times to contact them via phone and email and have not been successful. My student loan paperwork was never completed and my loan was sold to Equitable Acceptance. Equitable Acceptance has been debiting 39.42 from my checking account and they have not been able to help explain the process to me either. I would like to file a complaint and receive my money refunded to me.Desired Settlement: Refund my money and the money they took from my husband's checking account. I would like them to tell me what exactly it is that they do and explain why they never completed the paperwork that they claimed would help in forgiveness of student loan debt. My husband and I are both educators and we trusted that they would follow through as they said they would.

Student Loan Advocates can be reached at [redacted] Equitable Acceptance can be reached at [redacted]
