Nationwide Drywall & Painting Reviews (1)

In the course of construction work, it is often necessary to borrow electrical power or water from neighboring homesThis is usually done by asking permission from the owner of the home and compensation is often given at the end of the usage. As far as borrowing electrical power, the
neighbors usually would prefer to be friendly by lending the power instead of listening to a very loud and disruptive generator running all dayIn this case, the worker approached the neighboring homeowner in the morning before starting, to request use of the electrical powerthe owner said yes, but she told the worker that she wished they had asked before using the power the evening before, when they were not at home, and should ask in the future before using. The worker connected a cord to the GFCI outlet by the front doorApproximately hours later, the representative for the builder asked the worker to disconnect from the neighbor's power outlet and to not have any further contact with that homeowner, also stating that the homeowner had threatened to call the police, OSHA, etcThe worker complied with the request immediately and disconnected the cordIn regard to the homeowner complaining that we did not later contact him to make an apology: as stated above, we were told by the builder to have no further contact with the homeowner since it would only escalate an already irate and irrational homeowner. All of our employees have been instructed to have no further contact with this homeownerIn regard to the statement we were using eight power tools at once: there were only three workers on the crew involved. They would have had to be using two or three power tools each, at the same time, for that many outlets to be used at once. As far as we know, we do not even own any power cords with eight plugins. The cord used was plugged into a GFCI outlet, as any knowledgeable contractor would make sure to use in this instance. The nature of a GFCI outlet is that it works like an independent breaker, the outlet would disrupt the power through the cord before any damage would occur to the home and would continue to disrupt the power until manually resetRespectfully Submitted, *** *** Office Manager Nationwide Drywall & Painting, Inc***
