To Whom it may concern: I am General Manager here at Nationwide Self Storage. I am responding to Complaint #[redacted]. Yes Mr. [redacted] did rent here at Nationwide Self Storage. paperwork on file and signed by him. On December 11, 2015 My office assistant noticed that there were no locks on Mr. [redacted]s units. On December 15, 2015 I noticed the locks from Unit(s) [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] were removed. I called Mr. [redacted] and asked him if he vacated his unit(s) but he stated to me "I still have them till the end of the month" I said yes you do! he said he would be back to sweep them out. Due to high volume of calls I typically receive for a car storage in December I moved Mr. [redacted] out of the system so I may be able to re rent the units on the first of January. On December 21st I moved Mr. [redacted] out of the system. Do to an error on my behalf I failed to mark these units as un-rentable. Unfortunately one of his units was rented out on December 26, 2015. Mr. [redacted] called me and asked me why his unit had been rented out. I explained to him it was in error. He was upset and told me he wanted all his rent back from the time he moved out of all his units. I told him I will speak to the owners at our next meeting. I explained to him that we do sometimes refund a customer a prorated amount. Unfortunately my following meeting was canceled. Mr. [redacted] called me back and asked me if I had heard any news yet. I explained to him that I had not due to the meeting being canceled. I then asked him how he got onto the property, because if I had in fact moved him out of the system his code would no longer work. He said his code did work. I explained if I moved him out of the system his code would Not work. I once again told him him I would bring it up at the next meeting. Before I had a chance to have another meeting Mr. [redacted] called me back and demanded his money back, I explained to him that I mailed out his three deposits, and I have not received the OK on his pro rate as of yet. He got extremely rude and told me he wanted all of his money back from all three units from the time he moved out. Only one of Mr. [redacted]'s units were rented out. I am willing to refund his money for the days the one unit was rented before the end of the month.
