Initial Business Response /* (***0, 5, 2015/01/28) */
***,
Being present when the ***'s agreed to purchase their King of the Road from us I am very familiar with their situationI will address their concerns as they are laid out in their initial letter to the Revdex.comFirst
let me say, I am sorry to hear that they are experiencing any level of frustrationLet alone enough to merit getting a third party involvedWe want to do what is reasonable to resolve their concerns
The *** did purchase their King of the Road from us on October 28th for *** The original price was discounted by *** because they thought the trailer had more dining table chairs than what came with itMind you this was after they had already seen the trailerThere never were extra chairs however we made that concession to appease themWe have enough RV furniture taking up space that we don't remove furnishings from our units unless it was at the customer's request
Between the time that they agreed to purchase the unit and the time that they took delivery we reconditioned the trailerThere are two main things we look at 1) what is covered under the day warranty? And 2) what needs to be addressed structurally? For the first part we are required to replace, repair, and perform necessary maintenance on anything covered by the day warrantyWe did soFor the second part we worked through any structural concerns, primarily the kitchen/entertainment center slideWe completely replaced the roof of that slide because it had some minor water infiltration that we didn't want to worsen over time for the *** We also repaired the floors in the other two slides as they weren't as rigid as we would like them to be for long term useI can provide a copy of the internal work order that details all work that was performed to prepare the RV for deliveryAt the time that they came in to pay the balance, they were pleased with the work and finalized the transaction
As for the electrical cord, it is very common to have cosmetic flawsIf it wasn't functioning properly or was a hazard we would have replaced itHad we been told it was a concern prior to them purchasing another one we would have exchanged itWe weren't given that opportunityThe couple that traded the coach in to us were using it pull time on that very cord which is likely why the prongs were "black and burnt looking"It obviously worked properly when we set up their RV on site because we wouldn't have been able to diagnose the fireplace issue
The fireplace wasn't working when we delivered the trailer to the *** spot at their son's residenceWe did take it out, order the necessary parts to repair it, and drove back toward Springfield to install itWe also repaired a small crack in the black water holding tank at that timeWe completed the best repair possible without bringing the trailer back to our service facility which the customer was opposed to because they are staying in it full timeMy technician that performed the repair is incredibly experienced and confident in the repairThe delivery and service visits were done at no cost to the ***
There weren't a TV or VCR in the unitAgain, it isn't our policy to remove equipment from our RVsMany used RVs are missing things such as electronics or original appliances when they are traded to usThis includes manuals and books as wellIf it was there when we got it then it would have been in the RV when they came to finalize the purchaseI can only assume they looked at multiple dealers and trailers before deciding to purchase the King of the RoadNone of these things were promised on the WE OWE form signed by the customerAgain, I can provide copies of that document as well
As for the microwave, it wasn't an issue during the inspection process yet I would be willing to send a technician to address that problem and replace the microwave if necessaryIf there are leaks from the slide room seals then we will take care of that as well
There are holes in the underbelly where the previous owners had done work to the coachIt isn't a warranty or structural issue so we didn't do anything to itThese holes can be patched if the customer desiresAs for the roof, we did minimal maintenance to ensure that there weren't any leaksAnything else was done prior to us trading for itIf we were concerned it would leak we would have addressed itWe see repairs like that every dayThey aren't usually pretty but if they stopped the leak then it did its job
The unit was cleaned as are all of our RVs, new or used, prior to deliveryIf that was a concern it could have been addressed here when they purchased itMy detail staff may miss things from time to time but we will always do what we can to make it right while the RV is still here at the dealership
As for the alleged need for *** - *** in repairs I am uncertain where that figure comes fromA contractor works on homes and buildingsWe specialize in RVsThey are an entirely different creatureWe felt at the time that the ***'s purchased the unit that is was in very sound conditionWe know issues can arise which is why we provided a day warranty from *** I can provide the warranty contract the *** signed and the pages of the warranty booklet detailing the coverage provided
In conclusion, we will address the microwave and the slide seal concerns of the *** They can contact me directly at *** to schedule a time that is suitable for us to do soPlease let me know if I need to send any additional documentation as well
Cordially,

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 11, 2015/03/27) */
Case No - XXXXXX
I would like to meet someone out there to I'm right! Call me! X-XXX-XXX-XXXX
Revdex.com - ***
we do not have the internet, fax machine! I called and finally you sent me a letter about this case
I don't beleive this case should be closed, not until something is done to that RV so we can live in it, we are not living in it, Because we have no idea what works & what doesn't work
I am in my 70's & in pretty poor heath, I have oxygen 24/7, Breathing treatment, pills, etcI can't be too hot or cold for me to survive! Thats why that RV must be fixed & fixed right for me to live inNow we spent *** for that RV with the promise that everything would work that they (Mid America RV) wold go thru & make everying work like it should
I contend that nothing was done! The main electric cord was spliced & was all Black & Burnt look We bought a new cord *** later
When they brought the RV out to the site, where it will set, they (Mid America RV) tried to start the fireplace, it wouldn't startMid America RV said I quote "The fireplace wasn't working when we delivered it too the ***'s site at there son's resident."
Doesn't anyone get the idea by now that Mid-America RV did nothing to that RV??
1) we signed a contract saying we would buy the RV if everything was working right, we gave them *** down they had it too work on over weeks before they delivered itNothing worksNot the air conditioner sounds like a train runing on the top of it
2) Microwave is dead
3) the clothes dryer is not balanced or the rollers are shot
4) the underbelley is full of holes, hanging on ground
5) The water leaks in, Have towells to soupt up the water
NoThey gave us a check for *** for the chairs that are missing
6) The black water tank has a leak
7) We have no idea if Refrigator or freezer work they don't get cold, Replacement value ***
8) when we first saw the RV gave them the *** There was a tale and chairsNow theres a tale & chair there talking about extra chairs, I don't think so!!
9) There is no TV or VCR in it now, I have paper work stating it should be in the RV!
So, what do I do now? We have no money to hire someone to fix itI still beive it will cost *** at least to fix it the way it should be! Mid America RV said they'd go out & fix it some of it! How can I trust them?? Who would?? we're not living there,I have o idea of what to do I do have a contractor who is scheduled to inspect the RV & give me an honest oppion of what he woul charge to fix it & do it right, S we can move into itIn the mean time I am sending a copy of all the coresponive on this matter to The Attorney General in Jefferson city, consume proctection unit and to the *** of Missouri Mr Nixon, plus the Secartary of StateThats' all I can do, It must be fixed & fixe'd right before we can live in it! had anybody expressed the want to go see that RV? They can, anyonewould help us by looking at that mess!
Thank you

Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 17, 2015/04/09) */
Enclosed you will find a receipt from a contractor we hired to work on our RV that we bought from Mid-America RVThey didn't do their jobs so we had to borrow money *** from our son's to work on the RVAs you can see there were leaks all over the RV, the vent lids were cracked and leaking, @ caps had to be replace, etc
Now we find out to fix the black water tank is estimated to be around *** - *** if it can be taking out & replace,or repared - !!
As of today, nothing has been done to the inside, microwave is till dead the Dryer is still broke, where the TV 19' & VCR is supposed to be is just a hole, where it should set, we still cann't live there! I havent the heart to look at the stove or oven, its all black & discoloredNow so far we have spent *** plus *** for the spliced & black main electric cordMid-America owes us at least *** Because of the work they should have done,; that we're having to payLet us know?? I',m ready to take his problem farther!!

Mr& Mrs***,
We can not help a customer that isn't giving us an opportunity to helpWe have responded each time with what we can do to assist youYou insist on seeking outside services from a contractor rather than contacting our dealershipOur previous offers still standWe simply need you to give us the opportunity to address the issue rather than calling others and responding through a third partyOur number is ***Again, you need to contact us to work out the details on the repairsWe have never been contacted since our last time on site to install the fireplaceFrom that point all further correspondence has been on here over the past few monthsGiven the opportunity you will likely find that we are the same friendly, courteous people that you chose to do business with in the first placeOur service department is up to speed on everything we have committed to take care of and will be expecting your call
