To whom it may concern: On 10/28/Mrs [redacted] brought their Chevrolet trailblazer into our shop because the shifter would not move After checking the vehicle, it was determined that switch in the center console was gummed up with dirt, dust, and other material that accumulates over time After taking part of the center console apart, which is located inside the vehicle, and cleaning everything seemed to be working properly Apparently after the customer made it to Arkansas, which is approximately 1,miles away from our location, they experienced problems again They contacted our facility at which time we informed them that without having a proper diagnostic from another shop or mechanic, there was no way for us to know if it was the same problem or not They also never requested a refund, or any options for us to correct the situation, they instead just decided to file a complaint with the Revdex.com If it were the shifter linkage on the transmission that had come detached, that is a totally separate issue from the repairs we performed Without knowing exactly what happened, there is no way for us to know what failed and if it was related to the work we did In conclusion, without a proper diagnosis to tell us exactly what happened, we have no way of knowing if it was related to what we had done We do stand by our work, but we were not given the opportunity The bottom line is that when the vehicle came into our shop, the button for the shifter would not release and when the vehicle left, it would release If the shifter linkage became detached, that is a mechanical failure and the work we performed was more of an electrical issue If there is any more information needed, please feel free to contact us

On 10/28/2016 Mrs. [redacted] brought their 2004 Chevrolet trailblazer into our shop because the shifter would not move.  After checking the vehicle, it was determined that switch in the center console was gummed up with dirt, dust, and...

other material that accumulates over time.  After taking part of the center console apart, which is located inside the vehicle, and cleaning everything seemed to be working properly.
Apparently after the customer made it to Arkansas, which is approximately 1,100 miles away from our location, they experienced problems again.  They contacted our facility at which time we informed them that without having a proper diagnostic from another shop or mechanic, there was no way for us to know if it was the same problem or not.  They also never requested a refund, or any options for us to correct the situation, they instead just decided to file a complaint with the Revdex.com.

In conclusion, without a proper diagnosis to tell us exactly what happened, we have no way of knowing if it was related to what we had done.  We do stand by our work, but we were not given the opportunity.  The bottom line is that when the vehicle came into our shop, the button for the shifter would not release and when the vehicle left, it would release.  If the shifter linkage became detached, that is a mechanical failure and the work we performed was more of an electrical issue.

To whom it may concern:
On 01/05/2014 we towed in Mrs. [redacted]'s 2005 [redacted]. We towed it from around 45 miles out of [redacted]. We only charged her $55.00 for the tow service, normally it would be at least a $200.00 tow. It was brought in for no heat and leaking coolant. Upon inspection, technician found that the thermostat housing gasket was leaking coolant, and the customer authorized the necessary repairs.
After completing the repairs, the technician pressure tested the cooling system again and found that the water pump was leaking. Sometimes, especially with cooling systems, when you fix one problem, it can make another weak link in the system worse. On the 2.7 liter V6 on this particular vehicle, the water pump is timing chain driven. Once we had written an estimate to replace the water pump, the customer again authorized the necessary repairs. After we received the water pump we had ordered we had noticed a bulletin, which I have included a copy of, that was in the water pump box. This stated that it is not advised to re-use the timing chain tensioner. After informing the customer about the bulletin, the customer declined to replace it at that time. The technician proceeded to complete the water pump replacement. While performing the repairs, the technician noticed that the engine had a fair amount of sludge that was built up on some of the internal components, which was due to lack of maintenance. At which time, we also recommended to replace the timing chain as well. Upon completion, there was noise coming from the timing chain area due to the timing chain tensioner not providing proper tension.
We then advised the customer about the problem. After we were unable to locate a tensioner locally, and the customer not wanting to pay for it, they opted to have a relative send a tensioner from somewhere back east. We finally received the part on the afternoon of 01/07/2014. The vehicle repairs were finally completed later that afternoon. Also, we did not charge the customer any additional labor for having to perform the same repair twice since they declined the tensioner replacement while we were originally in there and it was easier to replace. The vehicle was then driven and rechecked and everything was working at that time.
The customer had a relative, or acquaintance of some sort, perform a third party credit card payment for the total repairs in the amount of $955.86. The customer had requested to have us give them their old parts that were replaced, which was not a problem for us. However, after we were unable to locate the thermostat that was replaced, the customer became EXTREMELY irate. We were still attempting to locate the thermostat, even digging through the trash cans. The customer was in the office, while there were other customers around and was cursing and even threatening bodily harm towards us. We eventually had to contact the local police department to try and diffuse the situation. After the police officer was able to mediate the situation, the customer went on their way.
Unfortunately a short while later, approximately 10-15 minutes before we closed, the customer called from [redacted] which is about 50 miles west of our location and the vehicle had shut off. We then told the customer that regrettably, there was not much that we could do at that time. We had no idea of knowing what may have happened to the vehicle. We are a [redacted] Center and the work we perform is covered by a nationwide, 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. The warranty, typically does not cover tow charges. I have also included a copy of the [redacted] warranty details.
The following morning, we received a call from a repair shop in [redacted], which is farther west from us. We informed them about the repairs we had performed and they said they would check the vehicle to see what had happened. We never heard anything further after that from the customer or repair shop until now.
This is a very unfortunate incident and are very sympathetic with customer. We did perform the necessary authorized repairs to the vehicle and correct the original complaint, and the vehicle was working when it left our location. If there were any issues with the parts or labor that we performed, they were covered under warranty. We hope that this helps to clarify this dispute. If there are any further questions, or information needed, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
[redacted], Owner
