Hello Fred..
We received your message and you spoke with the girl in the office who assured you that your issue would get fixed. We contacted your sales person and they are aware of the issue and the crew will be out to fix the complaint.
Your driveway was done last month and now that we are in the final weeks before the end of the year and the weather is no longer cooperating, we are really busy and trying to get to everyone in a timely manner.
We will contact you when the crew will be out there a couple days in advance. I hope this is sufficient for you. We will keep in touch. Thank you for your cooperation.

very poor quality of asphalt done on my driveway last fall. Two weeks after, the asphalt started to show signs of segregation and sinks. weeds started to grow through the asphalt. upon examination, it was discovered no gravel grade was added as per the contract. no 2 inches thick asphalt as per the contract. pictures taken and nationwide paving company was contacted. it took six month to send their representative to examine the work. finally, they stated they will patch the specific holes and not accepting the job was done not according to the contract.

Desired Outcome

All I am expecting is the job to be done according to the contract. I am expecting two inches of asphalt with proper tar content.

Wanted to clarify that Nation Wide Paving has paved the noted area. When we received the first email by *** back in November 20th, 2018 regarding his issue on the driveway, we had our sales person in the area go by and inspect the issue at hand. When *** and *** arrived at ***'s cottage they did notice a hole, no bigger then a coffee cup rim and assured *** that this is a very minor issues that would be taken care of by our repair team in the spring due to the time of the year and also asphalt plants being closed for the season.
As promised by emails through the winter he was told that when the weather gets better we would send our repair crew to address the issue. This past May long weekend we had *** (owner of the company) meet *** at his cottage to come up with a solution for the repair. On May 27th, 2019, the repairs were done. It was repaired with a infrared burner and melts all asphalt in the 1x1 area so it is one unified repair. As per ***'s concerns of segregation the asphalt that was used was an HL3 product as stated on the contact that was signed. As per the contract we are still waiting for payment by ***. Many emails and telephone conversations took place with *** from November 2018 until now regarding his concerns. We are still willing to come up with a resolution with *** so can finalize this project and make everyone happy.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The pike throw issue was discovered two weeks after installation. Upon inspection I discovered that the layer of the asphalt is considerably thinner than promised in the contract. ***. The contract states:

Trim off weeds, add a gravel grade compact, let sit for 2 weeks then compact and install 2" HL3 asphalt.

At the time of installation, There was no gravel grade compact.
In early spring this year, The weeds and insects are already poking through in a large number of locations across the driveway and it is not even summer yet. The asphalt thickness measures between 1/4" to 1/2" where the weeds and insects are poking through. A spot repair did not correct the issue. weeds grew from the same spot a week after the repair. My own inspection showed The rout cause was the thickness initially installed in those areas. In addition, I had an expert examine and commented about the job done and I forwarded the review to Nation Wide earlier prior to repair they performed . No comment or respond received From Nation Wide about the inspection and the observation.

Here's a recap of the review:
"Points of concern with your driveway in addition to thin areas and evidence of absent substrate compaction is the uneven layering in some areas (eg: high and low spots) and the use of coarse aggregates and low binder materials which results in poke through.... these areas will eventually release the aggregate and become loose over time and result in holes and gaps in the driveway... Penetration of water could then induce cracks with the freeze and thawing cycles of our climate".
The recommended rework is:

The solution the third party expert suggested:
"The driveway can be layered with a higher grade asphalt mix using tacking agents to bind to the current layer".

This is the corrective action I expect from Nation Wide since the initial work was not done correctly and according to the detail in the contract.
As far as comment that they are expecting payments from me, $5000 cash was paid to the *** while the crew were finishing the job on the day of installation. I was asked to pay cash and I did. The payment was based on $4800 as per the original contract plus couple of hundred dollars for additional 100 sq" quoted verbally by ***, their sales agent.
There has been no additional invoice
Presented to me what so aware in advance to the time of installation. in term of outstanding balance.
I have the original contract and a large number of pictures to demonstrate the quality defects. Please let me know if you want me to provide the pictures as evidence.

Hello ***
*** and the crew have come to a resolution with this matter and they have decided that they will once again come out to the property and physical core-test the asphalt and if it does not meet the proper thicknesses they will than overlay the driveway to end this matter. Please contact the Nation Wide Office to arrange scheduling.
Thank you

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I can only say I accept their offer and hoping they are serious this time to correct the problem. Unfortunately, last time around was just a band aid solution to a serious quality issue which didn't work. Having said that, I will be waiting for the results after repair this time reserving my rights to comment afterwards. I would like to ask you keeping the case open until further notification from me. All I am asking for them to deliver what they promised in the contract, nothing more nothing less.

I contacted Nationwide Paving (*** ~ sales rep) to have my driveway paved. She came out in early June and gave a detailed description of the job and what we will be getting for the money. We would be charged $1200 for paving of our driveway. The driveway was to be dug up in July. They did not show up and after multiple attempts to contact them they finally said they would come in August. August came and went without any contact from them although multiple voicemails were left for the company. They then dug up the drive way in late August / early September. They just come today to pave the driveway. They did not do it to the level that they quoted us and have left the driveway not finished as per their quote. You cannot seem to contact anyone and their voicemail is full

Desired Outcome

We would like a refund for the driveway as they did not complete the job to the standard that they had quoted us and have now left us having to find another company to complete the job

. From May thru October they continually promised to pave my driveway. Finally finished today (Oct 23/17). Did a very poor job. Driveway not graded properly. Not sufficient asphalt laid. Told my neighbour (shared driveway) if we didn't pay they'd rip it up!!

My driveway was paved on 26 of October 2016. The Nation Wide Paving required the job completion between August and September. Work was done on cold weather, which affected the quality of paving. Many deficiencies can be noticed very easily. Smaller and larger wholes, poor compaction, thickness of paving which is not sufficient in some areas.
The Nation Wide Paving did not respond to number of my phone call neither three email and registered letter as well.

Desired Outcome

Refund Required repair by properly sealing by using proper material ( 2 layers within 2 hours period), or many refunds.
