Review: My mother had this company for garbage pick up at one time. But she dropped them and started up with another company. My mother is elderly. This company never stopped billing my mother. But meanwhile my mom is paying the other company that is actually picking her garbage up. But being elderly, I guess when NWS billed her, she didn't realize it and still payed them too. Now NWS will not refund her even though they said they would several months ago. They keep telling me that they will send a refund check out this week and they never do. I lived with my mom before she moved to NC with us and I saw only the other garbage company picking up her garbage. I even talked to them about picking up some extra garbage since she was moving. So I know for a fact that NWS was not picking garbage up too. NWS has admitted they were wrong and said a refund was do but now they won't send it. This basically amounts to theft of an elderly woman!Desired Settlement: Just a refund of the over payment amount.

I had explained to [redacted] that if we had been billing his mother incorrectly I would most certainly have a refund check sent. However, after checking with my operations department and route sheets that serviced his mothers address for the time frame he's requesting a refund for. We were going to the home and servicing the account. We were never notified that the customer was cancelling service and switching to another company.

If the invoices were not being paid, of course a flag would have gone up to at least prompt a phone call from us to them.

Without notification we continually serviced the address. There is no way of knowing that we weren't picking up garbage and the other company as well.

The cost of service is not just the disposal of the waste but the man power and truck expense in driving to the location for service.

I'm willing to come to some sort of compromise, but that does not mean he deserves a 100% refund for services that were rendered in good faith.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

National Waste Service admitted to me originally that they made a mistake and that they were sending my mom a refund!! A full refund!! They said they were printing up a check! I guess someone came up with the idea that they could use the excuse that they were still driving past my moms house and that they could use that as an excuse to not to give her the full refund that was promised.

If NWS was truly driving past my moms house looking to pick up garbage...then I would not have had to of paid extra to East End Sanitation to pick up the extra garbage when she moved out of her home. We were putting garbage to the curb everyday and only East End Sanitation ever picked it up! So where was NWS when all that garbage was out at the curb? Not to mention my mom never had a garbage can issued from NWS for any garbage pick up. Private garbage pick up is paid per garbage pail not per house visit. And as I have previously said..I lived with my mom while she was moving out and I never once saw NWS come by her house for garbage pick up, yet I constantly saw East End Sanitation coming by.

NWS continually billed an elderly woman for service they knew she was not receiving. Its like a reverse theft of services. They admitted they did this to me and were originally more then willing to refund her the money. I don't know but somewhere along the way they decided they didn't want to refund her the money. I don't know..maybe their company isn't making much money and they needed the money from an elderly woman who lives on social security! How they can live with themselves is beyond me!! I just pray no one scams them when they are elderly!! We want the full refund that she was promised!!

I am certainly uncomfortable with the customers dissatisfaction. But unless we were informed the service was cancelled there is an expense associated to the account whether 1 bag, 1 pail, or 10 yards of waste was at the curb or the curb was empty. It's not uncommon for a resident to not put out their waste for pickup. I myself don't always bring my waste to the curb, especially if I won't be home early enough to bring the can back up by a reasonable time. And I resent the fact that your using your mothers age as an excuse for your lack of communication and my fault in the matter.

If you were to switch from Cablevision to Verizon.... Would you call cablevision and let them know? Would you drive to an office to return any equipment? Then why as the "garbage man" do I not deserve the same respect. All it would have taken is a phone call or email to cancel the service.

National Waste Service HAS NOT written back thru the Revdex.com!! They would rather stiff an old lady and keep money that is not theirs!!!

The Attorney General of Suffolk County should shut these people down. They are active criminals that have a [redacted] mentality. They run their business like its the late 80's and try to intimidate people for money. They will not negotiate anything and if they do its criminal the offer they make.. Its impossible to have them pick up their compactor from your property. They are liars, and bully's. Complete disgrace and its insulting to deal with uneducated is like these in 2015. A civil suit has been placed Spare yourselves and do not bother with these people. [redacted] must have missed this bunch ! PLEASE NOTE The only way to submit the review was to pick a star I by no means give them not even a thought of a star
